| 1 | Comparative Study on Biomass Yield,Morphology,Silage Quality of Hybrid Napier and Pakchong and Their Utilization in Bull Calves显示文摘This work was conducted to compare the potentiality between BLRI Napier-3(BN-3)and Pakchong(PK)fodders.In a completely randomized design(CRD)layout,10 plots(5 m′5 m each)were prepared and stem cuttings were transplanted.Fodder plants were harvested at 70,80 and 90 days after plantation(DAP)followed by making silage.Ten Red Chittagong Cattle(RCC)growing bull calves were selected and equally divided into two treatment groups fed only silages for nutrient utilization and growth evaluation.The highest biomass yield(69.3 ton/ha)and plant height(104.6 cm)were observed in PK at 90 DAP.The highest leaf weight(498.6 g/plant)and leaf to stem ratio(LSR)(1.53)were observed in BN-3 at 70 DAP,which was decreased gradually in progressing maturity.Conversely,stem weight was increased with progressing maturity.Dry matter(DM)(24.71%),total ash(8.35%)and acid detergent fiber(ADF)(61.89%)in PK silage were significantly higher.On the other hand,crude protein(CP)(9.86%),organic matter(OM)(91.65%)and neutral detergent fiber(NDF)(88.06%)in PK silage did not differ with BN-3 silage.Dry matter intake(DMI)and crude protein intake(CPI)from PK silage(2.25 kg/day/animal and 0.22 kg/day/animal)were significantly higher.Digestibility of DM(55.07%),CP(62.35%),OM(57.85%),total ash(30.89%),ADF(73.02%)and NDF(78.19%)for PK silage were significantly higher.N-intake(35.57 g/d)from PK silage was significantly higher,although,N-retention did not differ significantly.There were no significant differences in weight gain of calves fed PK(117 g/d)and BN-3(68 g/d).It can be concluded that PK silage is comparatively better than BN-3 in respect to biomass yield,digestibility and nutrient utilization in growing bull calves. | Nathu Ram Sarker Dilruba Yeasmin Farah Tabassum Md.Ruhul Amin Md.Ahsan Habib | 2019 | Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology(A)2019,9,3: | 0 |
| 2 | Evaluation of antibiotic resistance patterns in clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae in Bangladesh显示文摘The treatment of K.pneumoniae infections has become more difficult due to the emergence of multidrugresistant strains.This study aimed to evaluate antimicrobial resistance patterns and detect different types of beta-lactamase genes among MDR and non-MDR Klebsiella pneumoniae in various clinical samples.A total of 150 Klebsiella pneumoniae were identified from different clinical samples by conventional microbiological procedures.Antibiotic sensitivity was detected by the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method.Extended-spectrum betalactamase,Metallo-β-lactamase,and carbapenemase were phenotypically detected by double-disk synergy test,combined disk assay,and modified Hodge test.PCR also detected differentβlactamase genes and virulence genes.The majority of Klebsiella pneumoniae were multi-drug resistant(82%).The bacteria were found resistant to mostβ-lactam antibiotics,aminoglycosides,ciprofloxacin,cotrimoxazole,carbapenem,piperacillin,and tazobactam.However,only about 0.7%colistin resistance was observed.A double-disk synergy test was performed among the isolates for phenotypic detection of ESBL producing Klebsiella pneumoniae.Only 16.6%of isolates were found to be ESBL producers.Amongβ-lactamase genes,NDM(23.34%),OXA-48(8%),and KPC(7.3%)were detected.Other prevalentβlactamase genes VIM and IMP were not detected.In summary,the prevalence of MDR Klebsiella pneumoniae is high in Bangladesh,which may complicate the treatment of hospitalized patients. | Parama Aminul Shaheda Anwar Md.Maruf Ahmed Molla Md.Ruhul Amin Miah | 2021 | Biosafety and Health2021,3,6: | 0 |
| 3 | A Comparative Study of Dispersion Characteristics Determination of a Trapezoidally Corrugated Slow Wave Structure Using Different Techniques显示文摘The linear dispersion relation of a trapezoidally corrugated slow wave structure(TCSWS) is analyzed and presented.The size parameters of the TCSWS are chosen in such a way that they operate in the x-band frequency range.The dispersion relation is solved by utilizing the Rayleigh-Fourier method by expressing the radial function in terms of the Fourier series.A highly accurate synthetic technique is also applied to determine the complete dispersion characteristics from experimentally measured resonances(cold test).Periodic structures resonate at specific frequencies when the terminals are shorted appropriately.The dispersion characteristics obtained from numerical calculation,synthetic technique and cold test are compared,and an excellent agreement is achieved. | Md.Ghulam Saber Rakibul Hasan Sagor Md.Ruhul Amin | 2016 | Chinese Physics Letters2016,33,1: | 0 |
