1The Value of CT Attenuation in Distinguishing Atypical Adenomatous Hyperplasia from Adenocarcinoma in Situ显示文摘Background and objective:Advances in high-resolution computed tomography(CT)scanning have increased the detection of small ground-glass opacity(GGO)nodules and also allowed such images to be investigated in detail.However,it is difficult to differentiate atypical adenomatous hyperplasia(AAH)from adenocarcinoma in situ(AIS)with CT,even at follow-up,because they share many similar CT manifestations.While AAH is thought to be a precursor or even an early-stage lesion of lung adenocarcinoma,and the stepwise progression from AAH to AIS is thought to be reasonable.Therefore,the hypothesis that the attenuation of GGO is increased gradually from AAH to AIS is proposed.The aim of this study was to distinguish AAH from AIS with CT attenuation in patients with pure GGO nodules.Methods:Between January 2010 and December 2012,the CT findings in terms of the greatest diameter and mean CT attenuation(HU)were reviewed and correlated with pathology in 56 patients with AAH(n=21) and non-mucinous AIS(n=38) by two independent observers.All the 59 lesions were pure GGO nodules with size of 2 cm or smaller.To determine variability of measuring CT attenuation,we calculated the 95% confidence interval(CI)for the limits of agreement by using Bland-Altman analysis.Student t test was used to compare AAH and AIS in terms of diameter and CT attenuation.And receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to determine the optimal cut-off value of mean CT attenuation for differentiating AAH from AIS and obtain the diagnostic value.Two-tailed P value of less than 0.05 was considered to be significant.Results:For the manually measured CT attenuation,the 95% CI for the limits of agreement was-40 HU,50 HU for inter-observer variability.Although there was significant difference in nodule diameter between AAH and AIS(P=0.046),the overlap was considerable.The mean CT attenuation was (-718±53) HU(95%CI:-822,-604) for AAH,which was significantly smaller than(-600±35) HU(95%CI:-669,-531) for AIS(P=0.013).The area under curve(AUC)from ROC was 0.903 for differentiating AAH from AIS,and the cut-off value of-632 HU was optimal for differentiation between AAH and AIS,with sensitivity of 0.79,specificity of 0.95,and accuracy of 0.85.Conclusion:The mean CT attenuation can help the radiological differentiation between AAH and AIS.Binghu JIANG Jichen WANG PengJIA Meizhao LE 2013中国肺癌杂志2013,16,11:34
2The Relative Impact of Regional Scale Land Cover Change and Increasing CO_2 over China显示文摘A series of 17-yr equilibrium simulations using the NCAR CCM3 (T42 resolution) were performed to investigate the regional scale impacts of land cover change and increasing CO2 over China. Simulations with natural and current land cover at CO2 levels of 280, 355,430, and 505 ppmv were conducted. Results show statistically significant changes in major climate fields (e.g. temperature and surface wind speed) ona 15-yr average following land cover change. We also found increases in the maximum temperature and in the diurnal temperature range due to land cover change. Increases in CO2 affect both the maximum and minimum temperature so that changes in the diurnal range are small. Both land cover change and CO2 change also impact the frequency distribution of precipitation with increasing CO2 tending to lead to more intense precipitation and land cover change leading to less intense precipitation-indeed, the impact of land cover change typically had the opposite effect versus the impacts of CO2. Our results provide support for the inclusion of future land cover change scenarios in long-term transitory climate modelling experiments of the 21st Century. Our results also support the inclusion of land surface models that can represent future land cover changes resulting from an ecological response to natural climate variability or increasing CO2. Overall, we show that land cover change can have a significant impact on the regional scale climate of China, and that regionally, this impact is of a similar magnitude to increases in CO2 of up to about 430 ppmv. 8A Preliminary Study on the Diversity of Fish Species and Marine Fish Faunas of the South China Sea显示文摘There are 3048 species of fish occurring in the China Seas (CS), of which at least 2321 species are found in the South China Sea (SCS), belonging to 35 orders, 236 families and 822 genera. The fish species diversity is analyzed in this paper based on biogeography, biostatistics, fishing methods, etc. It is found that the regional environment, especially biological factors, plays an important role in the distribution of faunas, and there are two fish faunas in the SCS, one in the north and another in the center and south. This regional division is of value for sustainable fishery production and efficient management of fishery resources.MA. 9Comparative Evaluation of Toleration to Heating and Hypoxia of Three Kinds of Salmonids显示文摘This study was conducted to evaluate the critical thermal maximum(CTMax), the routine metabolism rate(MO_2) and the limiting oxygen saturation(LOS) of three salmonids with four different body weights ranging from 16 g to 131 g. The CTMax was estimated at three different heating rates including 0.5℃ min^(-1), 1℃ h^(-1) and 2℃ d^(-1). Results showed that the CTMax of maple trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss) was the highest, which was followed by steelhead trout(O. mykiss) and Atlantic salmon(Salmon salar). The CTMax of the salmonid fish decreased with the increment of body weight, and was significantly influenced by the heating rate. The MO_2 of the salmonid fish increased with the increment of temperature, and decreased with the increment of body weight. Suffocation points of the fish decreased with increasing body weight and temperature. Steelhead trout was more tolerant to hypoxia than maple trout and Atlantic salmon, while the MO_2 of Atlantic salmon was the highest among these three salmonids. The LOS of the fish generally had a positive trend with temperature and body weight, and the LOS of steelhead trout was significantly lower than that of maple trout and Atlantic salmon. In conclusion, maple trout was the most tolerant kind to high temperature, while steelhead trout was the most tolerant to hypoxia among three kinds of salmonids. 11Methylation Status of the Follistatin Gene at Different Development Stages of Japanese Flounder(Paralichthys olivaceus)显示文摘Follistatin(Fst) is a hyperplasia factor that plays a crucial role in muscle development.DNA methylation,a significant process,regulates gene expression.The aim of our study is to examine the DNA methylation and expression patterns of Fst gene at five different development stages of Japanese flounder(stage A,7 dph;stage B,90 dph;stage C,about 180 dph;stage D,about 24 months;stage E,about 36 months).The muscle tissue of Japanese flounder was obtained at different development stages in this experiment.DNA methylation levels in the promoter and exon 2 of Fst were determined by bisulfite sequencing,and the relative expression of the Fst gene at the five stages was measured by quantitative PCR.The results showed that the lowest methylation level was at stage A and the highest methylation level was at stage B.Moreover,the highest expression level of the Fst gene was observed at stage A.The m RNA abundance was negatively correlated with DNA methylation level.Three Cp G islands in the promoter region and three Cp G islands in exon 2 of Fst were found in the binding sequence of the putative transcription factor.These results offered a theoretical basis for the mechanism of Fst gene regulation to muscle development at different development stages.HUANG Yajuan HU Nan SI Yufeng LI Siping WU Shuxian ZHANG Meizhao WEN Haishen LI Jifang LI Yun HE Feng 2018Journal of Ocean University of China2018,17,5:0
