| 4 | The Effects of Breaststroke Kick Electromyography Muscle Activity显示文摘This paper evaluates the efficiency of using a downward breaststroke kick in a sample of eight elite swimmers.Using a downward breaststroke kick increases the one stroke velocity and max speed but also increases production of lactate acid.Utilizing the downward breaststroke kick we find the 100-meter and 100-yard breaststroke times decrease from 1:05.10s to 1:01.97s and find the downward breaststroke kick increases muscle activity of the quadriceps, biceps, and calves. The increases in performance were observed from measuring the world class swimmers are highly correlated to duration of the kick aerodynamic buoyant force in breaststroke. | Takahisa Ide M.A. William F.Johnson Sadafumi Takise Jan Konarzewski Noriko Inada Hiromasa Fujimori Takeharu Fujimori Emi Moronuki Ken A.Barcinas Kohei Kawamoto Kazuki Watanabe Asahi Nagahata Iryna Glavnyk Daniil Antipov Mark Nikolaev Bogdan Plavin | 2021 | Psychology Research2021,11,8: | 0 |
| 5 | World Class Elite Breaststrokers Downward Kick EMG Muscle Activity of the Gluteus Maximus, Quadriceps Femoris, Hamstring, Gastrocnemius Medialis, Rectus Abdominal, and Erector Spinae显示文摘This study analyzed the difference between using a downward breaststroke kick and a horizontal breaststroke kick in a sample of world class elite swimmers. We compared average muscle activity of the gluteus maximus, quadriceps femoris(vastus medialis and rectus femoris),hamstring/long head of the biceps femoris, gastrocnemius medialis, rectus abdominal, and erector spinae when using the downward breaststroke kick technique. We find that when this sample of swimmers utilized the downward breaststroke kick, max speed and velocity per stroke increased, measured by 12,788 EMG samples, where the results are highly correlated to duration of the aerodynamic buoyant force in breaststroke kick technique. The increases in performance observed from measuring the world class elite swimmers is highly correlated to the duration of the kick aerodynamic buoyant force.Among this sample of elite swimmers, the longer a swimmer demonstrates a buoyant force breaststroke kick, the lower the time in a 100 breaststroke. | Takahisa Ide William F.Johnson Sadafumi Takise Noriko Inada Hiromasa Fujimori Takeharu Fujimori Emi Moronuki Ai Soma Kazuki Watanabe Asahi Nagahata Iryna Glavnyk Mark Nikolaev Bogdan Plavin | 2024 | Psychology Research2024,14,2: | 0 |
| 6 | The Downward Breaststroke Kick Makes Fast Speed and Increased Lactate Acid显示文摘In this study,we assess the effectiveness of utilizing a downward breaststroke kick with regard to the overall time, max speed and velocity per stroke when using a downward breaststroke kick technique. We analyzed breaststroke kick of knee angles from 8 elite world class swimmers. The downward breaststroke kick used in breaststroke competitions resulted in improvements average of 100 yard or 100 meter breaststroke from 1:05.10 s to 1:01.97 s.Increases in performance max speed and velocity per stroke among 9 elite world class swimmers are highly correlated to duration of the kick aerodynamic buoyant farce in breaststroke. The downward breaststroke kick also resulted in an increase in lactate acid. | Takahisa Ide William F Johnson Sadafumi Takise Jan Konarzewski Noriko Inada Hiromasa Fujimori Takeharu Fujimori Emi Moronuki Asahi Nagahata Ken ABarcinas Felipe Dos Santos Yasuhiro Koseki Iryna Glavnyk Mark Nikolaev Daniil Antipov Bogdan Plavin Kohei Kawamoto | 2021 | Journal of Sports Science2021,9,2: | 0 |
| 7 | The Downward Breaststroke Kick Technique: Does Increasing the Kick Angle Decrease Time?显示文摘Breaststroke kick pattern is different from elite breaststrokers to none elite breaststrokers. We analyzed breaststroke kick of knee angles and hip angles from FINA(Fédération internationale de natation)former world record holder,Olympians,World Championship,The International Swimming League(ISL)and NCAA(the National Collegiate Athletic Association)Division 1 championship qualifier.Previous study explored the 1990’s breaststroke kick is very powerful because swimmers can push water back with the soles of their feet for a long period of time.We assess the effectiveness of utilizing a downward kick in the breaststroke with regard to the overall time, max speed, tempo, and velocity when using a downward breaststroke kick technique. We hypothesize that a significant proportion of the improvement is due to the downward breaststroke kick used in breaststroke competitions which resulted in a time improvement in the men’s 100-yard record from 57.04s to 53.69s.Using a downward breaststroke kick in individual medley competition resulted in improvements from 1:15.42s to 1:13.50s in 100-m breaststroke split time men’s 400-m individual medley. We find the introduction of the downward kick in the breaststroke kick is primarily responsible for this improvement in time. | Takahisa Ide William F Johnson Sadafumi Takise Jan Konarzewski Noriko Inada Hiromasa Fujimori Takeharu Fujimori Emi Moronuki Asahi Nagahata Ken ABarcinas Felipe Dos Santos Yasuhiro Koseki Iryna Glavnyk Mark Nikolaev Daniil Antipov Bogdan Plavin | 2021 | Journal of US-China Medical Science2021,18,1: | 0 |
