1Enhancing aerodynamic performances of a high-turning compressor cascade via boundary layer suction显示文摘Experimental investigation was carried out to study the effect of suction positions and suction flow rates on the aerodynamic performance of a compressor cascade with a large camber angle. The ink-trace flow visualization was conducted and the flow fields of the cascade were also measured. Three types of boundary layer suction configurations are compared,i.e. the suction surface suction,the endwall suction and the compound suction. Experimental results show that the large amount of suction flow rate gains more losses reduction than the small amount for a certain proper suction configuration,but the speed of loss decline slows down as the suction flow rate goes on increasing. Boundary layer suction on the suction surface obviously enhances the ability of the boundary layer around the midspan to withstand the negative pressure gradient of the flow passage. The range of the suction surface corner is also decreased. If the suction slot locates in the corner separation region where severe separation has happened,the flow separation will be terminated at the slot and redevelop downstream. And boundary layer suction on the endwall mainly influences the endwall corner region in remarkably delaying,lessening and reorganizing the corner separation. While the whole flow field is remarkably improved at both midspan and the corner region in the compound suction schemes. At higher suction flow rates,the aerodynamic performance of the compressor cascade is better than that with boundary layer suction simply on the suction surface or on the endwall. 3Parametric estimation of discretely sampled Gamma-OU processes显示文摘The stationary Gamma-OU processes are recommended to be the volatility of the financial assets. A parametric estimation for the Gamma-OU processes based on the discrete observations is considered in this paper. The estimator of an intensity parameter λ and its convergence result are given, and the simulations show that the estimation is quite accurate. Assuming that the parameter λ is estimated, the maximum likelihood estimation of shape parameter c and scale parameter α, whose likelihood function is not explicitly computable, is considered. By means of the Gaver-Stehfest algorithm, we construct an explicit sequence of approximations to the likelihood function and show that it converges the true (but unkown) one. Maximizing the sequence results in an estimator that converges to the true maximum likelihood estimator and the approximation shares the asymptotic properties of the true maximum likelihood estimator. 4EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF BEDLOAD TRANSPORT IN UNSTEADY OPEN-CHANNEL FLOW显示文摘Experiments are performed to study bedload transport in both steady uniform and unsteady open-channel flows. Data of Steady uniform flow fit well with the existing formula in the literature. If the formula for sediment transport in a uniform flow is used to predict the bedload transport rate in unsteady flow, the calculated and the measured bedload transport rates are different. For the runs with predominately accelerating flow, the calculated sediment transport rate is smaller than the measured one, while for the runs with predominately decelerating flow, the calculated sediment transport rate is much larger than the measured one. 5Kuroshio warm filament and the source of the warm water of the Tsushima Current显示文摘Characteristics and evolution of the Kuroshio frontal eddies and warm filaments are analyzed according to two series of satellite images (March 5 to 7, 1986 and April 14 to 16, 1988). The results show that the frontal eddies in the East China Sea are generated at the shelf break and move along the continental slope at a speed of 15 cm/s with the Kuroshio. The frontal eddies occur about every 10 d and evolve to be warm filaments a few hundred km in length and 30-40 km in width in the area west of the Yaku-shima. Meanwhile, the existence of the warm filament was also found in the area by analysing the hydrographic data in the area west of Kyushu during May 24-June 5, 1988.The Kuroshio warm filaments move westward opposite to the Kuroshio and then turn northward at the shelf break and become the main source of the warm water of the Tsushima Warm Current. 6Studies of low-lying states of even-even Xe isotopes within the nucleon pair approximation显示文摘We study the relevance of nucleon pairs with higher spins, in addition to spin-zero and spin-two pairs (i.e., S D pairs), in low-lying states of even-even Xe nuclei. By including those higher-spin pairs in our configuration, we recalculate energy level schemes, elec trical quadrupole moments, magnetic moments and electric quadrupole transition rates, for low-lying states of even-even 128-142Xe nuclei. 7Measurement and simulation of the two-phase velocity correlation in sudden-expansion gas-particle flows显示文摘In this paper the present authors measured the gas-particle two-phase velocity correlation in sudden expansion gas-particle flows with a phase Doppler particle anemometer(PDPA) and simulated the system behavior by using both a Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) model and a large-eddy simulation(LES).The results of the measurements yield the axial and radial time-averaged velocities as well as the fluctuation velocities of gas and three particle-size groups(30 μ m,50 μ m,and 95 μ m) and the gas-particle velocity correlation for 30 μ m and 50 μ m particles.From the measurements,theoretical analysis,and simulation,it is found that the two-phase velocity correlation of sudden-expansion flows,like that of jet flows,is less than the gas and particle Reynolds stresses.What distinguishes the two-phase velocity correlations of sudden-expansion flow from those of jet and channel flows is the absence of a clear relationship between the two-phase velocity correlation and particle size in sudden-expansion flows.The measurements,theoretical analysis,and numerical simulation all lead to the above-stated conclusions.Quantitatively,the results of the LES are better than those of the RANS model.Li-Xing Zhou.Yang Liu.Yi Xu Department of Engineering Mechanics,Tsinghua University,100084 Beijing,China Marine Engineering College,Dalian Maritime University,116026 Dalian,China 2011Acta Mechanica Sinica2011,27,4:3
8DC dielectrophoresis separation of marine algae and particles in a microfluidic chip显示文摘This paper reports a microfluidic method of continuous separation of marine algae and particles by DC dielectrophoresis. The locally non-uniform electric field is generated by an insulating PDMS triangle hurdle fabricated within a PDMS microchannel. Both the particles and algae are subject to negative DEP forces at the hurdle where the gradient of local electric-field strength is the strongest. The DEP force acting on the particle or the algae depends on particles' or algae's volume, shape and dielectric properties. Thus the moving particles and algae will be repelled to different streamlines when passing the hurdle. In this way, combined with the electroosmotic flow, continuous separation of algae of two different sizes, and continuous separation of polystyrene particles and algae with similar volume but different shape were achieved. 12DIFFERENTIAL SCANNING CALORIMETRY AND X-RAY DIFFRACTION STUDIES ON AGING BEHAVIOR OF Zn-Al ALLOYS显示文摘Decomposition processes of the quenched Zn-Al alloys were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that the stabilities of supersaturated solid solution (SSS) of Zn-Al alloy and α’ phase formed by quenching would reduce with increasing Zn content and precipitating ηZn phases even when aging at ambient temperature, so that exothermic precipitation peak in DSC curse would disappear. The activation enengy of the ηZn precipitation and their reaction enthalpy were calculated and measured. The kinetics of α’ decomposition or η-Zn formation was determined by XRD. 17Gabor Filter Optimization Design for Iris Texture Analysis显示文摘This paper deals with an optimization design method for the Gabor filters based on the analysis of an iris texture model. By means of analyzing the properties of an iris texture image, the energy distribution regularity of the iris texture image measured by the average power spectrum density is exploited, and the theoretical ranges of the efficient valued frequency and orientation parameters can also be deduced. The analysis shows that the energy distribution of the iris texture is generally centralized around lower frequencies in the spatial frequency domain. Accordingly, an iterative algorithm is designed to optimize the Gabor parameter field.
