1Three-Point Bending Test and Crack Detection by Acoustic Emission on Different Spring Steel Wires with Different Crystallographic Textures显示文摘In the production of compression springs, high forming velocities and grades of deformation during winding and setting may induce cracks that can lead to failure causing risks of an accident and damage. The AE(acoustic emission)technology,a non-destructive monitoring method, can detect acoustic signals reflected from cracks. To establish this method in the production of technical springs,it was necessary,to find out whether the AE signal is influenced by material properties, phase fractions distribution from tempered martensite, retained austenite, and microstructure including crystallographic texture. In addition,it was investigated to what extent the detected AE signal can be useful to separate between an actual crack and other material responses.Within an in-situ three-point bending test with the AE technology,macro-and micro-crack-typical AE signals were detected for five different spring steel wires(SH,VDSiCr,and FDSiCr according to EN-10270-1 and EN-10270-2).The relative energy related to the initiation, propagation, and growth of cracks caused by mechanical stress was measured using a piezoelectric sensor. If a crack AE signal appeared for the first time, the bending tests were stopped immediately. The results show that the frequency spectrum combined with the intensity of the acoustic signals generated during crack growth depends on the material properties and the crystallographic texture.Furthermore,it could be shown that it is possible to differentiate between micro-crack-typical AE signals and other signals that result from different material responses.Mathias Lorenz Mohammed Salih Daniela Schwerdt Nowfal Al-Hamdany Emad Maawad Norbert Schell Eckehard Müller 2023材料科学与工程(中英文A版)2023,13,3:0
2Investigations on the tensile deformation of pure Mg and Mg–15Gd alloy by in-situ X-ray synchrotron radiation and visco-plastic self-consistent modeling显示文摘In this study, the texture evolutions of two Mg materials during tension are explored.In-situ X-ray synchrotron and Visco-Plastic SelfConsistent(VPSC) modeling are employed to investigate the different deformation modes between pure Mg and Mg-15Gd(wt.%) alloy. These two materials with a strong extrusion texture show large different slip/twinning activity behaviors during tensile deformation. The basal(a) slip has the highest contribution to the initial stage of plastic deformation for pure Mg.During the subsequent plastic deformation, the prismatic slip is dominant due to the strong ED//(100) fiber texture. In contrast, the deformation behavior of Mg-15Gd alloy is more complex.Twinning and basal slip are dominant at the early stage of plastic deformation, but further deformation results in the increased activation of prismatic and pyramidal slips. In comparison to pure Mg,the ratios of the critical resolved shear stress(CRSS) between non-basal slip and basal slip of the Mg-15Gd alloy are much lower.Yuling Xu Yuanding Huang Yuye Wang Weiming Gan Shiwei Wang Emad Maawad Norbert Schell Norbert Hort 2023Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2023,11,2:0
3The GYF domain protein CD2BP2 is critical for embryogenesis and podocyte function显示文摘Scaffolding proteins play pivotal roles in the assembly of macromolecular machines such as the spliceosome. The adaptor protein CD2BP2,originally identified as a binding partner of the adhesion molecule CD2,is a pre-spliceosomal assembly factor that utilizes its glycine-tyrosine-phenylalanine(GYF)domain to co-localize with spliceosomal proteins. So far,its function in vertebrates is unknown.Using conditional gene targeting in mice,we show that CD2BP2 is crucial for embryogenesis, leading to growth retardation, defects in vascularization, and premature death at embryonic day 10.5 when absent.Ablation of the protein in bone marrow-derived macrophages indicates that CD2BP2 is involved in the alternative splicing of mRNA transcripts from diverse origins. At the molecular level,we identified the phosphatase PP1 to be recruited to the spliceosome via the N-terminus of CD2BP2.Given the strong expression of CD2BP2 in podocytes of the kidney,we use selective depletion of CD2BP2,in combination with next-generation sequencing,to monitor changes in exon usage of genes critical for podocyte functions, including VEGF and actin regulators.CD2BP2-depleted podocytes display foot process effacement, and cause proteinuria and ultimately lethal kidney failure in mice.Collectively, our study defines CD2BP2 as a non-redundant splicing factor essential for embryonic development and podocyte integrity.Gesa I.Albert Christoph Schell Karin M.Kirschner Sebastian Schafer Ronald Naumann Alexandra Muller Oliver Kretz Benno Kuropka Mathias Girbig Norbert Hubner Eberhard Krause Holger Scholz Tobias B.Huber Klaus-Peter Knobeloch Christian Freund 2015Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2015,7,5:0
