| 1 | Effects of uniconazole with or without micronutrient on the lignin biosynthesis,lodging resistance,and winter wheat production in semiarid regions显示文摘Lodging stress results in grain yield and quality reduction in wheat. Uniconazole, a potential plant growth regulator significantly enhances lignin biosynthesis and thus provides mechanical strength to plants in order to cope with lodging stress. A field study was conducted during the 2015–2016 and 2016–2017 growing seasons, to investigate the effects of uniconazole sole application or with micronutrient on the lignin biosynthesis, lodging resistance, and production of winter wheat. In the first experiment, uniconazole at concentrations of 0(CK), 15(US1), 30(US2), and 45(US3) mg L^-1 was applied as sole seed soaking, while in the second experiment with manganese(Mn) at concentration of 0.06 g L^-1 Mn, 0.06 g L^-1 Mn+ 15 mg L^-1 uniconazole(UMS1), 0.06 g L^-1 Mn+30 mg L^-1 uniconazole(UMS2), and 0.06 g L^-1 Mn+45 mg L^-1 uniconazole(UMS3), respectively. Uniconazole sole application or with micronutrient significantly increased the lignin content by improving the lignin-related enzyme activities of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase, tyrosine ammonialyase, and peroxidase, ameliorating basal internode characteristics, and breaking strength. The spike length, spike diameter, spikes/plant, weight/spike, yield/spike, and grain yield increased and then decreased with uniconazole application at a higher concentration, where their maximum values were recorded with UMS2 and US2 treatments. The lignin accumulation was positively correlated with lignin-related enzyme activities and breaking strength while, negatively correlated with lodging rate. | 3 | 不同抽样方法对兴安落叶松立木材积方程预测精度的影响显示文摘【目的】研究不同抽样方法对立木材积方程预测精度的影响,为各地编制不同树种材积表及构建立木材积方程提供基础数据抽样技术依据。【方法】以兴安落叶松立木材积方程为例,设计均匀、正态、右偏和左偏4种抽样方法,根据不同数据类型,利用SAS软件中proc surveyselect模块的简单随机抽样(SRS)并结合条件语句对数据进行分径阶抽样。采用Shapiro-Wilk对不同抽样方法下的胸径统计量进行正态性检验。以异速生长方程为基础材积模型,利用S-PLUS软件的广义非线性GNLS模块对模型进行拟合。采用指数函数、幂函数和常数加幂函数对4种立木材积拟合过程中产生的异方差现象进行校正。利用确定系数(R^2)、均方根误差(RMSE)、平均误差绝对值(MAB)和相对误差绝对值(MPB)对立木材积方程精度进行综合比较分析。【结果】1)指数函数、幂函数和常数加幂函数均能消除4种立木材积方程异方差的影响,加入变量为V^的幂函数消除异方差的效果最好。2)拟合结果表明,相对于均匀模型,正态模型的RMSE下降31.6%,右偏模型的RMSE下降23.1%,左偏模型的RMSE下降33.7%。3)分径阶检验表明,径阶分布在12~28 cm、36~40 cm和44~48 cm时,左偏模型的MAB和MPB均小于均匀、正态和右偏模型,即左偏模型在11组径阶中有6组径阶的MAB和MPB均最小;径阶分布在12~32 cm和44~48 cm时,右偏模型的MAB和MPB均小于均匀和正态模型,即右偏模型在11组径阶中有6组径阶的MAB和MPB均最小;径阶分布在12~32 cm和40~44 cm时,正态模型的MAB和MPB均小于均匀模型,即正态模型在11组径阶中有6组径阶的MAB和MPB均最小。【结论】左偏模型的预测精度比均匀、正态和右偏模型高,右偏模型的预测精度比均匀和正态模型高,正态模型的预测精度比均匀模型高,总体模型检验精度顺序为左偏模型>右偏模型>正态模型>均匀模型。 | Shahzad Muhammad Khurra 韩斐斐 姜立春 | 2018 | 林业科学2018,54,8: | 7 |
| 4 | Validating a point of care lactate meter in adult patients with sepsis presenting to the emergency department of a tertiary care hospital of a low-to middle-income country显示文摘BACKGROUND: Timely identifi cation of high blood lactate levels in septic patients may allow faster detection of those patients requiring immediate resuscitation. Point-of-care(POC) testing is being increasingly utilized in the emergency department(ED). We examined the accuracy and timesaving effect of a handheld POC lactate device for the measurement of fingertip and whole blood lactate as compared with reference laboratory blood testing in septic ED patients.METHODS: A convenience sample of adult ED patients receiving serum lactate testing were enrolled prospectively in the ED of a multidisciplinary tertiary care hospital serving the population of one of the major cities of Pakistan. Participants underwent fi ngertip POC lactate measurement with a portable device and simultaneous whole blood sampling for analysis by both the POC lactate device and standard laboratory method. Lactate measurements were compared by intraclass correlation(ICC) and Bland and Altman plots.RESULTS: Forty-three septic patients were included in the study. The fingertip POC & whole blood POC lactate measurements each correlated tightly with the reference method(ICC=0.93 & ICC=0.92, respectively). Methods: The present study was conducted to evaluate the overall positivity of NS1 antigen detection ELISA and its comparison with viral RNA detection via real time PCR and Ig M antibodies detection by ELISA. Results: A total of 1 270 serum samples were tested 86%(1 097/1 270) were detected positive by one or more than one diagnostic test. | 7 | Influence of Seed Priming on Performance and Water Productivity of Direct Seeded Rice in Alternating Wetting and Drying显示文摘Direct seeded rice is promising alternative to traditional transplanting, but requires appropriate crop and water management to maintain yield performance and achieve high water productivity. Present study evaluated the effect of seed priming and irrigation on crop establishment, tillering, agronomic traits, paddy yield, grain quality and water productivity of direct seeded rice in alternate wetting and drying(DSR-AWD) in comparison with direct seeded rice at field capacity(DSRFC). Seed priming treatments were osmo-priming with KCl(2.2%), Ca Cl2(2.2%) and moringa leaf extracts(MLE, 3.3%) including hydro-priming as control. Among the treatments, seed osmo-primed with MLE emerged earlier and had higher final emergence, followed by osmo-priming with Ca Cl2. Tillering emergence rate and number of tillers per plant were the highest for seed priming with Ca Cl2 in DSRAWD. Total productive and non-productive tillers, panicle length, biological and grain yields, harvest index were highest for seed priming with MLE or Ca Cl2 in DSR-AWD. Similarly, grain quality, estimated in terms of normal grains, abortive and chalky grains, was also the highest in DSR-AWD with MLE osmo-priming. Benefit cost ratio and water productivity was also the highest in DSR-AWD for seed priming with MLE. | 11 | Changes in Nutrient-Homeostasis and Reserves Metabolism During Rice Seed Priming:Consequences for Seedling Emergence and Growth显示文摘In this study influence of different seed priming treatments on the nutrient-homeostasis and reserve metabolism during seedling emergence and growth of rice were determined. Seed priming treatments included pre-germination, hydropriming for 48 h, osmohardening with KCl and CaCl2, ascorbate priming and hardening. All treatments shortened the emergence time and enhanced the energy and index of seedling emergence. Seedlings from primed seeds had greater length, number of roots and fresh and dry mass than control. Among the treatments, CaCl2, ascorbate and KCl proved better in enhancing emergence and seedling growth. Seed priming changed the pattern of N and Ca2+ homeostasis both of the seeds and seedlings, which were associated to enhancing α-amylase activity and reducing sugars content. | 12 | Seed Priming Influence on Early Crop Growth, Phenological Development and Yield Performance of Linola (Linum usitatissimum L.)显示文摘Reduced early crop growth and limited branching are amongst yield limiting factors of linola. Field response of seed priming treatments viz. 50 mmol L-1 salicylic acid(SA), 2.2% CaCl2 and 3.3% moringa leaf extract(MLE) including untreated dry and hydropriming controls was evaluated on early crop growth and yield performance of linola. Osmopriming with CaCl2 reduced emergence time and produced the highest seedling fresh and dry weights including Chl. a contents. Osmopriming with CaCl2reduced crop branching and fl owering and maturity times and had the maximum plant height, number of branches, tillers, pods and seeds per pod followed by MLE. Increase in seed weight, biological and seed yields was 9.30, 34.16 and 39.49%, harvest index(4.12%) and oil contents(13.39%) for CaCl2 osmopriming. Positive relationship between emergence and seedling vigor traits, 100-seed weight, seed yield with maturity time, 100-seed weight and seed yield were found. | 14 | Seed priming improves early seedling vigor, growth and productivity of spring maize显示文摘Potential of seed priming treatments in improving the performance of early planted maize was evaluated against timely planting. Seeds of maize hybrid FH-810 were soaked in water(hydropriming), Ca Cl2(2.2%, osmopriming), moringa leaf extracts(MLE 3.3%, osmopriming) and salicylic acid(SA, 50 mg L–1, hormonal priming) each for 18 h. Untreated and hydroprimed seeds were taken as control. Seeds primed with SA took less time in emergence and had high vigor in early planted maize. Amongst treatments, hormonal priming, reduced the electrical conductivity, increased the leaf relative and chlorophyll contents followed by osmopriming with Ca Cl2 at seedling stage. Likewise, plant height, grain rows and 1 000-grain weight, grain and biological yield and harvest index were also improved by seed priming; however hormonal priming and osmopriming with MLE were more effective in this regard. Improved yield performance by hormonal priming or osmopriming with MLE in early planting primarily owed to increased leaf area index, crop growth and net assimilation rates, and maintenance of green leaf area at maturity. | 15 | Why more research needs to be done on echinococcosis in Pakistan显示文摘Background:Echinococcosis has a worldwide geographical distribution with endemic foci on every inhabited continent.Due to the frequent outbreaks in different parts of Pakistan in the recent past,echinococcosis is being described as a neglected tropical disease and is considered one of the most neglected parasitic diseases in the country.In endemic regions,predominantly settings with limited resources,there are high numbers of echinococcosis patients,as these communities do not have access to appropriate treatment.In Pakistan,there are limited reports on echinococcosis.The disease is prevalent in human and livestock,but this has not been sufficiently explored yet.Pakistan is an agricultural country and due to the disease’s zoonotic mode of transmission,there is a dire need of future research on it.The present paper is an effort to highlight the importance of echinococcosis in Pakistan.Discussion:There is a dire need for future research on echinococcosis in Pakistan as very few investigations had been carried out on this topic thus far.The prevalence of the disease in neighbouring countries highlights that Pakistan might be at severe risk of this zoonotic infection and further supports the need for more research.In Pakistan,the majority of the population lives in rural areas with limited acess to proper hygienic/sanitary facilities.These conditions favour the outbreak of diseases such as echinococcosis.The limited available data could result in higher outbreaks in the future,and thus cause the already weak healthcare system to overburden.The country has a meagre annual budget for health,which is being spent on known infections such as polio,dengue fever and hepatic viral infections.A proper surveillance system for echinococcosis is required across the country as treatment is usually expensive,complicated and may require extensive surgery and/or prolonged drug therapy.Development of new/novel drugs and other treatment modalities receives very little,if any,attention.Prognostic awareness programmes against this infection involve deworming of the infected animals,improved food inspection and slaughterhouse hygiene,and public education campaigns.Conclusion:Future research on echinococcosis is anticipated to demonstrate whether the epidemiology,diagnosis and recombinant vaccines/antibodies relating to echinococcosis can meet the quality standards(purity,potency,safety and efficacy)defined by the World Health Organization.Research work should be carried out on the epidemiology and serodiagnosis of echinocossis in the different areas of Pakistan,which will be useful for the proper eradication of echinococcosis in this region.The health department should implement awareness-raising campaigns for the general public in order to reduce the burden of disease. | Haroon Ahmed Shahzad Ali Muhammad Sohail Afzal Abid Ali Khan Hamid Raza Zaheer Hussain Shah Sami Simsek | 2017 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2017,6,1: | 2 |

By employing auto combustion process, nanosized [(20 ± 5) nm] MZF powders were synthesized and toroid shape cores were obtained after subsequent calcination and firing(sintering) process. It was observed that the submicron structure(0.5 lm)achieved in the ferrite core sintered at 1,000 °C was gradually transformed into micron size grains by increasing the firing temperature i.e., 1,100, 1,200, and 1,350 °C. The results reveal that MZF core sintered at low temperature(1,000 °C)showed high impedance, low initial permeability, and narrow working frequency range i.e., 3–15 MHz. However, the improvement in initial permeability, sintered density, and operational frequency range(100 k Hz–17 MHz) was observed at high temperature(1,350 °C) firing in the inert environment. | 17 | 黄连素对福美双诱导的肉鸡胫骨软骨发育不良的影响显示文摘为探讨黄连素(berberin)通过调控基质金属蛋白酶诱导因子(EMMPRIN)又名CD147的表达对肉鸡胫骨软骨发育不良(TD)的影响,将150只1日龄AA肉鸡随机均分为3组:对照组、TD发生组和黄连素组,对照组正常饲喂基础日粮;从第3天开始,TD发生组和黄连素组,在饲喂基础日粮的同时添加25 mg/kg的福美双诱导产生TD,黄连素组从第7天开始口腔灌服黄连素,剂量为15 mg/kg,连用7 d。于第14天剖杀全部雏鸡。观察记录各组雏鸡体质量变化、HE染色观察生长板结构及血管变化,real-time PCR和Western blot检测CD147基因和蛋白的表达差异。结果显示,TD发生组雏鸡体质量增长缓慢,生长板组织结构破坏严重,且CD147基因及蛋白表达量显著下降。黄连素组雏鸡体质量增长较快,TD症状缓解,生长板血管浸润较多,且CD147基因及蛋白表达量增加。由此推测,饲料中添加黄连素可以上调CD147基因和蛋白的表达量,从而促进TD病变区血管的生成和恢复,缓解TD症状,提高肉鸡产量。 | 王智 张鼎 李坤 刘晶英 韩照清 Muhammad Shahzad 李家奎 | 2015 | 中国兽医学报2015,35,12: | 2 |
