4Short mucin 6 alleles are associated with H pylori infection显示文摘AIM: To investigate the relationship between mucin 6 (MUC6) VNTR length and H pylori infection. METHODS: Blood samples were collected from patients visiting the Can Tho General Hospital for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. DNA was isolated from whole blood, the repeated section was cut out using a restriction enzyme (PvuⅡ) and the length of the allelefragments was determined by Southern blotting. H pylori infection was diagnosed by 14C urea breath test. For analysis, MUC6 allele fragment length was dichotomized as being either long (> 13.5 kbp) or short (≤ 13.5 kbp) and patients were classif ied according to genotype [long- long (LL), long-short (LS), short-short (SS)].RESULTS: 160 patients were studied (mean age 43 years, 36% were males, 58% H pylori positive). MUC6 PvuⅡ-restricted allele fragment lengths ranged from7 to 19 kbp. 15Intragastric band erosion:Experiences with gastrointestinal endoscopic removal显示文摘AIM:To remove the migrated bands using a gastrointestinal endoscopic approach.Little is published on complications that can occur.METHODS:From June 2006 to June 2010,eight patients developed intragastric band migration.Two patients had received their AGB in a different hospital,theremaining six were operated by the same surgeon.In all patients gastrointestinal endoscopic removal of the band was attempted by two individual gastroenterologists.Clinical signs of band migration were:persisted nausea,abdominal pain,weight gain,recurrent infection of the port and tubing system and hematemesis.RESULTS:In four patients removal was performed without complications.In two patients extracting the cleaved gastric band into the stomach appeared impossible.The two remaining patients presented with acute hematemesis and melena.One of these patients was readmitted with hematemesis.The other patient started bleeding during the gastroscopy and was converted to a laparoscopy in which one of the branches of the left gastric artery was oversewn.CONCLUSION:Band migration after gastric banding can be life threatening.Gastrointestinal endoscopic removal is a feasible technique that holds the promise of fast reconvalescence.Edo Oscar Aarts Bas van Wageningen Frits Berends Ignace Janssen Peter Wahab Marcel Groenen 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,5:0

17Three-dimensional modeling with national coverage:case of The Netherlands显示文摘Three-dimensional technologies have matured over the years.At the same time,3D information is becoming increasingly important in many applications.Still it is not straightforward to apply the solutions that work on prototypes,small areas or for specific projects to 3D modeling of a whole nation.In the Netherlands,two initiatives are ongoing to address the issues of nation-wide 3D modeling.First,the initiative that aims at establishing and implementing a national 3D standard for large-scale topography with support of all stakeholders.Collecting and maintaining the large-scale data are the responsibility of local governments(mainly municipalities).The second initiative is led by the Kadaster(the organization responsible for topographic mapping in the Netherlands)and aims at automatically generating a 3D version of the 1:10 k object-oriented data-set based on a smart combination of the two-dimensional data with high-resolution laser data.Both initiatives are presented in this paper including results,open issues,and future plans.Jantien STOTER Linda van den BRINK Jakob BEETZ Hugo LEDOUX Marcel REUVERS Paul JANSSEN Friso PENNING George VOSSELMAN Sander OUDE ELBERINK 2013Geo-Spatial Information Science2013,16,4:0
