| 4 | Genetic association of apolipoprotein E polymorphisms with inflammatory bowel disease显示文摘AIM:To study the association of apolipoprotein E(APOE) polymorphisms with the susceptibility ofinflammatory bowel disease(IBD) in Saudi patients.METHODS:APOE genotyping was performed to evaluate the allele and genotype frequencies in 378 Saudi subjects including IBD patients with ulcerative colitis(n = 84) or Crohn's disease(n = 94) and matched controls(n = 200) using polymerase chain reaction and reverse-hybridization techniques.RESULTS:The frequencies of the APOE ε2 allele and ε2/ε3 and ε2/ε4 genotypes were significantly higher in IBD patients than in controls(P < 0.05),suggesting that the ε2 allele and its heterozygous genotypes may increase the susceptibility to IBD.On the contrary,the frequencies of the ε3 allele and ε3/ε3 genotype were lower in IBD patients as compared to controls,suggesting a protective effect of APOE ε3 for IBD.The prevalence of the ε4 allele was also higher in the patient group compared to controls,suggesting that the ε4 allele may also increase the risk of IBD.Our results also indicated that the APOE ε4 allele was associated with an early age of IBD onset.No effect of gender or type of IBD(familial or sporadic) on the frequency distribution of APOE alleles and genotypes was noticed in this study.CONCLUSION:APOE polymorphism is associated with risk of developing IBD and early age of onset in Saudi patients,though further studies with a large-size population are warranted. | Ebtissam Saleh Al-Meghaiseeb Mulfi Mubarak Al-Otaibi Abdulrahman Al-Robayan Reem Al-Amro Ahmd Saad Al-Malki Misbahul Arfin Abdulrahman K Al-Asmari | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,3: | 1 |

| 7 | A software-based approach in designing a rooftop bifacial PV system for the North Hall of Residence, IUT显示文摘Bifacial rooftop photovoltaic panels appear to be an excellent means of power generation in this era of urbanization,especially for land-limited countries like Bangladesh.This paper presents a software-based approach to design and simulate a bifacial solar-panel-based energy model on the rooftop of the North Hall of Residence of the Islamic University of Technology,Gazipur.This vertically mounted model investigates the feasibility and applicability of such an energy model in a university residence,situated in a load-shedding-prone area.Hence,three prominent software platforms,namely PVSOL,PVsyst and System Advisor Model(SAM),are brought into action and rigorous simulations are performed for three different orientations;promising outcomes are observed in terms of annual energy yield,bifacial gain(BG)and consumption coverage of the grid and PV model.The annual energy demand of the North Hall is~444733.5 kWh.The three orientations can generate annually 92508.62,94643.48 and 86758.94 kWh,respectively.Hence,it is evident that the proposed orientations can supply almost 19-21%of the site’s annual demand.Monthly BG analysis shows an overall increase in energy gain of 13%,15.6%and 6%for Orientation-1,Orientation-2 and Orientation-3,respectively.A rigorous comparative analysis and deviation analysis among the software results has been accomplished to gain more insight into the feasibility of the proposed system.Thus,we have focused on a detailed software-based estimation of energy production for different orientations of the PV panels,considering several factors,which will provide prior knowledge and assessment before going for hardware implementation in the future. | Abdullah Al Mehadi Misbahul Alam Chowdhury Mirza Muntasir Nishat Fahim Faisal Md Minhajul Islam | 2021 | Clean Energy2021,5,3: | 1 |

| 10 | Inherently Sinusoidal Single-phase Voltage Source Inverter Based on Modified Cuk Cell显示文摘Renewable energy has become important for electricity generation because of the high air pollution associated with conventional fossil-based energy systems.Conventional fossil-based power plants are gradually transitioning by incorporating renewable energy sources,such as photovoltaic(PV)cells.In a PV system,an inverter converts DC power from solar panels to AC power required to serve common electrical loads.A conventional H-bridge inverter topology has several disadvantages,such as the voltage being not sinusoidal,switching the DC voltage and high common-mode voltage.The common-mode voltage can cause a large leaked capacitive current,which can result in undesirable operation in solar power applications.A common solution to this problem is the addition of a large filter to the input or output of an inverter.An inherent sinusoidal voltage source inverter based on a modified Cuk converter as its basic cell,which simultaneously generates a sinusoidal output voltage and a lower common-mode voltage,is proposed.The proposed topology does not require additional input or output filters.Analytical expressions are derived to confirm the operation of the proposed topology.Simulation results confirm the mathematical analysis.A laboratory-scale experiment is performed to verify the proposed inverter. | Misbahul Munir Wisyahyadi Arwindra Rizqiawan Jihad Furqani | 2024 | Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2024,10,1: | 0 |

| 12 | Chemical modification of acetaminophen:PASS assisted in vivo antiinflammatory activity of chalcones,flavanones and Schiff bases显示文摘In the present study,synthetic chalcones,flavanones and Schiff bases were prepared starting from paraceamol,and evaluated their anticipated anti-inflammatory activity.Chalcones were synthesized by reacting 3-acetyl-4-hydroxy acetanilide and aromatic aldehydes in alcoholic potassium hydroxide(KOH) solution under Claisen-Schmidt condensation conditions.The chalcones were cyclized in the presence of piperidine in isoamyl alcohol to obtain flavonone derivatives.Schiff bases were synthesized by condensing 3-acetyl-4-hydroxy anilines with aromatic aldehydes in the presence of HCl.These Schiff bases were further reacted with other aromatic aldehydes in alcoholic KOH solution.PASS cheminformatics software was used to predict the anti-inflammatory activity of synthesized compounds.PASS software predicted that chalcone-based Schiff bases 6a–d contained structural features that can exhibit anti-inflammatory activity.All the prepared derivatives of acetaminophen exhibited moderate to excellent in vivo anti-inflammatory activity in carrageenan-induced edema in rat paw.All the Schiff bases coupled chalcones showed good anti-inflammatory activity compared with the reference drug,diclofenac.Further evaluation of their therapeutic potential and safety profile is required in the future study. | Syed Misbahul Hasan Shah Alam Khan Kavita Golani Jaswinder Lamba Aftab Ahmad Asif Husain | 2017 | Journal of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences2017,26,8: | 0 |
