| 4 | Effects of Honghua preserved amniotic membrane on scar healing in experimental glaucoma surgery显示文摘AIM:To investigate the efficacy and safety of Honghua preserved amniotic membrane(AM)for preventing scar formation of the filtering bleb in a rabbit model of glaucoma trabeculectomy surgery.METHODS:Totally 36 rabbits(36 eyes)were randomly divided into 3 groups:the experimental group(ocular trabeculectomy in combination with Honghua preserved AM transplantation),the control group(ocular trabeculectomy surgery in combination with AM implantation),and the blank group(single trabeculectomy).Clinical observations[including intraocular pressure(IOP),filtering blebs and complications],MassonTrichrome staining,real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(real-time PCR),Western blot were performed on different time points(D1,D7,D14,D21 and D56)after the surgery.RESULTS:After operated for 14d,there were statistically significant differences in the filtering blebs compared to the situation before operation(P<0.05),whereas no statistically difference on that among three groups(P>0.05).After 21d,the IOP of experimental group was lowest(P<0.05).There was significant difference between control group and blank group(P<0.05).On postoperative D14,the mean number of fibroblasts in the experimental group was significantlylower(40.6±10.2)compared to those in the control group(54.4±10.8)and blank group(68.2±11.6)(P<0.05,respectively).The mean numbers of the macrophage in the experimental and control groups were respcitively significantly lower versus the blank group(P<0.05,P<0.05,respectively).Compared to that in blank group,the level of transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β1)expression in sclera and conjunctival areas was reduced in the experimental and control groups on protein and mRNA level(P<0.05),but not significant difference between these two groups(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:The trabeculectory surgery with Honghua preserved AM can control IOP,sustain the functional filtration bleb,inhibit the proliferation of fibroblasts and open the filtrating pathway on the rabbit glaucoma models. | Yi Shao Yao Yu Qiu-Ping Liu Jing-Ming Li Fei Dong Xin Huang Chong-Gang Pei Ping Tu Hen-Hui Li Gui-Ping Gao | 2014 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2014,7,2: | 16 |

| 10 | Alleviation by abscisic acid of Al toxicity in rice bean is not associated with citrate efflux but depends on ABI5-mediated signal transduction pathways显示文摘Under conditions of aluminum(Al) toxicity,which severely inhibits root growth in acidic soils, plants rapidly alter their gene expression to optimize physiological fitness for survival. Abscisic acid(ABA) has been suggested as a mediator between Al stress and gene expression, but the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown. Here,we investigated ABA-mediated Al-stress responses, using integrated physiological and molecular biology approaches.We demonstrate that Al stress caused ABA accumulation in the root apex of rice bean(Vigna umbellata [Thunb.] Ohwi &Ohashi), which positively regulated Al tolerance. However,this was not associated with known Al-tolerance mechanisms. Transcriptomic analysis revealed that nearly one-third of the responsive genes were shared between the Al-stress and ABA treatments. We further identified a transcription factor, ABI5, as being positively involved in Al tolerance. Arabidopsis abi5 mutants displayed increased sensitivity to Al, which was not related to the regulation of AtALMT1 and AtMATE expression. Functional categorization of ABI5-mediated genes revealed the importance of cell wall modification and osmoregulation in Al tolerance, a finding supported by osmotic stress treatment on Al tolerance. | 11 | Crustal velocity structure of the Shaowu-Nanping-Pingtan transect through Fujian from deep seismic sounding-tectonic implications显示文摘The Shaowu-Nanping-Pingtan deep seismic sounding profile is located in northern Fujian Province. High-quality seismic sounding data were acquired by five large explosive blasts received by 133 digital seismic instruments along the profile. Based on seismic facies analysis and travel-time picking on shot record sections, a model of the velocity structure of upper crust was developed by finite-difference tomography of the first breaks; the 2-D P-wave velocity structure and tectonic characteristics of the crust were interpreted further by fitting of waveforms and seismic travel times. The results show that the top of the crystalline basement is buried at depths of 2.0–4.0 km, with the deepest buried up to 4.0 km within the Fuzhou Basin. The Moho interface was found to be deeper in the west and shallower in the east(i.e., 30.0 km near the coast, increasing to 33.0 km northwestward). The lower crust on the east side of the Zhenghe-Haifeng Fault Zone has a smoothly varying gradient structure, whereas on the west side it has two distinct layers with a boundary between those layers at a depth of 23 km. Seismic velocities on the west side are generally lower than on the east side; a low velocity layer is observed with a lowest speed of 6.25 km/s at a depth of 22 km on the west side, which may consist of partially molten material. | 15 | Prediction of Coke Yield of FCC Unit Using Different Artificial Neural Network Models显示文摘In fluid catalytic cracking(FCC) unit, it is greatly important to control the coke yield, since the increase of coke yield not only leads to the reduction of total liquid yield, but also affects the heat balance and operation of FCC unit. Consequently, it is significant to predict the coke yield accurately. The coke formation and burning reactions are affected by many parameters which influence each other, so it is difficult to establish a prediction model using traditional models. This paper combines the industrial production data and establishes a generalized regression neural network(GRNN) model and a back propagation(BP) neural network model to predict the coke yield respectively. The comparison and analysis results show that the accuracy and stability of the BP neural network prediction results are better than that of the GRNN. Then, the particle swarm optimization to optimize BP neural network(PSO-BP) and genetic algorithm to optimize the BP neural network(GA-BP) were further used to improve the prediction precision. The comparison of these models shows that they can improve the prediction precision. | 18 | Baicalin and deferoxamine alleviate iron accumulation in different brain regions of Parkinson's disease rats显示文摘Previous studies found that iron accumulates in the substantia nigra of Parkinson's disease patients. However, it is still unclear whether other brain regions have iron accumulation as well. In this experiment, rats with rotenone-induced Parkinson's disease were treated by gastric perfusion of baicalin or intraperitoneal injection of deferoxamine. Immunohistochemical staining demonstrated that iron accumulated not only in the substantia nigra pars compacta, but also significantly in the striatum globus pallidus, the dentate gyrus granular layer of the hippocampus, the dentate-interpositus and the facial nucleus of the cerebellum. Both baicalin and deferoxamine, which are iron chelating agents, significantly inhibited iron deposition in these brain areas, and substantially reduced the loss of tyrosine hydroxylase-positive cells. These chelators also reduced iron content in the substantia nigra. In addition to the substantia nigra, iron deposition was observed in other brain regions as well. | 19 | Preparation and Evaluation of Novel Solid Chlorine Dioxide-based Disinfectant Powder in Single-pack显示文摘Objective To prepare and evaluate novel chlorine dioxide-based disinfectant powder in single-pack that is more convenient for use and transportation. Methods Orthogonal experiment was performed to determine the recipe of the disinfectant powder. Stability test, suspension quantitative bactericidal test, simulation field trial, and animal toxicity test were carried out to observe its bactericidal and toxicological effects. Results The orthogonal experiment showed that the type of water solution had no effect on the disinfectant powder and the best ratio of sodium chlorite to solid acid was 1:3. Ten grams of the disinfectant powder was fully dissolved in 20 mL water for 2 min, and diluted to 500 mL in water. After 5-10 min, the concentration of chlorine dioxide (ClO2) solution was 266 mg/L to 276 mg/L. After stored at 54℃ for 14 d, the average concentration of ClO2 was decreased by 5.03%. Suspension quantitative bactericidal test showed that the average killing logarithm (KL) value for both Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in 100 mg/L ClO2 solution for 2 min was over 5.00. In simulation field trial, the average descending KL value for Escherichia coli in the solution containing 100 mg/L ClO2 for 5 min was over 3.00. The mouse acute LD50 in the solution 5 times exceeded 5000 mg/kg. The disinfectant powder was not toxic and irritative to rabbit skin and had no mutagenic effect on mouse marrow polychromatic erythrocytes (PCE). Conclusion The stability and bactericidal efficacy of solid chlorine dioxide-based disinfectant powder in single-pack are good. The solution containing 100 mg/L ClO2 can kill vegetative forms of bacteria. The concentration of ClO2 on the disinfecting surface of objects is 100 mg/L. | 20 | Effects of Shugan Jianpi Formula(疏肝健脾方)on Myeloid-Derived Suppression Cells-Mediated Depression Breast Cancer Mice显示文摘Objective:To observe the intervention effect of Shugan Jianpi Formula(疏肝健脾方,SGJPF) on a breast cancer mouse model with depression and investigate the underlying mechanism of SGJPF in preventing the development of breast cancer.Methods:The breast cancer model was induced by inoculation of breast cancer cells,the depression model was induced by chronic stress stimuli,and the depression cancer model was established by combining the two factors.The mice were divided into 7 groups:normal control,depression model,tumor model,depression tumor model,SGJPF,chemotherapy,and SGJPF+chemotherapy groups.The last 3 groups were depression breast cancer mice and treated respectively with SGJPF,chemotherapy drug gemcitabine(GEM),and SGJPF alongside GEM.The condition of the mice was evaluated by the expression of 5-hydroxytryptamine in hippocampus after the sucrose water test and open field test,weight change,and survival time.Tumor growth was monitored with in vivo imaging.Flow cytometry was used to analyze the level of myeloid-derived suppression cell(MDSC) in the mouse spleen,T cell subsets,and the early apoptosis of CD8+T cells.Results:The SGJPF+GEM group had the highest inhibition rate and the longest survival time(P<0.01).The MDSC level and the apoptosis rate of CD8+ T cells was the highest in the SGJPF+GEM group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Depressive disorders and tumor growth could suppress the immune function of mice to different degrees,and the microenvironment in late 4T1 inflammatory breast cancer may play an important role in the pathological process.SGJYF could regulate the immune microenvironment by reducing CD8+ T lymphocyte apoptosis and tumor cell activity,increasing immune surveillance capability,and inhibiting MDSC proliferation,thus prolonging the survival time of tumor-bearing mice. | LU Yu-tong LI Jie QI Xin PEI Ying-xia SHI Wen-guang LIN Hong-sheng | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2017,23,6: | 6 |
