| 1 | Manganese enhances the antitumor function of CD8^(+)T cells by inducing type I interferon production显示文摘The presence of cytosolic DNA at tumor sites and the activation of the cGAS-STING pathway have been implicated in the activation of antitumor immune responses.1,2,3 Manganese (Mn) is a necessary trace element for intracellular activities. It plays important roles in development, digestion, reproduction, antioxidant defense, energy production, immunity, and neuronal activity regulation.4 Mn was reported to enhance cGAS-STING activation through increased sensitivity to dsDNA during viral infections.5 However, it is unclear whether Mn can enhance antitumor immune functions. Here, we revealed that Mn2+ could inhibit the development of murine hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) through immune modulations. It upregulated IFN-γ and TNF-α production in splenic and tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T cells. Moreover, Mn2+ significantly increased type I interferon (IFN) production and type I IFN-stimulated gene (ISG) expression in tumor-bearing mice. Further analysis revealed that myeloid cells could upregulate type I IFN production and increase costimulatory molecule expression upon Mn2+ stimulation. In vivo depletion of CD8+ T cells or treatment of IFNAR KO mice diminished the antitumor activity of Mn2+, suggesting that the antitumor function of Mn2+ is dependent on both CD8+ T cells and type I IFN signaling. | 2 | Time-dependent mechanical behavior of tough hydrogels under multiaxial stretching显示文摘Understanding the time-dependent mechanical behavior of tough and viscoelastic hydrogels under complex external loading is crucial.In this study,we utilized tough and viscoelastic hydrogels synthesized through the copolymerization of methacrylic acid and methacrylamide as a model system to investigate their mechanical behavior under multiaxial stretching across a wide range of strain rates.Three stretching modes examined were uniaxial,pure shear,and equal biaxial stretching.Our findings show that under equal biaxial stretching,the hydrogels exhibit higher mechanical properties and energy dissipation compared to uniaxial and pure shear stretching,owing to the greater contribution of hydrogen bonds to energy dissipation in the former stretching mode.Additionally,employing the time-elongation separability method during the stretching process,we observed that the relaxation of dynamic hydrogen bonds in the hydrogels only depends on stretching time,independent of the elongation ratio and stretching modes.We anticipate that this study will yield valuable contributions to the design of durable load-bearing soft materials,particularly in dealing with complex deformation and strain rate responses. | Yong Liu Yang Chen Jie Zhu Mengze Lu Chuanxia Jiang Zhiwei Fan Taolin Sun | 2023 | International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2023,14,4: | 0 |
| 3 | Responses of arid plant species diversity and composition to environmental factors显示文摘An oasis is a unique natural landscape in arid and semi-arid areas,significant for regulating regional microclimates and hydrological processes in deserts.However,little is known regarding the response of natural oasis plants communities to various environmental factors.Nineteen sample plots(50 m×50 m)were selected in the Daliyabuyi Oasis in the Taklimakan Desert hinterland based on the location of groundwater monitoring wells and 76 vegetation quadrats(25 m×25 m)were established.A two-way indicator species analysis,Mantel test,detrended correspondence analysis,canonical correspondence analysis(CCA),and hierarchical partitioning were used to provide an in-depth analysis of community classification,species composition,and environmental interpretation of the oasis.A generalized linear model was used to verify the results which showed that the current oasis community could be divided into four types according to the dominant species,which is controlled by soil moisture.Measurement of species composition and distribution of communities showed significant differences between species diversity of individual community types.Variations in groundwater depth affects patterns of species diversity which is sensitive to richness,while the degree of surface water disturbance affects the pattern of species evenness.Moreover,the CCA ordination map showed that community distribution and diversity characteristics have their own preferences in habitat gradients.The study concluded that the species dominance of the community and the composition and distribution are not dominated by a single factor.There are differences in the scale and effect of different water resource types in maintaining community characteristics. | Haobo Shi Feng Zhang Qingdong Shi Mengze Li Yue Dai Zipeng Zhang Chuanmei Zhu | 2023 | Journal of Forestry Research2023,34,6: | 0 |
| 4 | Distributed H_(∞)filtering of nonlinear systems with random topology by an event-triggered protocol显示文摘Applying an event-triggered protocol,this paper proposes a distributed H_(∞)filter design for nonlinear perturbed systems under fading measurements with random topology.Nonlinearities in this system obey the one-sided Lipschitz constraint,which embraces the conventional Lipschitz condition as a special case.The sensor network allows random variations of the interconnection strengths between adjacent nodes,and the connection coefficient is determined as the product of a constant and a stochastic variable with a known probabilistic feature.To reduce the unnecessary data transmission and efficiently use the limited bandwidth,the transmissions are orchestrated by an event-triggered regulating strategy.A stochastic bounded real lemma is established for the resulting error dynamics.Based on the presented matrix decomposition,which removes the direct coupling between the statistical information of interconnection strengths and the filter gain,the distributed H_(∞)filter gain can be explicitly expressed and easily solved.The usefulness of the theoretical method is demonstrated in a simulation study. | Yun CHEN Mengze ZHU Renquan LU Anke XUE | 2021 | Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,10: | 0 |
| 5 | Systematic investigation of SO_(2) adsorption and desorption by porous powdered activated coke:Interaction between adsorption temperature and desorption energy consumption显示文摘Porous carbon materials have been widely used for the removal of SO_(2) from flue gas.The main objective of this work is to clarify the effects of adsorption temperature on SO_(2) adsorption and desorption energy consumption.Coal-based porous powdered activated coke(PPAC)prepared in the drop-tube reactor was used in this study.The N_(2) adsorption measurements and Fourier transform infrared spectrometer analysis show that PPAC exhibits a developed pore structure and rich functional groups.The experimental results show that with a decrease in adsorption temperature in the range of 50–150℃,the adsorption capacity of SO_(2) increases linearly;meanwhile,the adsorption capacity of H_(2)O increases,resulting in the increase in desorption energy consumption per unit mass of adsorbent.The processes of SO_(2) and H_(2)O desorption were determined by the temperature-programmed desorption test,and the desorption energies for each species were calculated.Considering the energy consumption per unit of desorption and the total amount of adsorbent,the optimal adsorption temperature yielding the minimum total energy consumption of regeneration is calculated.This study systematically demonstrates the effect of adsorption temperature on the adsorption–desorption process,providing a basis for energy saving and emission reduction in desulfurization system design. | Jun Li Liqiang Zhang Xiao Zhu Mengze Zhang Tai Feng Xiqiang Zhao Tao Wang Zhanlong Song Chunyuan Ma | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,8: | 0 |
