1Success of photodynamic therapy in palliating patients with nonresectable cholangiocarcinoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM To perform a systematic review and meta-analysis on clinical outcomes of photodynamic therapy(PDT) in non-resectable cholangiocarcinoma. METHODS Included studies compared outcomes with photodynamic therapy and biliary stenting(PDT group) vs biliary stenting only(BS group) in palliation of non-resectable cholangiocarcinoma. Articles were searched in MEDLINE, PubM ed, and EMBASE. Pooled proportions were calculated using fixed and random effects model. Heterogeneity among studies was assessed using the I2 statistic.RESULTS Ten studies(n = 402) that met inclusion criteria were included in this analysis. The P for χ2 heterogeneity for all the pooled accuracy estimates was > 0.10. Pooled odds ratio for successful biliary drainage(decrease in bilirubin level > 50% within 7days after stenting)in PDT vs BS group was 4.39(95%CI: 2.35-8.19).Survival period in PDT and BS groups were 413.04d(95%CI: 349.54-476.54) and 183.41(95%CI:136.81-230.02) respectively. The change in Karnofsky performance scores after intervention in PDT and BS groups were +6.99(95%CI: 4.15-9.82) and-3.93(95%CI:-8.63-0.77) respectively. Odds ratio for postintervention cholangitis in PDT vs BS group was 0.57(95%CI: 0.35-0.94). In PDT group, 10.51%(95%CI:6.94-14.72) had photosensitivity reactions that were self-limiting. Subgroup analysis of prospective studies showed similar results, except the incidence of cholangitis was comparable in both groups. CONCLUSION In palliation of unresectable cholangiocarcinoma, PDT seems to be significantly superior to BS alone. 2Soil-Plant-Microbe Interactions in Stressed Agriculture Management:A Review显示文摘The expected rise in temperature and decreased precipitation owing to climate change and unabated anthropogenic activities add complexity and uncertainty to agro-industry. The impact of soil nutrient imbalance, mismanaged use of chemicals, high temperature,flood or drought, soil salinity, and heavy metal pollutions, with regard to food security, is increasingly being explored worldwide. This review describes the role of soil-plant-microbe interactions along with organic manure in solving stressed agriculture problems. Beneficial microbes associated with plants are known to stimulate plant growth and enhance plant resistance to biotic(diseases) and abiotic(salinity, drought, pollutions, etc.) stresses. The plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR) and mycorrhizae, a key component of soil microbiota, could play vital roles in the maintenance of plant fitness and soil health under stressed environments. The application of organic manure as a soil conditioner to stressed soils along with suitable microbial strains could further enhance the plant-microbe associations and increase the crop yield. A combination of plant, stress-tolerant microbe, and organic amendment represents the tripartite association to offer a favourable environment to the proliferation of beneficial rhizosphere microbes that in turn enhance the plant growth performance in disturbed agro-ecosystem. Agriculture land use patterns with the proper exploitation of plant-microbe associations, with compatible beneficial microbial agents, could be one of the most effective strategies in the management of the concerned agriculture lands owing to climate change resilience. 4Full Outline of Unresponsiveness score and the Glasgow Coma Scale in prediction of pediatric coma显示文摘BACKGROUND: This study was done to compare the admission Full Outline of Unresponsiveness(FOUR) score and Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS) as predictors of outcome in children with impaired consciousness.METHODS: In this observational study, children(5–12 years) with impaired consciousness of <7 days were included. Children with traumatic brain injury, on sedatives or neuromuscular blockade; with pre-existing cerebral palsy, mental retardation, degenerative brain disease, vision/hearing impairment; and seizure within last 1 hour were excluded. Primary outcomes: comparison of area under curve(AUC) of receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve for in-hospital mortality. Secondary outcomes: comparison of AUC of ROC curve for mortality and poor outcome on Pediatric Overall Performance Category Scale at 3 months.RESULTS: Of the 63 children, 20 died during hospital stay. AUC for in-hospital mortality for GCS was 0.83(CI 0.7 to 0.9) and FOUR score was 0.8(CI 0.7 to 0.9) [difference between areas –0.0250(95%CI 0.0192 to 0.0692), Z statistic 1.109, P=0.2674]. AUC for mortality at 3 months for GCS was 0.78(CI 0.67 to 0.90) and FOUR score was 0.74(CI 0.62 to 0.87)(P=0.1102) and AUC for poor functional outcome for GCS was 0.82(CI 0.72 to 0.93) and FOUR score was 0.79(CI 0.68 to 0.9)(P=0.2377), which were also comparable. Inter-rater reliability for GCS was 0.96 and for FOUR score 0.98.CONCLUSION: FOUR score was as good as GCS in prediction of in-hospital and 3-month mortality and functional outcome at 3 months. 5Strategy and Future Prospects to Develop Room-Temperature-Recoverable NO2 Gas Sensor Based on Two-Dimensional Molybdenum Disulfide显示文摘Nitrogen dioxide(NO2),a hazardous gas with acidic nature,is continuously being liberated in the atmosphere due to human activity.The NO2 sensors based on traditional materials have limitations of high-temperature requirements,slow recovery,and performance degradation under harsh environmental conditions.These limitations of traditional materials are forcing the scientific community to discover future alternative NO2 sensitive materials.Molybdenum disulfide(MoS2)has emerged as a potential candidate for developing next-generation NO2 gas sensors.MoS2 has a large surface area for NO2 molecules adsorption with controllable morphologies,facile integration with other materials and compatibility with internet of things(IoT)devices.The aim of this review is to provide a detailed overview of the fabrication of MoS2 chemiresistance sensors in terms of devices(resistor and transistor),layer thickness,morphology control,defect tailoring,heterostructure,metal nanoparticle doping,and through light illumination.Moreover,the experimental and theoretical aspects used in designing MoS2-based NO2 sensors are also discussed extensively.Finally,the review concludes the challenges and future perspectives to further enhance the gas-sensing performance of MoS2.Understanding and addressing these issues are expected to yield the development of highly reliable and industry standard chemiresistance NO2 gas sensors for environmental monitoring.Abhay V.Agrawal Naveen Kumar Mukesh Kumar 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,2:7
6Recent advances in mobile edge computing and content caching显示文摘The demand for digital media services is increasing as the number of wireless subscriptions is growing exponentially.In order to meet this growing need,mobile wireless networks have been advanced at a tremendous pace over recent days.However,the centralized architecture of existing mobile networks,with limited capacity and range of bandwidth of the radio access network and low bandwidth back-haul network,can not handle the exponentially increasing mobile traffic.Recently,we have seen the growth of new mechanisms of data caching and delivery methods through intermediate caching servers.In this paper,we present a survey on recent advances in mobile edge computing and content caching,including caching insertion and expulsion policies,the behavior of the caching system,and caching optimization based on wireless networks.Some of the important open challenges in mobile edge computing with content caching are identified and discussed.We have also compared edge,fog and cloud computing in terms of delay.Readers of this paper will get a thorough understanding of recent advances in mobile edge computing and content caching in mobile wireless networks.Sunitha Safavat Naveen Naik Sapavath Danda B.Rawat 2020Digital Communications and Networks2020,6,2:6
7艾氏天芥菜对顺铂引起的小鼠肾损伤的保护作用(英文)显示文摘目的:该研究旨在评估紫草科药材艾氏天芥菜的甲醇提取物对于顺铂导致小鼠急性肾损伤的保护作用。方法:用腹膜内注射顺铂(16mg/kg)诱导小鼠肾损伤。将瑞士白化小鼠分为正常对照组、顺铂模型对照组、艾氏天芥菜的甲醇提取物治疗组(200和400mg/kg),并给予相应药物。于顺铂注射前4d开始每天予两组治疗组小鼠分别口服艾氏天芥菜的甲醇提取物200及400mg/kg,共服用7d。治疗结束后3d处死小鼠,并取血及肾脏组织,检测分析血尿素氮、血清肌酐和丙二醛水平以及过氧化氢酶和过氧化物歧化酶活性。结果:艾氏天芥菜的甲醇提取物能够显著降低因注射顺铂而引起的小鼠血尿素氮及血清肌酐升高(P<0.05),并且能降低顺铂引起的高丙二醛水平,同时升高降低的过氧化氢酶和过氧化物歧化酶活性(P<0.05)。此外,组织病理学检测显示艾氏天芥菜的甲醇提取物能够明显改善顺铂导致的肾小管坏死。结论:艾氏天芥菜的甲醇提取物可用于缓解顺铂的肾毒性。Surendra Kr.Sharma Naveen Goyal 2012中西医结合学报2012,10,5:6
8维迪欧视频喉镜和GlideScope视频喉镜在双腔支气管插管中的应用比较显示文摘目的评估维迪欧视频喉镜在择期肺叶切除术患者行全身麻醉诱导双腔支气管插管中的实用性和安全性。方法择期拟行经口左双腔支气管插管全身麻醉手术患者400例,美国麻醉医师协会(ASA)分级Ⅰ~Ⅲ级,年龄18~70岁。采用随机数表法将患者纳入A、B两组,A组代表GlideScope视频喉镜组,B组代表维迪欧视频喉镜组。记录两组插管时间、一次插管成功率、插管前后血流动力学波动、术后咽喉疼痛及声嘶等情况。结果A,B两组的插管时间差异无统计学意义,第1次插管成功率差异也无统计学意义;插管前后A,B两组的平均动脉压及心率的波动差异无统计学意义;拔管后1 h及拔管后1 d,A,B两组的术后声嘶的差异无统计学意义(均P≥0.05)。但A组在拔管1 d后轻度咽喉疼痛的发病率显著高于B组(14%vs 7.5%,P<0.05)。结论从插管时间、成功率,插管所导致的心血管反应,术后咽喉疼痛及声嘶等方面的结果来看,维迪欧视频喉镜可以安全应用于辅助DLT插管。Naveen Kumar Yadav 刘美云 周焕平 冯迪 魏娟 宋炯 吕欣 顾洋 2020同济大学学报(医学版)2020,41,4:6
9Improved simultaneous quantitation of candesartan and hydrochlorthiazide in human plasma by UPLC–MS/MS and its application in bioequivalence studies显示文摘A validated ultra-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometric method(UPLC–MS/MS) was used for the simultaneous quantitation of candesartan(CN) and hydrochlorothiazide(HCT) in human plasma. The analysis was performed on UPLC–MS/MS system using turbo ion spray interface.Negative ions were measured in multiple reaction monitoring(MRM) mode. The analytes were extracted using a liquid–liquid extraction(LLE) method by using 0.1 mL of plasma volume. The lower limit of quantitation for CN and HCT was 1.00 ng/mL whereas the upper limit of quantitation was 499.15 ng/mL and601.61 ng/mL for CN and HCT respectively. CN d4 and HCT-13Cd2 were used as the internal standards for CN and HCT respectively. The chromatography was achieved within 2.0 min run time using a C18 Phenomenex, Gemini NX(100 mm 4.6 mm, 5 mm) column with organic mixture:buffer solution(80:20, v/v) at a flow rate of 0.800 mL/min. 11Metathesis synthesis, characterization, spectral and photoactivity studies of Ln_(2/3)MoO_4(Ln=La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Er and Y)显示文摘Rare earth ortho-oxomolybdates of composition Ln2/3MoO 4(Ln=La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Er and Y) were prepared by metathesis reaction. All these materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra. The Rietveld analysis of all the samples was carried out to obtain the unit cell parameters and reliability factors. All the materials were crystallized in tetragonal lattice with I41/a space group. The infrared spectra of all the samples were characterized by bands due to MoO 2–4 units. The bandgap energies of all the samples were obtained from UV-Vis DRS spectra. The luminescence spectra of Ln2/3MoO 4(Ln=Pr, Eu and Dy) showed characteristic transitions of the rare earth ions. 13Locoregional treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma:The best is yet to come显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the sixth-most common type of cancer worldwide. The only definitive treatment modalities capable of achieving a cure are hepatic resection and hepatic transplantation. However, most patients are not candidates for these therapies. Overall, treatment options are driven by the stage of HCC. Early-stage disease is treated with ablative therapies, with radiofrequency ablation the ablative therapy of choice. Microwave ablation and irreversible electroporation are the other upcoming alternatives. 14Use of the liquisolid compact technique for improvement of the dissolution rate of valsartan显示文摘The aim of this study was to improve the dissolution rate of the poorly soluble drug valsartan by delivering the drug as a liquisolid compact.Liquisolid compacts were prepared using propylene glycol as solvent,Avicel PH102 as carrier,and Aerosil 200 as the coating material.The crystallinity of the newly formulated drug and the interaction between excipients was examined by X-ray powder diffraction and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy,respectively.The dissolution studies for the liquisolid formula-tion and the marketed product were carried out at different pH values.The results showed no change in the crystallinity of the drug and no interaction between excipients.The dissolution efficiency of valsartan at 15 min was increased from 4.02% for plain drug and 13.58% for marketed product to 29.47% for the liquisolid formulation.The increase in the dissolution rate was also found to be significant compared to the marketed product at lower pH values,simulating the gastric environment where valsartan is largely absorbed.The liquisolid technique appears to be a promising approach for improving the dissolution of poorly soluble drugs like valsartan.Chella Naveen Nalini Shastri Rama Rao Tadikonda 2012Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2012,2,5:4

16Physical and degradation properties of PLGA scaffolds fabricated by salt fusion technique显示文摘Tissue engineering scaffolds require a controlled pore size and interconnected pore structures to support the host tissue growth. In the present study, three dimensional (3D) hybrid scaffolds of poly lactic acid (PLA) and poly glycolic acid (PGA) were fabricated using solvent casting/particulate leaching. In this case, partially fused NaCl particles were used as porogen (200-300μ) to improve the overall porosity (≥90%) and internal texture of scaffolds. Differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) analysis of these porous scaffolds revealed a gradual reduction in glass transition temperature (Tg) (from 48°C to 42.5°C) with increase in hydrophilic PGA content. The potential applications of these scaffolds as implants were further tested for their biocompatibility and biodegradability in four simulated body fluid (SBF) types in vitro. Whereas, simulated body fluid (SBF) Type1 with the optimal amount of HCO 3 ions was found to be more appropriate and sensible for testing the bioactivity of scaffolds. Among three combinations of polymer scaffolds, sample B with a ratio of 75:25 of PLA: PGA showed greater stability in body fluids (pH 7.2) with an optimum degradation rate (9% to 12% approx). 19neuroendocrine 的罐头成像模式肝的转移预言反应 yttruim-90 radioembolotherapy?显示文摘 AIM:To evaluate the response to treatment in patients with neuroendocrine tumor liver metastases following yttrium-90 ( 90 Y) radioembolotherapy, as a function of image patterns at presentation for 90 Y radioembolotherapy. METHODS: The study cohort consisted of patients with hepatic metastatic neuroendocrine tumors treated with 90 Y at our institution during a two-year time period. Hepatic metastases were evaluated on a pretherapy study assessing relative arterial enhancement compared to liver, lesion size, necrosis of the lesion, and associated tumor burden in the liver. We used six response criteria: Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) size, World Health Organization (WHO) size, European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) necrosis guidelines, Choi size, Choi necrosis and combination of Choi size and necrosis. RESULTS: About 65 lesions in 17 patients met study criteria and formed the cohort. Statistically significant response was found for lesions < 5 cm vs those ≥5 cm with RECIST (P = 0.04), WHO (P = 0.002) and combined Choi criteria (P = 0.02). Hyperenhancing lesions demonstrated greater response only with the Choi size criteria (P = 0.04). Lesions with ≤ 50% necrosis on the pre-scan had statistically significant greater response with the Choi necrosis criteria (P = 0.01). There was no statistical significance for response comparing lesions < 2 cm vs ≥ 2 cm or in comparing the degrees of tumor burden. 202,3-Diaryl-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine derivatives as potential anticancer and anti-inflammatory agents显示文摘In this study we examined the suitability of the 3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine ring system in developing novel anticancer and anti-inflammatory agents incorporating a diaryl pharmacophore. Eight 2,3-diaryl-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine derivatives retrieved from our in-house database were evaluated for their cytotoxic activity against nine cancer cell lines. The results indicated that the compounds showed moderate cytotoxic activity against MCF-7, MDA-MB-468, K562 and SaOS2 cells, with K562 being the most sensitive among the four cancer cell lines. The eight 2,3-diaryl-3H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine derivatives were also evaluated for their COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitory activity in vitro. The results showed that compound 3f exhibited 2-fold selectivity with IC_(50) values of 9.2 and 21.8 mmol/L against COX-2 and COX-1, respectively.
