1Ensemble machine learning framework for daylight modelling of various building layouts显示文摘The application of machine learning(ML)modelling in daylight prediction has been a promising approach for reliable and effective visual comfort assessment.Although many advancements have been made,no standardized ML modelling framework exists in daylight assessment.In this study,625 different building layouts were generated to model useful daylight illuminance(UDI).Two state-of-the-art ML algorithms,eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)and random forest(RF),were employed to analyze UDI in four categories:UDI-f(fell short),UDI-s(supplementary),UDI-a(autonomous),and UDI-e(exceeded).A feature(internal finish)was introduced to the framework to better reflect real-world representation.The results show that XGBoost models predict UDI with a maximum accuracy of R^(2)=0.992.Compared to RF,the XGBoost ML models can significantly reduce prediction errors.Future research directions have been specified to advance the proposed framework by introducing new features and exploring new ML architectures to standardize ML applications in daylight prediction.Rashed Alsharif Mehrdad Arashpour Emad Golafshani Milad Bazli Saeed Reza Mohandes 2023Building Simulation2023,16,11:0
2An integrated review of automation and robotic technologies for structural prefabrication and construction显示文摘Building construction has developed from the use of primitive tools to that of machinery,with a tendency toward automation.Automation of processes and robotics can improve efficiency,accuracy and safety in construction.On the other hand,structural prefabrication for construction is increasingly being adopted worldwide to enhance productivity and to alleviate the environmental impact of conventional construction processes.The combination and application of automation and prefabrication technologies may therefore introduce new developments to the construction industry.This paper provides a comprehensive review of the use of automation technology for structural prefabrication and construction,including recent developments,challenges and future trends.Five stages following the sequence of construction are proposed:design,construction management,robotic manufacturing,autonomous transportation and automatic structural assembly.The paper concludes that the widespread use of automation technology is preferable to structural prefabrication for construction,and that the design for robotic construction introduced through connection innovations may be beneficial as a means of avoiding complex operations and thus improving the efficiency of robotic assembly processes.Cheav Por Chea Yu Bai Xuebei Pan Mehrdad Arashpour Yunpeng Xie 2020Transportation Safety and Environment2020,2,2:0
