1Anti-inflammatory effects of fatty acids isolated from Chromolaena odorata显示文摘Objective:To identify inhibitors of nitric oxide production and NF-κB activity from Chromolaena odorata(C.odorata).Methods:The compounds isolated from the aerial parts of C.odorata by bioassay-guided fractionation were investigated for their inhibitory effects on the NO production and NF-κB activity in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells.Results:Six fatty acids (S)-coriolic acid(1),(S)-coriolic acid methyl ester(2),(5)-15,16-didehydrocoriolic acid(3),(S)- 15,16-didehydrocoriolic acid methyl ester(4),linoleamide(5) and linolenamide(6) were isolated. All compounds inhibited the NO production at concentrations consistent with those required for NF-κB inhibition.Compound 2 was the most active with the IC50 values of 5.22 and 5.73μM. The addition of a double bond in the fatty chain decreased the inhibitory effects while the methyl esterification increased the activities.Conclusions:The fatty acid components in C.odorata with NF-κB inhibitory activity could explain the anti-inflammation property of this plant in traditional medicine.This study could also contribute to the better use of C.odorata for human health care.Tran Thi Hong Hanh Dan Thi Thuy Hang Chau Van Minh Nguyen Tien Dat 2011Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011,4,10:3

7Hybrid model to optimize object-based land cover classification by meta-heuristic algorithm:an example for supporting urban management in Ha Noi,Viet Nam显示文摘This study proposed a novel object-based hybrid classification model named GMNN that combines Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm(GOA)and the multiple-class Neural network(MNN)for urban pattern detection in Hanoi,Vietnam.Four bands of SPOT 7 image and derivable NDVI,NDWI were used to generate image segments with associated attributes by PCI Geomatics software.These segments were classified into four urban surface types(namely water,impervious surface,vegetation and bare soil)by the proposed model.Alternatively,three training and validation datasets of different sizes were used to verify the robustness of this model.For all tests,the overall accuracies of the classification were approximately 87%,and the Area under Receiver Operating Characteristic curves for each land cover type was 0.97.Also,the performance of this model was examined by comparing several statistical indicators with common benchmark classifiers.The results showed that GMNN out-performed established methods in all comparable indicators.These results suggested that our hybrid model was successfully deployed in the study area and could be used as an alternative classification method for urban land cover studies.In a broader sense,classification methods will be enriched with the active and fast-growing contribution of metaheuristic algorithms.Quang-Thanh Bui Manh Pham Van Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang Quoc-Huy Nguyen Nguyen Xuan Linh Pham Minh Hai Tran Anh Tuan Pham Van Cu 2019International Journal of Digital Earth2019,12,10:0

12Tuning the particle size,physical properties,and photocatalytic activity of Ag_(3)PO_(4)materials by changing the Ag^(+)/PO_(4)^(3-)ratio显示文摘This study demonstrates the influence of the Ag^(+)/PO_(4)^(3-)ratio in precursor solution on the crystal structural formation,morphology,physical properties,and photocatalytic performance of a Ag_(3)PO_(4)photocatalyst that is fabricated,using a facile precipitation method,from AgNO_(3)and Na2HPO_(4)·12H_(2)O.The material characterizations were carried out using x-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy(EDX),Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET)surface area,Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)absorption,Raman scattering,x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),UV-vis absorption,and photoluminescence(PL).The results show that Ag_(3)PO_(4)crystallizes better when the excess PO_(4)^(3-)content increases,and the lattice parameters decrease slightly,while the crystal diameter and the particle size increase.This change is also observed in the Raman scattering and FTIR spectra with the increase in the vibration frequency of the[PO_(4)]group.The compression of the[PO_(4)]unit was also confirmed in the XPS spectra with the shift of P 2p peaks toward higher binding energy.The photocatalytic results showed that the samples synthesized from excess PO_(4)^(3-)solution exhibited higher photocatalytic performance compared to the sample with a Ag^(+)/PO_(4)^(3-)ratio of 3:1.A sample prepared from the precursor solution with a Ag^(+)/PO_(4)^(3-)ratio of 3:1.5 was optimal for RhB decomposition under both visible light and natural sunlight,completely decomposing 10 ppm RhB after 15 minutes of xenon lamp irradiation and after 60 minutes under solar light irradiation.This is attributed to the high crystallinity,small particle size and low electron–hole recombination rate of the sample.Hung N M Oanh L T M Chung D P Thang D V Mai V T Hang L T Minh N V 2023Chinese Physics B2023,32,3:0
13An Experience from Japan:The Challenge to Establish a Plastic Waste Recycling-Based Society in Vietnam显示文摘As a result of expanding economies and a growing pattern of mass production,mass consumption,and mass disposal,these last decades have seen an increase in the discharge of domestic waste on a global basis.Used plastic products are frequently pathogen-contaminated,and ought to be handled as hazardous waste.We have learned that companies and policy makers in Vietnam want to transform plastic waste to value and to create its first zero plastic waste cities,but they struggle to make connections,especially across industries,material types and districts.This paper gives a prospective outlook on plastic waste management practices in Vietnam.Based on Japanese plastic waste recycling basic laws systematically,we also discuss and propose the future tasks to apply them in Vietnam.The initiative is expected to help governments,enterprises,and social organizations develop knowledge,capacity,policy planning and plans of action to reduce plastic waste pollution.Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang Truong Minh Hong Do Thi Hong Hoa 2020Journal of Environmental Science and Engineering(A)2020,9,5:0
