Explicit classes of permutation polynomials of F_3^(3m)显示文摘Permutation polynomials have been an interesting subject of study for a long time and have applications in many areas of mathematics and engineering. However, only a small number of specific classes of permutation polynomials are known so far. In this paper, six classes of linearized permutation polynomials and six classes of nonlinearized permutation polynomials over F33m are presented. These polynomials have simple shapes, and they are related to planar functions.DING CunSheng1, XIANG Qing2, YUAN Jin3 & YUAN PingZhi4 1 Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Clearwater Bay, Kowloon, Hong Kong, China 2 Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19716, USA 3 Department of Computing, Macquarie University, NSW 2109, Australia 4 School of Mathematics, South China Normal University, Guangzhou 510631, China 2009Science China Mathematics2009,52,4:8
Microarray,SAGE and their applications to cardiovascular diseases显示文摘The wealth of DNA data generated by the human genome project coupling with recently invented high-throughput gene expression profiling techniques has dramatically sped up the process for biomedical researchers on elucidating the role of genes in human diseases. One powerful method to reveal insight into gene functions is the systematic analysis of gene expression. Two popular high-throughput gene expression technologies, microarray and Serial Analysis of Gene Expression (SAGE) are capable of producing large amounts of gene expression data with the potential of providing novel insights into fundamental disease processes, especially complex syndromes such as cardiovascular disease, whose etiologies are due to multiple genetic factors and their interplay with the environment. Microarray and SAGE have already been used to examine gene expression patterns of cell-culture, animal and human tissues models of cardiovascular diseases. In this review, we will first give a brief introduction of microarray and SAGE technologies and point out their limitations. We will then discuss the major discoveries and the new biological insightsthat have emerged from their applications to cardiovascular diseases. Finally we will touch upon potential challenges and future developments in this area.SHUI QING YE, TERA LAVOIE, DAVID C USHER, LI Q. 3Polylogarithms and multiple zeta values from free Rota-Baxter algebras显示文摘We show that the shuffle algebras for polylogarithms and regularized MZVs in the sense of Ihara,Kaneko and Zagier are both free commutative nonunitary Rota-Baxter algebras with one generator. We apply these results to show that the full sets of shuffle relations of polylogarithms and regularized MZVs are derived by a single series. We also take this approach to study the extended double shuffle relations of MZVs by comparing these shuffle relations with the quasi-shuffle relations of the regularized MZVs in our previous approach of MZVs by renormalization.GUO Li1,2 & ZHANG Bin3,1Center of Mathematical Sciences,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China 2Department of Mathematics and Computer Science,Rutgers University,Newark,NJ 07102,USA 3Yangtze Center of Mathematics,Sichuan University,Chengdu 610064,China 2010Science China Mathematics2010,53,9:4
Asynchronous cooperative communication systems:A survey on signal designs显示文摘Cooperative communications is a promising technique for future high speed wireless communications. These systems may be formulated as virtual multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems where spatial/cooperetive diversity is a key advantage. However, different from MIMO systems, one of the major chal- lenges for cooperative communications systems is that the cooperative transmissions in cooperative systems may be neither time nor frequency synchronized, since the transmissions are from multiple cooperative nodes at different locations. The existing signal designs for co-located MIMO systems may not be able to collect the cooperative diversity in cooperative communications systems. This paper gives an overview of recent research efforts on combating the time and frequency asynchronism of the cooperative communication network. We focus on the signal designs (or space-time codings/modulations) to achieve full cooperative diversity, and summarize some of the resent distributed space-timing coding and space-frequency coding techniques to combat timing errors and frequency offsets, and in the meantime to achieve full cooperative diversity,in both one-way and two-way cooperative networks.WANG HuiMing 1,2 & XIA XiangGen 3 1 School of Electronic and Information Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an 710049,China 2 State Key Laboratory of Integrated Services Networks, Xidian University,Xi’an 710049, China 3 Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering,University of Delaware,Newark,DE 19716,USA 2011Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,8:3
MicroRNAs in cardiovascular diseases:From bench to bedside显示文摘MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are a novel class of endogenous, small, noncoding RNAs that regulate gene expression via degradation or translational inhibition of their target mRNAs.Functionally,an individual miRNA is important as a transcription factor because it is able to regulate the expression of its multiple target genes. As a group,miRNAs are able to directly regulate at least 30%of genes in a cell.In addition, other genes may also be regulated indirectly by miRNAs.It is therefore not surprising that miRNAs could be the pivotal regulators in normal development, physiology, and pathology. Recent studies have demonstrated that miRNAs are highly expressed in cardiovasculature and their expression is dysregulated in diseased hearts and vessels. miRNAs are found to be critical modulators for cardiovascular cell functions such as cell differentiation, contraction, migration, proliferation, and apoptosis.Accordingly,miRNAs are involved in the many cardiovascular diseases such as cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure, ischemic heart disease, cardiac arrhythmias, angiogenesis, atherosclerosis and restenosis after angioplasty. Both basic and clinical studies have revealed miRNAs are a novel class of biomarkers and therapeutic targets for cardiovascular diseases. In this talk,we will report a translational study about the roles of circulating miRNAs in the diagnosis of myocardial infraction. We identified that miR-1 could be a novel sensitive diagnostic biomarker for myocardial infraction. In addition, the research progress of miRNAs in cardiovascular diseases from bench to bedside and the research perspective summarized by NIH microRNA working group will be reported.Chunxiang Zhang (Cardiovascular Research Laboratory,Department of Anesthesiology,New Jersey Medical School,University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, 185 South Orange Avenue,MSB-E548,Newark,NJ 07101) 2011岭南心血管病杂志2011,17,S1:2

QUEUEING NETWORK MODELING AND ANALYSIS IN THE DESIGN AND EVALUATION OF SEAPORT SYSTEMS显示文摘In this paper we apply networks of queues in the design and analysis of aseaport system. There are two types of ports, the deep water port and shallow waterport. The steamships arrive via the Pacific ocean according to a random process, andcan only enter the deep water port (due to the size of the ships). The finite capacityof the port, often results in long delays which is undsirable. To reduce this congestionproblem, ports authorities are considering constructing a platform (or dock) in a deepwater area on which some steamships can be first downloaded, and then the goods onthe platform are delivered and downloaded on the shallow water port by many small-sizeboats. This sytstem is modeled as a network of queues with finite buffers and blocking. We develop approximation methodology for analyzing queue delays, and apply it, in thedesign and optimization of the port systems. The algorithm is proved to be efficient, andits effectiveness is shown by both numerical results and simulation analysis.CHAO Xiuli(Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, New Jersey Instituteof Technology.
