| 7 | Evaluation of Tomato Hybrids for Resistance against Tomato Mosaic Virus(ToMV)显示文摘Tomato mosaic virus(ToMV)drastically affects the tomato production worldwide.To deal with this problem,breeding of ToMV-resistant hybrids/varieties is the ultimate need and most successful approach.In wild tomato species,three dominant ToMV-resistant genes(Tm-1,Tm-2 and Tm-2^(2))were identified and the World Vegetable Center developed few fresh market tomato lines resistant to ToMV by the introgression of these genes.Recently at Nuclear Institute for Agriculture and Biology,Faisalabad,Pakistan a breeding programme was initiated to develop high yielding and ToMV tolerant hybrids using these lines.Current study was performed to screen elite F1 hybrids carrying Tm gene along with their parents against ToMV using mechanical inoculation,confirmation of the virus using DAS-ELISA and marker assisted selection of hybrids.Out of 28 hybrids and 17 parent accessions/genotypes,eight hybrids and five accessions were found to be highly resistant and the virus was not detected in DAS-ELISA.Five hybrids were resistant,nine hybrids and four genotypes were tolerant,while the remaining six hybrids and eight genotypes were susceptible.For the confirmation of Tm-2^(2) gene,the tomato hybrids and their parents were subjected to molecular analysis using cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence(CAPS)primers.The result of CAPS markers for the confirmation of Tm-2^(2) gene was found consistent with phenotypic data of the inoculated tomato genotypes/hybrids.Higher phenolic content,total soluble proteins,better CAT and SOD activities were positively correlated with resistance.Screening results based on phenotype,biochemical and molecular marker data indicate that hybrids carrying Tm-2^(2) gene are good sources of resistance against ToMV. | Sahar Nadeem Najeeb Ullah Khalid Pervaiz Akhtar Amjad Hameed Muhammad Yussouf Saleem | 2022 | Journal of Botanical Research2022,4,2: | 0 |
| 8 | Determination of the heavy metal content of Entoban herbal medicinal product显示文摘The levels of As, Cd, Pb and Hg were investigated in the medicinal herbal syrup Entoban, which is widely used in the management of non-specific diarrhea and acute intestinal infections of various etiologies. The ingredients in Entoban syrup include 6 potent herbal drugs: Aegle marmelose, Berberis aristata, Butea frondosa, Holarrhena antidysenterica, Myrtus communis, and Quercus infectoria. Entoban medicinal plant syrup was analyzed for As, Cd, Pb and Hg by flame atomic absorption spectroscopy(FAAS). Contents of heavy metals in the examined samples were in the range: As(0.074–10.0 ppm); Cd(0.020–0.3 ppm); Pb(0.00–10.0 ppm) and Hg(0.00–1.0 ppm). Results were compared with permissible limit acceptability intake(AHPA). | 10 | Secure and Reliable Routing in the Internet of Vehicles Network:AODV-RL with BHA Attack Defense显示文摘Wireless technology is transforming the future of transportation through the development of the Internet of Vehicles(IoV).However,intricate security challenges are intertwinedwith technological progress:Vehicular ad hoc Networks(VANETs),a core component of IoV,face security issues,particularly the Black Hole Attack(BHA).This malicious attack disrupts the seamless flow of data and threatens the network’s overall reliability;also,BHA strategically disrupts communication pathways by dropping data packets from legitimate nodes altogether.Recognizing the importance of this challenge,we have introduced a new solution called ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector-Reputation-based mechanism Local Outlier Factor(AODV-RL).The significance of AODVRL lies in its unique approach:it verifies and confirms the trustworthiness of network components,providing robust protection against BHA.An additional safety layer is established by implementing the Local Outlier Factor(LOF),which detects and addresses abnormal network behaviors.Rigorous testing of our solution has revealed its remarkable ability to enhance communication in VANETs.Specifically,Our experimental results achieve message delivery ratios of up to 94.25%andminimal packet loss ratios of just 0.297%.Based on our experimental results,the proposedmechanismsignificantly improves VANET communication reliability and security.These results promise a more secure and dependable future for IoV,capable of transforming transportation safety and efficiency. | Nadeem Ahmed Khalid Mohammadani Ali Kashif Bashir Marwan Omar Angel Jones Fayaz Hassan | 2024 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2024,139,4: | 0 |
| 11 | Analyzing COVID-19 Impact on the Researchers Productivity through Their Perceptions显示文摘Context:Since the end of 2019,the COVID-19 pandemic had a worst impact on world’s economy,healthcare,and education.There are several aspects where the impact of COVID-19 could be visualized.Among these,one aspect is the productivity of researcher,which plays a significant role in the success of an organization.Problem:There are several factors that could be aligned with the researcher’s productivity of each domain and whose analysis through researcher’s feedback could be beneficial for decision makers in terms of their decision making and implementation of mitigation plans for the success of an organization.Method:We perform an empirical study to investigate the substantial impact of COVID-19 on the productivity of researchers by analyzing the relevant factors through their perceptions.Our study aims to find out the impact of COVID-19 on the researcher’s productivity that are working in different fields.In this study,we conduct a questionnaire-based analysis,which included feedback of 152 researchers of certain domains.These researchers are currently involved in different research activities.Subsequently,we perform a statistical analysis to analyze the collected responses and report the findings.Findings:The results indicate the substantial impact of COVID-19 pandemics on the researcher’s productivity in terms of mental disturbance,lack of regular meetings,and field visits for the collection of primary data.Conclusion:Finally,it is concluded that researcher’s daily or weekly meetings with their supervisors and colleagues are necessary to keep them more productive in task completion.These findings would help the decision makers of an organization in the settlement of their plan for the success of an organization. | Syeda Javeria Shoukat Humaira Afzal Muhammad Rafiq Mufti Muhammad Khalid Sohail Dost Muhammad Khan Nadeem Akhtar Shahid Hussain Mansoor Ahmed | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,5: | 0 |
