1Spheroidizing Kinetics and Optimization of Heat Treatment Parameters in CK60 Steel Using Taguchi Robust Design显示文摘For processing parts made from medium carbon steel,toughness and flexibility are of importance.Therefore,to achieve these properties,the cementite in the steels is spheroidized through heat treatment.Different parameters such as the time and temperature of spheroidizing and the initial microstructure of the steel affect the amount of spheroidized cementite.In the present work,the percent of contribution of two parameters,i.e.initial microstructure and spheroidizing time,to the percent of spheroidization in CK60 steel was investigated using Taguchi robust design.The initial microstructures consisted of martensite,coarse pearlite,fine pearlite and bainite and the chosen spheroidization times were 4,8,12,and 16h.Spheroidizing was done at the constant temperature 700℃.After spheroidizing was completed,the samples were prepared in order to observe their microstructure under an optical microscope and to determine the spheroidized percent using MIPTM(metallographic image processing)software.It was found that the spheroidizing time had the most influence(58.5%)on spheroidized percent and the initial microstructure only had a 31.1% contribution.Finally,the instantaneous growth rate of the carbide was also deduced.Ata Kamyabi-Gol Meisam Sheikh-Amiri 2010Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2010,17,4:9
2Gypsum-bonded particleboard manufactured from agricultural based material显示文摘Gypsum-bonded particleboard(GBPB) panels were made from various mixtures of particles of bagasse(Saccharum officinarum L.) and wheat straw(Triticum aestivum L.), bonded with different ratios of particle/gypsum. This study examined the feasibility of bagasse and wheat straw particles in the production of GBPB. One-layer experimental GBPBs with a density of 1.05 or 1.20 g·cm 3were manufactured at different ratios of bagasse/wheat straw, i.e., 100%/0%, 93.75%/6.25%, 87.5%/12.5%, 75%/25%, 50%/50%, 25%/75% and 0%/100% using two particle/ gypsum composite ratios, i.e., 1/2.75 and 1/3.25 by weight. Thickness swelling(TS), water absorption(WA), modulus of rupture(MOR), modulus of elasticity(MOE) and internal bond strength(IB) properties of the boards were evaluated and a statistical analysis was performed in order to examine the possible feasibility of these agricultural residues for use in commercial GBPB manufacturing. We determined that WA of panels decreases as the amount of straw increases to 100% and the LR/G(wood/gypsum) ratio decreases to 1/3.25, whereas the TS of panels decreases as the proportion of straw decreases to 0% and the LR/G ratio increases to 1/2.75. The experimental results also show that the MOR and MOE of panels containing 0%, 6.25% and 12.5% wheat straw with a LR/G ratio of 1/2.75 were higher than those of panels made from 25%–100% wheat straw with a LR/G ratio of 1/2.75, as well as those from all other percentages of straw with a LR/G ratio of 1/3.25. On the other hand, the IB of panels containing more than 12.5% straw with LR/G ratios of 1/2.75 and 1/3.25 were lower than those of panels made from 0–12.5% straw also with both LR/G ratios. Panels consisting of 0%, 6.25% and 12.5% wheat straw with LR/G ratios of 1/2.75 and 1/3.25 met the minimum EN standard requirements of mechanical properties for general purposes. 3Investigation of rock salt layer creep and its effects on casing collapse显示文摘Casing collapse is one of the costly incidents in the oil industry. In the oil fields of southwest Iran, most casing collapses have occurred in Gachsaran formation, and the halite rock salt layer in this formation may be the main cause for these incidents because of its peculiar creep behavior. In this research, triaxial creep experiments have been conducted on Gachsaran salt samples under various temperatures and differential stresses. The main purpose was to determine the creep characteristics of Gachsaran rock salt,and to examine the role of creep in several casing collapses that occurred in this formation. Results indicated that the halite rock salt of Gachsaran formation basically obeys the power law;however, its creep parameters are quite different from other halite rocks elsewhere. The time-dependent creep of Gachsaran rock salt exhibits strong sensitivity to temperature change;however, its sensitivity to variation of differential stress is rather low. 4Polyimide-silver nanocomposite containing phosphine oxide moieties in the main chain:Synthesis and properties显示文摘New flame-retardant polyimide-silver nanocomposite containing phosphine oxide moiety in the main chain was synthesized by a convenient ultraviolet irradiation technique.A precursor such as AgNO_3 was used as the source of the silver particles.Polyimide 6 as a source of polymer was synthesized by polycondensation reaction of bis(3-aminophenyl) phenyl phosphine oxide 4 with pyromellitic anhydride 5 in the presence of iso-quinoline as base and in m-cresol solution.The resulting composite film was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),thermogravimetry(TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The average size of the nanometer Ag particles is about 10 nm.The temperature of 5 and 10%weight loss and also the char yield at 600℃of polyimide-silver nanocomposite 6a were higher than the pure PI 6.Khalil Faghihi Mohsen Hajibeygi Meisam Shabanian 2010Chinese Chemical Letters2010,21,11:5
5Immobilization of organophosphorus hydrolase enzyme by covalent attachment on modified cellulose microfibers using different chemical activation strategies:Characterization and stability studies显示文摘The plant cellulose powder was activated by two different methods using 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether(BTDE)and 1,1′-Carbonyldiimidazole(CDI) as the chemical coupling agents.Organophosphorus hydrolase(OPH) from Flavobacterium ATCC 27551 was immobilized on any of activated support through covalent bonding.The optimal conditions of affecting parameters on enzyme immobilization in both methods were found, and it was demonstrated that the highest activity yields of immobilized OPH onto epoxy and CDI treated cellulose were 68.32%and 73.51%, respectively.The surface treatment of cellulose via covalent coupling with BTDE and CDI agents was proved by FTIR analysis.The kinetic constants of the free and immobilized enzymes were determined, and it was showed that both immobilization techniques moderately increased the Kmvalue of the free OPH.The improvements in storage and thermal stability were investigated and depicted that the half-life of immobilized OPH over the surface of epoxy modified cellulose had a better growth compared to the free and immobilized enzymes onto CDI treated support.Also, the pH stability of the immobilized preparations was enhanced relative to the free counterpart and revealed that all enzyme samples would have the same optimum pH value for stability at 9.0.Additionally, the immobilized OPH onto epoxy and CDI activated cellulose retained about 59% and 68% of their initial activity after ten turns of batch operation, respectively.The results demonstrated the high performance of OPH enzyme in immobilized state onto an inexpensive support with the potential of industrial applications.Meisam Sharifi Seyed-Mortaza Robatjazi Minoo Sadri Jafar Mohammadian Mosaabadi 2019Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,1:5

7Synthesis of Gd_2O_3 nanoparticles:using bulk Gd_2O_3 powders as precursor显示文摘Gd2O3nanoparticles were synthesized from the commercial bulk Gd2O3 powders via a simple electrochemical method. The synthesized powders were characterized by means of X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy. The effects of solution p H on the morphological features of the sample were studied. The strategy developed in this study offers significant advantages for the synthesis of Gd2O3 nanoparticles from the bulk Gd2O3 powders compared with the conventional routes. 9A generalized supervised classification scheme to produce provincial wetland inventory maps:an application of Google Earth Engine for big geo data processing显示文摘Wetlands are important natural resources due to their numerous ecological services.Consequently,identifying their locations and extents is imperative.The stability,repeatability,cost-effectiveness,multi-scale coverage,and proper spatial resolution imagery of satellites provide a valuable opportunity for their use in various large-scale applications,such as provincial wetland mapping.To do so,it is required to(1)process and classify big geo data(i.e.a large amount of satellite datasets)in a time-and computationally-efficient approach and(2)collect a large amount of field samples.In this study,Google Earth Engine(GEE)and machine learning algorithms were utilized to process thousands of remote sensing images and produce provincial wetland inventory maps of the three Canadian provinces of Manitoba,Quebec,and Newfoundland and Labrador(NL).Additionally,using GEE,a generalized supervised classification method is proposed to produce a regional wetland map from a large area(e.g.,a province)when lacking field samples.In fact,using the field data from only Manitoba and assuming that all wetlands in Canada have similar characteristics,the wetland maps were generated for the other two provinces.The overall classification accuracies for Manitoba,Quebec,and NL were 84%,78%,and 82%,respectively,indicating the high potential of the proposed method for aiding provincial wetland inventory systems.Meisam Amani Brian Brisco Majid Afshar S.Mohammad Mirmazloumi Sahel Mahdavi Sayyed Mohammad Javad Mirzadeh Weimin Huang Jean Granger 2019Big Earth Data2019,3,4:4
10Facile synthesis, morphology and structure of Dy_2O_3 nanoparticles through electrochemical precipitation显示文摘The aim of this research was to introduce a new, facile and simple method for synthesis of Dy_2O_3 nanostructures at room temperature. For the first time,galvanostatic electrodeposition was used to synthesize Dy_2O_3 particles, and the influence of the current density on the structure and morphology of the product was studied.The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET). The results show that the current density has little effect on the chemical composition but great effect on the structure and morphology of the samples. The average size of the particles decreases as the applied current density increases. The grain size of asprepared samples decreases from 500 to 70 nm when the current density increases from 0.5 to 6.0 mA·cm^(-2). To obtain oxide product, the as-prepared samples were heattreated at 1,000 °C. The results show that the heat-treated samples have smaller particles. The XRD results show that the similar patterns are observed in the samples synthesized at different current densities, and the only difference from the JCPDS card is the ratio of peak intensities. 11Success criteria analysis in support of probabilistic risk assessment for nuclear power plants: application on SGTR accident显示文摘Success criteria analysis(SCA) bridges the gap between deterministic and probabilistic approaches for risk assessment of complex systems. To develop a risk model,SCA evaluates systems behaviour in response to postulated accidents using deterministic approach to provide required information for the probabilistic model. A systematic framework is proposed in this article for extracting the front line systems success criteria. In this regard, available approaches are critically reviewed and technical challenges are discussed. Application of the proposed methodology is demonstrated on a typical Westinghouse-type nuclear power plant. Steam generator tube rupture is selected as the postulated accident. 13Experimental mass transfer coefficients in a pilot plant multistage column extractor显示文摘The volumetric overall mass transfer coefficients in a multistage column have been measured using axial dispersion model for toluene–acetone–water system. The effect of operating parameters on the volumetric overall mass transfer coefficients has been investigated for both mass transfer directions. The results show that the mass transfer performance is strongly dependent on rotor speed and mass transfer direction, although only slightly dependent on phase flow rates. In addition, empirical correlations to predict the overall mass transfer coefficients have been developed. 14SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF OPTICALLY ACTIVE POLYAMIDES BASED ON 2-(1,3-ISOINDOLINEDIONE-2-YL)GLUTARIC ACID BY DIRECT POLYCONDENSATION显示文摘<正>Five new optically active polyamides(PAs) 6a-6e were prepared by direct polycondensation reaction of 2-(1,3- isoindolinedione-2-yl)-glutaric acid 4 as a new chiral diacid with various aromatic diamines 5a-5e in a medium consisting of triphenyl phosphite(TPP),calcium chloride,pyridine(Py) and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP).The polycondensation reaction produced a series of polyamids 6a-6e in quantitative yields with inherent viscosities of 0.26-0.39 dL/g.The resulting polymers were fully characterized by means of ~1H-NMR,FT-IR spectroscopy,elemental analysis,inherent viscosity and specific rotation.Thermal properties of these polymers were investigated using thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal gravimetry(DTG).Phthalimide rings as a bulky pendent group in the polymer chains disturb the interchain and intrachain interactions and make these PAs readily soluble in polar,aprotic solvents such as N,N-dimethyl acetamide(DMAc),N,N-dimethyl formamide(DMF),dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO),N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP) and sulfuric acid.Khalil Faghihi Meisam Shabanian Atena Izadkhah 2010Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2010,28,4:3
15Effects of Yttrium Addition on Microstructure, Hardness and Resistance to Wear and Corrosive Wear of TiNi Alloy显示文摘TiNi alloy has a high resistance to wear and could be an excellent candidate for various tribological applications. In this paper, it was demonstrated that by addition of yttrium, hardness properties and resistance to wear and corrosive wear of TiNi alloy were improved. New yttrium rich regions were formed in microstructure of TiNi alloy. The improved properties of this alloy by the yttrium addition could be attributed to the formation of these regions.
