1Rapid report of the 8 January 2022 M_(S)6.9 Menyuan earthquake,Qinghai,China显示文摘The M_(S)6.9 Menyuan earthquake in Qinghai Province,west China is the largest earthquake by far in 2022.The earthquake occurs in a tectonically active region,with a background b-value of 0.87 within 100 km of the epicenter that we derived from the unified catalog produced by China Earthquake Networks Center since late 2008.Field surveys have revealed surface ruptures extending 22 km along strike,with a maximum ground displacement of 2.1 m.We construct a finite fault model with constraints from In SAR observations,which showed multiple fault segments during the Menyuan earthquake.The major slip asperity is confined within 10 km at depth,with the maximum slip of 3.5 m.Near real-time back-projection results of coseismic radiation indicate a northwest propagating rupture that lasted for~10 s.Intensity estimates from the back-projection results show up to a Mercalli scale of IX near the ruptured area,consistent with instrumental measurements and the observations from the field surveys.Aftershock locations(up to January 21,2022)exhibit two segments,extending to~20 km in depth.The largest one reaches M_(S)5.3,locating near the eastern end of the aftershock zone.Although the location and the approximate magnitude of the mainshock had been indicated by previous studies based on paleoearthquake records and seismic gap,as well as estimated stressing rate on faults,significant surfacebreaching rupture leads to severe damage of the high-speed railway system,which poses a challenge in accurately assessing earthquake hazards and risks,and thus demands further investigations of the rupture behaviors for crustal earthquakes.Hongfeng Yang Dun Wang Rumeng Guo Mengyu Xie Yang Zang Yue Wang Qiang Yao Chuang Cheng Yanru An Yingying Zhang 2022Earthquake Research Advances2022,2,1:14
2Debromination of decabromodiphenyl ether by organo-montmorillonitesupported nanoscale zero-valent iron: Preparation, characterization and influence factors显示文摘An organo-montmorillonite-supported nanoscale zero-valent iron material(M-NZVI) was synthesized to degrade decabromodiphenyl ether(BDE-209). The results showed that nanoscale zero-valent iron had good dispersion on organo-montmorillonite and was present as a core-shell structure with a particle size range of nanoscale iron between 30–90 nm, characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, XRF, ICP-AES, and XPS. The results of the degradation of BDE-209 by M-NZVI showed that the efficiency of M-NZVI in removing BDE-209 was much higher than that of NZVI. 3Estimation and prediction of plastic waste annual input into the sea from China显示文摘Marine plastic debris has been a pervasive issue since the last century, and research on its sources and fates plays a vital role in the establishment of mitigation measures. However, data on the quantity of plastic waste that enters the sea on a certain timescale remain largely unavailable in China. Here, we established a model using material flow analysis method based on life cycle assessment to follow plastic product from primary plastic to plastic waste with statistical data and monitoring data from accurate sources. This model can be used to estimate and forecast the annual input of plastic waste into the sea from China until 2020. In 2011, 0.547 3–0.751 5 million tons of plastic waste entered the seas in China, with a growth rate of 4.55% per year until 2017. And the amount will decrease to0.257 1 to 0.353 1 million tons in 2020 under the influence of governmental management. 5Assessment of genetic variation in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) inbred lines using SSR molecular markers显示文摘A study was conducted to determine the genetic diversity of 39 determinate and indeterminate tomato inbred lines collected from China,Japan,S. Korea,and USA. Using 35 SSR polymorphic markers,a total of 150 alleles were found with moderate levels of diversity,and a high number of unique alleles existing in these tomato lines. The mean number of alleles per locus was 4.3 and the average poly-morphism information content (PIC) was 0.31. Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA) clustering at genetic similarity value of 0.85 grouped the inbred lines into four groups,where one USA cultivar formed a separate and more distant cluster. The most similar inbred lines are from USA,both with determinate type,whereas the most different lines are from USA (Us-16) and Japan (Ja-2) with determinate and indeterminate growth habit,respectively. Clustering was consistent with the known information regarding geographical location and growth habit. 9Virtual Simulation System with Path-following Control for Lunar Rovers Moving on Rough Terrain显示文摘Virtual simulation technology is of great importance for the teleoperation of lunar rovers during the exploration phase,as well as the design of locomotion systems,performance evaluation,and control strategy verification during the R&D phase.The currently used simulation methods for lunar rovers have several disadvantages such as poor fidelity for wheel-soil interaction mechanics,difficulty in simulating rough terrains,and high complexity making it difficult to realize mobility control in simulation systems.This paper presents an approach for the construction of a virtual simulation system that integrates the features of 3D modeling,wheel-soil interaction mechanics,dynamics analysis,mobility control,and visualization for lunar rovers.Wheel-soil interaction experiments are carried out to test the forces and moments acted on a lunar rover’s wheel by the soil with a vertical load of 80 N and slip ratios of 0,0.03,0.05,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4,and 0.6.The experimental results are referenced in order to set the parameters’ values for the PAC2002 tire model of the ADAMS/Tire module.In addition,the rough lunar terrain is simulated with 3DS Max software after analyzing its characteristics,and a data-transfer program is developed with Matlab to simulate the 3D reappearance of a lunar environment in ADAMS.The 3D model of a lunar rover is developed by using Pro/E software and is then imported into ADAMS.Finally,a virtual simulation system for lunar rovers is developed.A path-following control strategy based on slip compensation for a six-wheeled lunar rover prototype is researched.The controller is implemented by using Matlab/Simulink to carry out joint simulations with ADAMS.The designed virtual lunar rover could follow the planned path on a rough terrain.This paper can also provide a reference scheme for virtual simulation and performance analysis of rovers moving on rough lunar terrains.GAO Haibo DENG Zongquan DING Liang WANG Mengyu 2012Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,1:5

11Quality prediction of freshly-harvested wheat using Gluto Peak during postharvest maturation显示文摘Much recent researches have demonstrated that the quality of freshly-harvested wheat could be improved during postharvest maturation by determinating the rheological properties.However,this process is time-consuming and complex.This study aimed to provide a rapid and convenient method for predicting wheat quality during postharvest maturation by use of Gluto Peak device.Farinograph and Extensograph were used to determine the rheological properties of four wheat samples(WT1,WT2,WT3,WT4)stored under different conditions(WT1:15℃,50%RH;WT2:20℃65%RH;WT3:28℃75%RH;WT4:35℃85%RH)for a total of 10 weeks,and Gluto Peak test was used to determine the gluten aggregation properties of the four samples.Correlation analysis was also conducted between the rheological properties and the gluten aggregation properties.Results of rheological properties showed that all Extensographic properties(dough extensibility,resistance,maximum resistance and area)of the four samples increased along with the storage time,and the Farinographic properties(water absorption,dough development time,dough stability time,and farinograph quality number(FQN))had the same tendency,indicating that the rheological properties were improved considerably with storage time extending.The Gluto Peak curves revealed that Peak Maximum Time(PMT),Brabender Equivalents Maximum(BEM)and Energy to Maximum Torque(En MT)of wheat flour of the four samples varied greatly,particularly the PMT and En MT of the samples WT3 and WT4 increased remarkably.Results of correlation analysis showed that En MT had significant correlation with water absorption and area(P<0.05)for sample WT1,and also showed significant correlation with dough development time(P<0.05)for sample WT2.For sample WT3,PMT was significantly correlated with the dough development time,extensibility,area(P<0.05),and FQN(P<0.01);and En MT was in significant correction with water absorption(P<0.01),and dough stability time,FQN,extensibility,maximum resistance and area(P<0.05).For sample WT4,both PMT and En MT had significant correction with area(P<0.05).The study indicated that the Gluto Peak test is effective in quality prediction for the freshly-harvested wheat during postharvest maturation,making it possible to realize rapid wheat quality detection and evaluation in storage period.Mengyu Mu Ruidie Geng Yuanyuan Yue Feng Jia Xia Zhang Jinshui Wang 2021Grain & Oil Science and Technology2021,4,4:5
12Mitochondrial localization of ORF346 causes pollen abortion in alloplasmic male sterility显示文摘The Nsa cytoplasmic male sterility(CMS) system confers stable male sterility and offers great potential for production of hybrid seeds in oilseed rape. However, genes responsible for male sterility in Nsa CMS have not been identified. By mitochondrial genome sequencing of Nsa CMS and its maintainer line,we identified in an Nsa CMS line several chimeric genes encoding hypothetical proteins harboring transmembrane domains. One novel chimeric gene orf346 showed high identity with cox1 at the 50 terminal region and was co-transcribed with nad3 and rps12 genes. Transgenic plants of orf346 fused with or without mitochondrial targeting peptide conferred complete male sterility in Arabidopsis. ORF346 was mitochondrion-localized. Expression of orf346 in Escherichia coli inhibited bacterial growth, with excessive accumulation of reactive oxygen species and decreased ATP content. These results reveal a link between the newly identified mitochondrial gene orf346 and the abortion of Nsa CMS. 13Flavor Characteristics of Different Crops of Laver(Porphyra yezoensis)During One Harvest Cycle显示文摘The taste and odor analysis of the first,second,fourth and sixth crops of laver(Porphyra yezoensis)was obtained by electronic tongue,taste-related compound,electronic nose and gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometer(GC-IMS).Through the detection of the electronic tongue,the pleasant tastes such as umami and richness are more intense in the early crops,which is consistent with the analysis results of free amino acids and flavored nucleotides.The electronic nose can clearly distinguish between different laver crops.GC-IMS separated and identified 36 volatile components from lavers,mainly including aldehydes,ketones,alcohols,esters,acids and aromatic substances.For the early harvested crops,nonanal,octanal,hexanal and benzaldehyde have a significant contribution to odor because of the high concentration and low threshold of these compounds.For the later harvested crops,the concentration of most ketones and some aldehydes increased.1-Octen-3-ol,malondialdehyde and heptanal constituted the main odor characteristics.CAO Rong HU Mengyue ZHAO Ling WANG Lianzhu LIU Qi 2021Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,1:5

15Pancreatic head cancer: Open or minimally invasive pancreaticoduodenectomy?显示文摘Pancreatic head cancer still represents an insurmountable barrier for patients and pancreatic surgeons.Pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD)continues to be the operative standard of care and potentially curative procedure for pancreatic head cancer.Despite the rapid development of minimally invasive techniques,whether the efficacy of minimally invasive pancreaticoduodenectomy(MIPD)is noninferior or superior to open pancreaticoduodenectomy(OPD)remains unclear.In this review,we summarized the history of OPD and MIPD and the latest staging and classification information for pancreatic head cancer as well as the proposed recommendations for MIPD indications for patients with pancreatic head cancer.By reviewing the MIPD-vs.OPD-related literature,we found that MIPD shows noninferiority or superiority to OPD in terms of safety,feasibility,enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)and several short-term and long-term outcomes.In addition,we analyzed and summarized the different MIPD outcomes in the USA,Europe and China.Certain debates over MIPD have continued,however,selection bias,the large number of low-volume centers,the steep MIPD learning curve,high conversion rate and administration of neoadjuvant therapy may limit the application of MIPD for pancreatic head cancer.Mengyu Feng Zhe Cao Zhiwei Sun Taiping Zhang Yupei Zhao 2019Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,6:4
16Direct site-specific treatment of skin cancer using doxorubicin-loaded nanofibrous membranes显示文摘Doxorubicin(DOX) is widely used in cancer therapy. However, its application is sometimes limited by its adverse cardiotoxicity and delivery pathways. In our study, we prepared a topical implantable delivery device for controlled drug release and site-specific treatment. The core region consisted of poly(lactic co-glycolic acid) and poly-caprolactone, whereas the shell region was composed of cross-linked gelatin.DOX was enclosed in the core region of a core-shell nanofiber obtained by electrospinning. This implantable delivery device was implanted on the top of the melanoma in a mouse model, which had shown a DOX-controlled release profile with sustained and sufficient local concentration against melanoma growth in mice with negligible side effects. Compared with the traditional intravenous administration,the implantable device allows precisely localized treatment and therefore can reduce the dose, decrease the injection frequency, and ensure antitumor efficacy associated with lower side effects to normal tissues. 17A novel intronic circular RNA,circGNG7,inhibits head and neck squamous cell carcinoma progression by blocking the phosphorylation of heat shock protein 27 at Ser78 and Ser82显示文摘Background:There is increasing evidence that circular RNAs(circRNAs)play a significant role in pathological processes including tumorigenesis.In contrast to exonic circRNAs,which are the most frequently reported circRNAs in cancer so far,the studies of intronic circRNAs have been greatly lagged behind.Here,we aimed to investigate the regulatory role of intronic circRNAs in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC).Methods:We conducted whole-transcriptome sequencing with four pairs of primary tumor tissues and adjacent normal tissues from HNSCC patients.Then,we characterized circGNG7 expression in HNSCC tissues and cell lines and explored its association with the prognosis of HNSCC patients.We also identified interactions between circGNG7 and functional proteins,which alter downstream signaling that regulate HNSCC progression.Results:In this study,we identified a new intronic circRNA,circGNG7,and validated its functional roles in HNSCC progression.CircGNG7 was predominately localized to the cytoplasm,and its expression was downregulated in both HNSCC tissues andCAL27,CAL33,SCC4,SCC9,HN6,and HN30 cells.Low expression of circGNG7 was significantly correlated with poor prognosis in HNSCC patients.Consistent with this finding,overexpression of circGNG7 strongly inhibited tumor cell proliferation,colony formation,in vitro migration,and in vivo tumor growth.Mechanistically,the expression of circGNG7 in HNSCC cells was regulated by the transcription factor SMAD family member 4(SMAD4).Importantly,we discovered that circGNG7 could bind to serine residues 78 and 82 of the functional heat shock protein 27(HSP27),occupying its phosphorylation sites and hindering its phosphorylation,which reduced HSP27-JNK/P38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)oncogenic signaling.Downregulation of circGNG7 expression in HNSCC increased HSP27-JNK/P38 MAPK signaling and promoted tumor progression.Conclusions:Our results revealed that a new intronic circRNA,circGNG7,functions as a strong tumor suppressor and that circGNG7/HSP27-JNK/P38 MAPK signaling is a novel mechanism by which HNSCC progression can be controlled.Houyu Ju Zhenrong Hu Dongliang Wei Jinyun Huang Xinyi Zhang Mengyu Rui Zhi Li Xiaomeng Zhang Jingzhou Hu Wei Guo Guoxin Ren 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,11:4
18Quantification of multi-antibiotic resistant opportunistic pathogenic bacteria in bioaerosols in and around a pharmaceutical wastewater treatment plant显示文摘Pharmaceutical wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs) are thought to be a 'seedbed' and reservoirs for multi-antibiotic resistant pathogenic bacteria which can be transmitted to the air environment through aeration. We quantified airborne multi-antibiotic resistance in a full-scale plant to treat antibiotics-producing wastewater by collecting bioaerosol samples from December2014 to July 2015. Gram-negative opportunistic pathogenic bacteria(GNOPB) were isolated, and antibiotic susceptibility tests against 18 commonly used antibiotics, including 11 β-lactam antibiotics, 3 aminoglycosides, 2 fluoroquinolones, 1 furan and 1 sulfonamide, were conducted.More than 45% of airborne bacteria isolated from the pharmaceutical WWTP were resistant to three or more antibiotics, and some opportunistic pathogenic strains were resistant to 16 antibiotics, whereas 45.3% and 50.3% of the strains isolated from residential community and municipal WWTP showed resistance to three or more antibiotics. The calculation of the multiple antibiotic resistance(MAR) index demonstrated that the air environment in the pharmaceutical WWTP was highly impacted by antibiotic resistance, while the residential community and municipal WWTP was less impacted by antibiotic resistance. In addition, we determined that the dominant genera of opportunistic pathogenic bacteria isolated from all bioaerosol samples were Acinetobacter, Alcaligenes, Citrobacter, Enterobacter, Escherichia, Klebsiella, Pantoea, Pseudomonas and Sphingomonas. 20Structural parameter optimization for novel internal-loop iron–carbon micro-electrolysis reactors using computational fluid dynamics显示文摘It is generally recognized that internal-loop reactors are well-developed mass and heat-transfer multiphase flow reactors. However, the internal flow field in the internal-loop reactor is influenced by the structure parameter of the reactor, which has a great effect on the reaction efficiency. In this study, the computational fluid dynamics simulation method was used to determine the influence of reactor structure on flow field, and a volume-offluid model was employed to simulate the gas–liquid, two-phase flow of the internal-loop micro-electrolysis reactor. Hydrodynamic factors were optimized when the height-to-diameter ratio was 4:1, diameter ratio was9:1, draft-tube axial height was 90 mm. Three-dimensional simulations for the water distributor were carried out, and the results suggested that the optimal conditions are as follows: the number of water distribution pipes was four, and an inhomogeneous water distribution was used.
