1Coronavirus disease(COVID-19):The need to maintain regular physical activity while taking precautions显示文摘The on-going Coronavirus disease(COVID-19)outbreak in China has become the world's leading health headline and is causing major panic and public concerns.On January 30,2020,the World Health Organization(WHO)declared that the new coronavirus outbreak is a public health emergency of international concern.1 The virus has already had a direct impact on more than 10 million people in the city of Wuhan and has reached other parts of China as well,posing a health threat of unknown magnitude globally.As of February 8,2020,WHO reported 34,886 confirmed cases of COVID-19 globally,with 34,589 of them occurring in China(including 6101 severe cases and 723 deaths).A total of 288 other confirmed cases(with 1 death)have been reported in 24 countries,including Japan,Australia,Germany,and United States.2 However,these daily estimates are expected to rise even higher as reports from health authorities in China3 are gathered and near real-time updates of the Johns Hopkins virus dashboard are made 4 The outbreak has caused governments in various countries to take swift and protective measures.In China,these included putting cities on lockdown,5 implementing travel wamings/bans and cancellations,6 extending national holidays,and closing schools and postponing classes7.Peijie Chen Lijuan Mao George P.Nassis Peter Harmer Barbara E.Ainsworth Fuzhong Li 2020Journal of Sport and Health Science2020,9,2:15
2Fluid-melt Inclusions in Fluorite of the Huanggangliang Skarn Iron-Tin Deposit and Their Significance to Mineralization显示文摘For the first time, fluid-melt inclusions are found in fluorite of the Huanggangliang skarn iron-tin deposit (HSID). The fluorite was formed in the main stage of mineralization, named the hydro-skarnization stage. The inclusions contain various components such as Fe, Mg and Cr from deep sources. The melts of primary inclusions are mainly Ca- and F-rich and those of secondary inclusions tend to become Si-rich. During this evolution process, the melts and iron daughter minerals decreased and even vanished. These facts reveal that the evolution of the primary mineralizing fluids and the differentiation of the fluids and melts are the main factors leading to the deposition of Fe, Sn and other elements. This discovery confirms the magmatic genesis of the HSID and has filled in the gaps in the research of magmatogenic skarn deposits and furnished new methods for such research. 3Highly expressed BMP9/GDF2 in postnatal mouse liver and lungs may account for its pleiotropic effects on stem cell differentiation,angiogenesis,tumor growth and metabolism显示文摘Bone morphogenetic protein 9(BMP9)(or GDF2)was originally identified from fetal mouse liver cDNA libraries.Emerging evidence indicates BMP9 exerts diverse and pleiotropic functions during postnatal development and in maintaining tissue homeostasis.However,the expression landscape of BMP9 signaling during development and/or in adult tissues remains to be analyzed.Here,we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the expression landscape of BMP9 and its signaling mediators in postnatal mice.By analyzing mouse ENCODE transcriptome datasets we found Bmp9 was highly expressed in the liver and detectable in embryonic brain,adult lungs and adult placenta.We next conducted a comprehensive qPCR analysis of RNAs isolated from major mouse tissues/organs at various ages.We found that Bmp9 was highly expressed in the liver and lung tissues of young adult mice,but decreased in older mice.Interestingly,Bmp9 was only expressed at low to modest levels in developing bones.BMP9-associated TGFβ/BMPR type I receptor Alk1 was highly expressed in the adult lungs.Furthermore,the feedback inhibitor Smads Smad6 and Smad7 were widely expressed in mouse postnatal tissues.However,the BMP signaling antagonist noggin was highly expressed in fat and heart in the older age groups,as well as in kidney,liver and lungs in a biphasic fashion.Thus,our findings indicate that the circulating BMP9 produced in liver and lungs may account for its pleiotropic effects on postnatal tissues/organs although possible roles of BMP9 signaling in liver and lungs remain to be fully understood.Wei Liu Zhongliang Deng Zongyue Zeng Jiaming Fan Yixiao Feng Xi Wang Daigui Cao Bo Zhang Lijuan Yang Bin Liu Mikhail Pakvasa William Wagstaff Xiaoxing Wu Huaxiu Luo Jing Zhang Meng Zhang Fang He Yukun Mao Huiming Ding Yongtao Zhang Changchun Niu Rex C.Haydon Hue H.Luu Jennifer Moriatis Wolf Michael J.Lee Wei Huang Tong-Chuan He Yulong Zou 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,2:9

5A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 6Leaf gas exchange and photosynthesis curves of Elymus nutans and Potentilla anserina under fencing and grazing conditions in the Qilian Mountains, Northwest China显示文摘Potentilla anserina L.and Elymus nutans Griseb.are dominant species in the subalpine meadows of China.Grazing is one of the most important factors that influence community structure and productivity of subalpine meadows.Understanding how grazing changes photosynthetic capability is essential for preservation and restoration of grasslands.However,information about the effects of grazing on photosynthetic capability remains inadequate.Experiments were conducted in fencing and grazing areas in the Qilian Mountains,Northwest China.The leaf gas exchange and photosynthetic curves of P.anserina and E.nutans were measured at different growth stages.Results showed that grazing decreased the values of leaf gas exchange parameters,such as net photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance,transpiration rate,and intercellular CO2 concentration of P.anserina and E.nutans.In addition,grazing decreased the values of net photosynthetic rate-photosynthetically active radiation(PN-PAR)curve parameters,such as light-saturated net photosynthetic rate,apparent quantum efficiency,light compensation point,light saturation point,and dark respiration rate.Our results demonstrated that grazing was the primary limiting factor for photosynthesis of dominant grassland species in the study area.LIU Junjie WANG Xiaoping GAO Yunfei RONG Zhanlei ZHANG Guangde WANG Wenbin GE Lijuan MAO Yahua GUO Zhaoxia ZHAO Chuanyan 2019Journal of Arid Land2019,11,3:3
7Effect of Taijiquan practice versus wellness education on knee pro-prioception in patients with knee osteoarthritis:a randomized con-trolled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To determine the effects of Taijiquan practice on knee proprioception in patients with knee osteoarthritis(OA).METHODS: We conducted a randomized controlled trial comparing Taijiquan with a control condition(wellness education) in patients with knee OA. The patients participated in either a 60-min Taijiquan session three times weekly or a 60-min weekly educational session, for 24 consecutive weeks. The primary outcomes were changes in knee proprioception. Secondary outcomes were changes in the Western Ontario and Mc Master University Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC).RESULTS: After 24 weeks, compared with the control group, the Taijiquan group demonstrated better improvements in the joint position sense in knee flexion(left:-2.12°; right:-2.02°), and knee extension(left:-2.22°; right:-1.54°). In addition,the Taijiquan group showed significantly greater improvements in the WOMAC scores(P < 0.05) for knee pain(left:-3.17 points; right:-3.74 points),stiffness(left:-2.43 points; right:-2.13 points),and physical function(left:-10.99 points; right:-8.00 points), compared with the control group.CONCLUSION: A 24-week Taijiquan practice resulted in a significant improvement in knee proprioception in patients with knee OA. 9Modified non-rectangular hyperbola equation with plant height for photosynthetic light-response curves of Potentilla anserina and Elymus nutans at various growth phases in the Heihe River Basin, Northwest China显示文摘The non-rectangular hyperbola(NRH)equation is the most popular method that plots the photosynthetic light-response(PLR)curve and helps to identify plant photosynthetic capability.However,the PLR curve can't be plotted well by the NRH equation at different plant growth phases due to the variations of plant development.Recently,plant physiological parameters have been considered into the NRH equation to establish the modified NRH equation,but plant height(H),an important parameter in plant growth phases,is not taken into account.In this study,H was incorporated into the NRH equation to establish the modified NRH equation,which could be used to estimate photosynthetic capability of herbage at different growth phases.To explore photosynthetic capability of herbage,we selected the dominant herbage species Potentilla anserina L.and Elymus nutans Griseb.in the Heihe River Basin,Northwest China as the research materials.Totally,twenty-four PLR curves and H at different growth phases were measured during the growing season in 2016.Results showed that the maximum net photosynthetic rate and the initial slope of PLR curve linearly increased with H.The modified NRH equation,which is established by introducing H and an H-based adjustment factor into the NRH equation,described better the PLR curves of P.anserina and E.nutans than the original ones.The results may provide an effective method to estimate the net primary productivity of grasslands in the study area.LIU Junjie WANG Xiaoping RONG Zhanlei GAO Yunfei ZHANG Guangde WANGWenbin GE Lijuan MAO Yahua GUO Zhaoxia WANG Qingtao ZHAO Chuanyan 2019Journal of Arid Land2019,11,5:1

11A Novel CoFe2NiMn0.3AlCux High-Entropy Alloy with Excellent Magnetic Properties and Good Mechanical Properties显示文摘In the present study,we investigate the crystal structure of high-entropy alloys(HEAs)in the form of CoFe2NiMn0.3AlCux(x=0.25,0.50,0.75,and 1.00)and their mechanical and magnetic properties.The CoFe2NiMn0.3AlCux alloys are composed of a mixture of a body-centered cubic(BCC)and a face-centered cubic(FCC)solid solution.The increased amounts of copper(Cu)boost both alloy strength and plastic ductility.The CoFe2 NiMn0.3AlCu1.0 HEAs demonstrate excellent mechanical properties,such as a high strength of 1832 MPa and a large plastic ductility of 22.38%.Magnetic property measurements on this alloy system indicated high saturated magnetization and high coercivity.The coercivity of the tested alloys lies in the range between 40 and 182 Oe,suggesting that the alloys have semi-hard magnetic properties.This study suggests that the present CoFe2NiMn0.3AlCux HEAs could serve as potential candidates for soft magnets in electromagnetic applications.Man Zhu Chi Zhang Kun Li Yongqin Liu Mao Zhang Lijuan Yao Zengyun Jian 2021Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2021,34,11:1

18Effect of aerobic exercise on insulin resistance and centra1 adiposity disappeared after the discontinuation of intervention in overweight women显示文摘目的:本研究旨在分析有氧运动干预停止后,运动对超重/肥胖女性腹部脂肪含量和胰岛素抵抗(HOMA-IR)的作用是否消失。方法:研究对象来自2项相似的独立有氧运动干预研究。研究Ⅰ中,15名绝经后并患有糖尿病的超重,肥胖女性(BMI=24-33 kg/m^2,年龄52-65岁)完成为期8个月的有氧运动干预,并在干预停止后2年随访。研究Ⅱ中,12名绝经前的超重/肥胖妇女(BMI=25-35 kg/m^2,年龄30-50岁)接受为期6周的有氧运动干预,并在干预停止后4年随访。运动方案中,运动强度为60%-75%最大摄氧量、每次30-60 min,每周3-5次运动。通过双能X线(DXA Prodigy;研究1)或生物电阻抗(Inbody 720;研究Ⅱ)测定脂肪含量。用化学荧光免疫法测定血浆葡萄糖和胰岛素水平,算出胰岛素抵抗水平(HOMA-IR)。结果:8个月和6周中等强度有氧运动干预均能有效降低HOMA-IR(-18.9%,p=0.012;-26.7%,p=0.046),8个月的有氧运动干预使上腹部脂肪含量降低(-6.2%,p=0.021),但这些作用在干预停止后的随访中均消失。结论:有氧运动干预能有效降低超重/肥胖女性的腹部脂肪含量和胰岛素抵抗水平。但无论短期还是长期有氧运动,在干预停止后其产生的益处都消退。因此,为获得长期益处,有必要维持长期有氧运动。Shenglong Le Lijuan Mao Dajiang Lu Yifan Yang Xiao Tan Petri Wiklund Sulin Cheng 2016Journal of Sport and Health Science2016,5,2:1
19Novel Microglia-based Therapeutic Approaches to Neurodegenerative Disorders显示文摘prominent immune cells in the central nervous system,microglia constantly monitor the environment and provide neuronal protection,which are important functions for maintaining brain homeostasis.In the diseased brain,microglia are crucial mediators of neuroinflammation that regulates a broad spectrum of cellular responses.In this review,we summarize current knowledge on the multifunctional contributions of microglia to homeostasis and their involvement in neurodegeneration.We further provide a comprehensive overview of therapeutic interventions targeting microglia in neurodegenerative diseases.Notably,we propose microglial depletion and subsequent repopulation as promising replacement therapy.Although microglial replacement therapy is still in its infancy,it will likely be a trend in the development of treatments for neurodegenerative diseases due to its versatility and selectivity.Lijuan Zhang Yafei Wang Taohui Liu Ying Mao Bo Peng 2023Neuroscience Bulletin2023,39,3:1
