| 1 | A review of the large-scale production of carbon nanotubes:The practice of nanoscale process engineering显示文摘Carbon nanotubes(CNTs) are nanomaterials that have attracted great research interest because of their unique properties and promising applications.The controllable synthesis of CNTs is a precondition for their broad application.In this review,we consider nanoscale process engineering and assess recent progress in the mass production of ultra-long,inexpensive CNTs with good alignment as well as tunability in wall number and diameter for fundamental and engineering science applications across multiple scales.Cutting-edge nanoscale process engineering research in the areas of physics,chemistry,materials,engineering,ecology,and social science will allow us to obtain high added value and multi-functional advanced CNTs.The synthesis of CNTs with controllable chirality,good-alignment,and predetermined sizes and lengths still presents great challenges.Through multidisciplinary scientific research,advanced CNT-based materials will promote the development of a sustainable society. | HUANG JiaQi ZHANG Qiang ZHAO MengQiang WEI Fei | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,2: | 9 |
| 2 | In Silico Screening for Microsatellite Markers from Expressed Sequence Tags of Porphyra yezoensis (Bangiales, Rhodophyta)显示文摘The genomic resources of Porphyra yezoensis expressed sequence tags (ESTs) were utilized to identify simple sequence repeats (SSRs), or microsatellites. This method took the advantage of using ESTs and microsatellites either for the establishment of gene identities or for the acquisition of high polymorphism. The microsatellites can be used as gene markers when microsatellites are tagged to genes. Revealed by bioinformatics analysis, 1 162 out of 21 954 ESTs contained microsatellites and cluster analysis indi- cated that 984 of these ESTs fell into 112 contigs, while the other 178 ESTs were singletons. A total of 290 unique SSR-containing genes were identified. The AAC SSRs were the most populous type of microsatellites. | 3 | Gradient Effect on Farmers' Income in the Mountain Areas and its Implication for Poverty Alleviation Strategies:Empirical Analysis from the Upper Reach of Minjiang River,China显示文摘Using four types of settlements in the upper reach of Minjiang River as case,we establish structural models in farmers' income of different settlement patterns based on rural household panel data to reveal the gradient effect on farmers' income and determinants.The results indicate that:(1) except the resettlement area,the incomes for farmers living in river valley,semi-mountain,and high-mountain settlements present a decreasing trend with the elevation increasing;on the contrary,their nonfarm earnings show an increasing trend with the elevation decreasing;(2) from the effect on farmers' income,there is a common feature that the nonfarm earnings and farming incomes have significant positive effects,and family size and productive expenditure have significant negative effects.One exception to this is the productive expenditure,which becomes insignificant in the model of resettlement area;(3) from the way of increasing farmers' income and alleviating poverty,there are great differences for four types of settlements in mountain areas,however,the improvement of agricultural product sales,agricultural production subsidies,the expansion for nonfarm employment,and the control of the family's size are the most effective approaches for poverty alleviation. | FANG Yiping FAN Jie SHEN Maoying SONG Mengqiang | 2012 | Journal of Mountain Science2012,9,6: | 7 |

| 6 | Cloning and Analysis of Calmodulin Gene from Porphyra yezoensis Ueda (Bangiales, Rhodophyta)显示文摘In order to understand the mechanisms of signal transduction and anti-desiccation mechanisms of Porphyra yezoensis, cDNA and its genomic sequence of Calmodulin gene (CaM) was cloned by the technique of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based on the analysis of P. yezoensis ESTs from dbEST database. The result shows that the full-length cDNA of CaM consists of 603 bps including an ORF encoding for 151 amino acids and a terminate codon UGA, while the length of genomic sequence is 1231 bps including 2 exons and 1 intron. The average GC content of the coding region is 58.77%, while the GC content of the third position of this gene is as high as 82.23%. Four Ca2+ binding sites (EF-hand) are found in this gene. The predicted molecular mass of the deduced peptide is 16688.72 Da and the pI is 4.222. By aligning with known CaM genes, the similarity of CaM gene sequence with homologous genes in Chlamydomonas incerta and Chlamydomonas reinhardtii is 72.7% and 72.2% respectively, and the similarity of the deduced amino acid sequence of CaM gene with homologous genes in C. incerta and C. reinhardtii are both 71.5%. | 7 | Fiber-tip polymer clamped-beam probe for high-sensitivity nanoforce measurements显示文摘Micromanipulation and biological,material science,and medical applications often require to control or measure the forces asserted on small objects.Here,we demonstrate for the first time the microprinting of a novel fiber-tip-polymer clamped-beam probe micro-force sensor for the examination of biological samples.The proposed sensor consists of two bases,a clamped beam,and a force-sensing probe,which were developed using a femtosecond-laser-induced two-photon polymerization(TPP)technique.Based on the finite element method(FEM),the static performance of the structure was simulated to provide the basis for the structural design.A miniature all-fiber micro-force sensor of this type exhibited an ultrahigh force sensitivity of 1.51 nmμN−1,a detection limit of 54.9 nN,and an unambiguous sensor measurement range of~2.9 mN.The Young’s modulus of polydimethylsiloxane,a butterfly feeler,and human hair were successfully measured with the proposed sensor.To the best of our knowledge,this fiber sensor has the smallest force-detection limit in direct contact mode reported to date,comparable to that of an atomic force microscope(AFM).This approach opens new avenues towards the realization of small-footprint AFMs that could be easily adapted for use in outside specialized laboratories.As such,we believe that this device will be beneficial for high-precision biomedical and material science examination,and the proposed fabrication method provides a new route for the next generation of research on complex fiber-integrated polymer devices. | Mengqiang Zou Changrui Liao Shen Liu Cong Xiong Cong Zhao Jinlai Zhao Zongsong Gan Yanping Chen Kaiming Yang Dan Liu Ying Wang Yiping Wang | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,9: | 3 |

| 12 | 3D printed fiber-optic nanomechanical bioprobe显示文摘Ultrasensitive nanomechanical instruments,e.g.atomic force microscopy(AFM),can be used to perform delicate biomechanical measurements and reveal the complex mechanical environment of biological processes.However,these instruments are limited because of their size and complex feedback system.In this study,we demonstrate a miniature fiber optical nanomechanical probe(FONP)that can be used to detect the mechanical properties of single cells and in vivo tissue measurements.A FONP that can operate in air and in liquids was developed by programming a microcantilever probe on the end face of a single-mode fiber using femtosecond laser two-photon polymerization nanolithography.To realize stiffness matching of the FONP and sample,a strategy of customizing the microcantilever’s spring constant according to the sample was proposed based on structure-correlated mechanics.As a proof-of concept,three FONPs with spring constants varying from 0.421 N m^(−1)to 52.6 N m^(−1)by more than two orders of magnitude were prepared.The highest microforce sensitivity was 54.5 nmμN^(−1)and the detection limit was 2.1 nN.The Young’s modulus of heterogeneous soft materials,such as polydimethylsiloxane,muscle tissue of living mice,onion cells,and MCF-7 cells,were successfully measured,which validating the broad applicability of this method.Our strategy provides a universal protocol for directly programming fiber-optic AFMs.Moreover,this method has no special requirements for the size and shape of living biological samples,which is infeasible when using commercial AFMs.FONP has made substantial progress in realizing basic biological discoveries,which may create new biomedical applications that cannot be realized by current AFMs. | Mengqiang Zou Changrui Liao Yanping Chen Lei Xu Shuo Tang Gaixia Xu Ke Ma Jiangtao Zhou Zhihao Cai Bozhe Li Cong Zhao Zhourui Xu Yuanyuan Shen Shen Liu Ying Wang Zongsong Gan Hao Wang Xuming Zhang Sandor Kasas Yiping Wang | 2023 | International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2023,5,1: | 1 |
