2Label-free detection of hybridization of oligonucleotides by oblique-incidence reflectivity difference method显示文摘The microarrays of 20-base oligonucleotide with different concentrations are detected before and after hybridization by the oblique-incidence reflectivity difference (OI-RD) method. The experimental results prove that OI-RD is a label-free method which can not only distinguish the concentration difference of oligonucleotides before and after the hybridization but also detect the hybridization of short oligonucleotides. At present the OI-RD method can detect 0.39 μmol/L 20-base oligonucleotide or less. 3Superconductivity at 36 K in gadolinium-arsenide oxides GdO_(1-x)F_xFeAs显示文摘In this paper we report the fabrication and superconducting properties of GdO1-xFxFeAs. It was found that when x is equal to 0.17, GdO0.83F0.17FeAs is a su-perconductor with the onset transition temperature Tcon ≈ 36.6 K. Resistivity anomaly near 130 K was observed for all samples up to x = 0.17, and such a phenomenon is similar to that of LaO1-xFxFeAs. 5Formation of hyperbranched polymers in atom transfer radical copolymerization of MMA and DVB显示文摘Hyperbranched poly(methyl methacrylate)s (HPMMAs) have been successfully prepared by atom transfer radical copolymerization of MMA and divinylbenzene (DVB).Kinetic study shows complete consumption of the initiator in 0.5 h,and relatively low polymerization rate when DVB content in the feed was high.By analyzing MALDI-TOF spectra of the resulting copolymers,the linear A n B (n=0,1,2,3) oligomers were formed in 0.5 h of polymerization,and then the oligomers reacted each other to form dimers,further reactions produced HPMMA.The SEC and NMR spectroscopies were used to trace the polymerization,and the results demonstrate that small amount of the branching reactions occur in the initial polymerization,and the branched polymers are significantly generated past a certain conversion depending upon the feed ratios.Raising the content of DVB in the monomer mixture can increase the pendent vinyl groups of the linear oligo-inimers,leading to gelation at low MMA conversion.SUN Miao & PAN CaiYuan CAS Key Laboratory of Soft Matter Chemistry Department of Polymer Science and Engineering,University of Science and Technology of China,Hefei 230026,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,12:4
6Pairwise entanglement and local polarization of Heisenberg model显示文摘The characteristics of pairwise entanglement and local polarization (LP) are dis-cussed by studying the ground state (states) of the Heisenberg XX model. The re-sults show that: the ground state (states) is (are) composed of the micro states with the minimal polarization (0 for even qubit and 1/2 for odd qubit); LP and the prob-ability of the micro state have an intimate relation, i.e. the stronger the LP, the smaller the probability, and the same LP corresponds to the same probability; the pairwise entanglement of the ground state is the biggest in all eigenvectors. It is found that the pairwise entanglement is decreased by the state degeneracy and the system size. 7Detection of protein microarrays by oblique-incidence reflectivity difference technique显示文摘Biological microarrays with different proteins and different protein concentrations are detected without external labeling by an oblique-incidence reflectivity difference (OIRD) technique. The initial experiment results reveal that the intensities of OIRD signals can distinguish the different proteins and concentrations of protein. 8Effects of gravity on the microstructure of Zr_(41)Ti_(14)-Cu_(12.5)Ni_(10)Be_(22.5) bulk glass forming alloy显示文摘The ZrTiCuNiBe alloy is melt and solidified by Bridgman unidirectional solidification on two gravity field orientations (the gravity field orientation is parallel and opposite to solidification direction). Effects of gravity on morphology and microstructure are investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). 11THE LIGHT INDUCED CHANGE IN TRANSIENT PHOTOCONDUC-TIVITY OF POLYMORPHOUS SILICON FILMS显示文摘The decays of transient photoconductivity and their light-induced changes of polymorphous silicon (pm-Si:H) films were investigated. The decays can be fit fairly well by a sum of two exponential decay functions, which indicates that there are two kinds of traps contributing to the process. The light-induced changes of the concentration and energy level of the traps were estimated. 12Characterization of different-Al-content AlGaN/GaN heterostructures on sapphire显示文摘Al x Ga 1-x N/GaN high-electron-mobility transistor (HEMT) structures with Al composition ranging from x = 0.13 to 0.36 are grown on sapphire substrates by low-pressure metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (LP-MOCVD). The effects of Al content on crystal quality, surface morphology, optical and electrical characteristics of the AlGaN/GaN heterostructures have been analyzed. Although high Al-content (36%) heterostructure exhibits a distinguished photoluminescence peak related to recombination between the two-dimensional electron gas and photoexcited holes (2DEG-h), its crystal quality and rough surface morphology are poor. 2DEG mobility increases with the Al content up to 26% and then it apparently decreases for high Al-content (36%) AlGaN/GaN heterostructure. The increase of sheet carrier density with the increase of Al content has been observed. A high mobility at room temperature of 2105 cm 2 /V s with a sheet carrier density of n s = 1.10 × 10 13 cm -2 , for a 26% Al-content AlGaN/GaN heterostructure has been obtained, which is approaching state-of-the-art for HEMT grown on SiC. 13Recent progress in single chip white light-emitting diodes with the InGaN underlying layer显示文摘Tremendous progress has been achieved in white light-emitting diodes (LEDs). To further improve the quality of white light and simplify the fabrication process, a single chip white-light LED with the InGaN underlying layer (UL) was studied and fabricated. The turn-on voltage of this type of LED was 2.7 V, and the spectrum at a forward bias current of 20 mA was comprised of blue (443 nm) and yellow (563 nm) lights. The intensity ratio of blue to yellow light was almost constant with the in- creasing injection current in a certain scope, most important for the solid state illumination. 15Synthesis and intrinsic blue fluorescence study of hyperbranched poly(ester-amide-ether)显示文摘A series of hyperbranched poly(ester-amide-ether)s (H-PEAEs) were synthesized via the A2+CB3 approach by the self-transesterification of ethyl ester-amide-ethers end-capped with three hydroxyl groups and ethyl ester group at two terminals.The molecular structures were characterized with 1H NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy.The number average molecular weights were estimated by GPC analysis to possess bimodal wide distribution from 1.57 to 2.09.The strong inherent blue fluorescence was observed at 330 nm for excitation and 390 nm for emission.Moreover,the emission intensity and fluorescence quantum yield increased along with the incorporated ether chain length,as well as almost linearly with the H-PEAE concentration in an aqueous solution.For comparing the fluorescence performance,the linear poly(ester-amide-ether) (L-PEAE) and hyperbranched poly(ester-amide) (H-PEA) were synthesized.The results showed that the coexistence of ether bond and carboxyl group in the molecular chain was essential for generating the strong fluorescence.However,the compact backbone of H-PEAE would be propitious to the enhancement of fluorescence properties.ZHANG Yong,FU Qi & SHI WenFang CAS Key Laboratory of Soft Matter Chemistry Department of Polymer Science and Engineering,University of Science and Technology of China,Hefei 230026,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,12:3
16Understanding the defect chemistry of oxide nanoparticles for creating new functionalities:A critical review显示文摘This work presents a critical review on the studies of defect chemistry of oxide nanoparticles for creating new functionalities pertinent to energy applications including dilute-magnetic semiconductors,giant-dielectrics,or white light generation.Emphasis is placed on the relationships between the internal structure and defective surfaces of oxide nanoparticles and their synergy in tailoring the materials properties.This review is arranged in a sequence:(1) structural fundamentals of bulk oxides,using TiO2 as a model simple oxide to highlight the importance of polymorphs in tuning the electronic structures;(2) structural features of simple oxide nanoparticles distinct from the bulk,which show that nanoparticles can be considered as a special solid under the compression as originated from the surface defect dipole-dipole interactions;and(3) new functions achieved through extending the defect chemistry concept to the assembled architectures or multi-component oxide nanoparticles,in which defect surfaces enable the localized electrons or intermediate levels to produce giant dielectric performance or tunable light generation.It is concluded that understandings of defect chemistry provide diverse possibilities to manipulate electrons in oxide nanoparticles for functionalities in energy-relevant applications.LI GuangShe,LI LiPing & ZHENG Jing State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Fuzhou 350002,China 2011Science China Chemistry2011,54,6:3
17Seasonal variation analysis of atmospheric CH_4,N_2O and CO_2 in Tianjin offshore area显示文摘The concentrations of CH4, N2O and CO2 at the sea level were observed from November 2007 to August 2008 in order to study the greenhouse gases in the Tianjin offshore area of Bohai Sea. CH4 concentrations varied from 1.87 to 2.61 ppm with the highest value appearing in summer and the lowest in winter. The concentration range of N2O was 319.3 to 347.7 ppb, with the maximal value appearing in winter. CO2 was higher in the heating season than in non-heating season in this area. Concentrations of the three greenhouse gases in the study area exceeded the 2005 global background values. Backward trajectory model was used to analyze the sources. All three gases were influenced evidently by continental sources in the inshore area during the sampling periods. Every gas was compared with each other by correlation analysis, showing that the correlation of CO2 and N2O was more significant than to CH4 and their relationship with meteorological factors was consistent. 19Interference pattern generation and simulation in the single beam of a white light continuum显示文摘We demonstrate the interference phenomenon in the White Light Continuum(WLC) generated by a single femtosecond laser beam. Different kinds of spatial interference patterns of the WLC generation under various conditions were investigated. The spatial patterns were attributed to interference between the filaments in the WLC generated by the fundamental laser beam yielding the diffraction effect from spatial confinement. Simulations of different patterns were performed. 20Synthesis and Structural Characterization of [Mn(phen)_2(H_2O)_2](OAc)_26H_2O显示文摘The title complex [Mn(phen)2(H2O)2](OAc)26H2O (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, C12H8N2, OAc = acetate, C2H3O2) with formula C28H38MnN4O12 and Mr = 677.56 has been syn- thesized and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction. The crystal is of triclinic, space group P ?with a = 9.6201(5), b = 13.4663(7), c = 14.5375(8) , a = 108.428(1), b =93.898(1), g = 110.492(1), V = 1639.5(2) ?, Dc = 1.373 g/cm3, F(000) = 710, = 0.468 cm-1 and Z = 2. The final refinement gave R = 0.0522 and wR = 0.1259 for 4714 observed reflections with I > 2s(I). It consists of discrete [Mn(phen)2(H2O)2]2+ cation, two acetate anions and six lattice water molecules. The MnII ion coordinated by four nitrogen atoms from two chelating phen and two oxygen atoms from two cis-related water molecules is in a distorted octahedral coordination environment. Two OAc- anions and six water molecules exist outside the [Mn(phen)2(H2O)2]2+ cation as counter ions and solvate molecules, respectively.
