The 2019-nCoV was different from SARS-Co V,but shared the same host receptor the human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2). The natural host of 2019-nCoV may be the bat Rhinolophus affinis as 2019-nCoV showed 96.2% of whole-genome identity to Bat Co V Ra TG13. The person-to-person transmission routes of 2019-nCoV included direct transmission, such as cough, sneeze, droplet inhalation transmission, and contact transmission, such as the contact with oral, nasal, and eye mucous membranes. 2019-nCoV can also be transmitted through the saliva, and the fecal–oral routes may also be a potential person-to-person transmission route. The participants in dental practice expose to tremendous risk of 2019-nCoV infection due to the face-to-face communication and the exposure to saliva, blood, and other body fluids, and the handling of sharp instruments. Dental professionals play great roles in preventing the transmission of2019-nCoV. | 10 | Magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate inhibits inflammatory response through STAT3 pathway to protect remnant liver function显示文摘AIM: To investigate the protective effect of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate(Mg IG) on excessive hepatectomy animal model and its possible mechanism.METHODS: We used the standard 90% hepatectomy model in Sprague-Dawley rats developed using the modified Emond's method,in which the left,middle,right upper,and right lower lobes of the liver were removed. Rats with 90% liver resection were divided into three groups,and were injected intraperitoneally with 3 m L saline(control group),30 mg/kg(low-dose group) and 60 mg/kg(high-dose group) of Mg IG,respectively. Animals were sacrificed at various time points and blood was drawn from the vena cava. Biochemical tests were performed with an automatic biochemical analyzer for the following items: serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),glutamyl endopeptidase,total bilirubin(TBil),direct bilirubin(DBil),total protein,albumin,blood glucose(Glu),hyper-sensitivity C-reactive protein,prothrombin time(PT),and thrombin time(TT). Postoperative survival time was observed hourly until death. Hepatocyte regeneration was analyzed by immunohistochemistry. Serum inflammatory cytokines(IL-1,IL-6,IL-10,and i NOS) was analyzed by ELISA. STAT3 protein and m RNA were analyzed by Western blot and quantitative reversetranscription PCR,respectively.RESULTS: The high-dose group demonstrated a significantly prolonged survival time,compared with both the control and the low-dose groups(22.0 ± 4.7 h vs 8.9 ± 2.0 vs 10.3 ± 3.3 h,P = 0.018). There were significant differences among the groups in ALT,Glu and PT levels starting from 6 h after surgery. The ALT levels were significantly lower in the Mg IG treated groups than in the control group. Both Glu and PT levels were significantly higher in the Mg IG treated groups than in the control group. At 12 h,ALT,AST,TBil,DBil and TT levels showed significant differences between the Mg IG treated groups and the control group. No significant differences in hepatocyte regeneration were found. Compared to the control group,the high-dose group showed a significantly increase in serum inflammatory cytokines IL-1 and IL-10,and a decrease in IL-6. Both STAT3 protein and m RNA levels were significantly lower in the Mg IG treated groups than in the control group at 6 h,12 h,and 18 h after surgery.CONCLUSION: High-dose Mg IG can extend survival time in rats after excessive hepatectomy. | 12 | Evaluation of liver functional reserve by combining D-sorbitol clearance rate and CT measured liver volume显示文摘AIM: Our research attempted to evaluate the overall functional reserve of cirrhotic liver by combination of hepatic functional blood flow, liver volume, and ChildPugh′s classification, and to discuss its value of clinical application.METHODS: Ninety two patients with portal hypertension due to hepatic cirrhosis were investigated. All had a historyof haematemesis and hematochezia, esophageal and gastric fundus varices, splenomegaly and hypersplenia.A 2-year follow-up was routinely performed and no one was lost. Twenty two healthy volunteers were used as control group. Blood and urine samples were collected 4times before and after intravenous D-sorbitol infusion.The hepatic clearance (CLH) of D-sorbitol was then calculated according to enzymatic spectrophotometric method while the total blood flow (QToTAL) and intrahepatic shunt (RINs) were detected by multicolor Doppler ultrasound, and the liver volume was measured by spiral CT. Data were estimated by t-test, variance calculation and chi-squared test. The relationships between all these parameters and different groups were investigated according to Child-Pugh classification and postoperative complications respectively.RESULTS: Steady blood concentration was achieved 120 mins after D-sorbitol intravenous infusion, which was (0.358±0.064) mmoⅠ@L-1 in cirrhotic group and (0.189±0.05)mmol@L-1 in control group (P<0.01). CLH=(812.7±112.4) ml@min-1,QTOTAL=(1280.6±131.4) ml@min-1, and RINS=(36.54±10.65)%in cirrhotic group and CLH=(1248.3±210.5) ml.min-1, QTOTAL=(1362.4-±126.9) ml@min-1, and RINS=(8.37±3.32) % in control group (P<0.01). The liver volume of cirrhotic group was 1057±249 cm3, 851±148 cm3 and 663±77 cm3 in Child A, B and C group respectively with significant difference (P<0.001).The average volume of cirrhotic liver in Child B, C group was significantly reduced in comparison with that in control group (P<0.001). The patient, whose liver volume decreased by 40 % with the CLH below 600 ml@min-1, would have a higher incidence of postoperative complications. There was no strict correspondent relationship between CLH, liver volume and Child-Pugh′s classification.CONCLUSION: The hepatic clearance of D-sorbitol, CT measured liver volume can be reliably used for the evaluation of hepatic functional blood flow and liver metabolic volume. | 13 | Preliminary results of FeO mapping using Imaging Interferometer data from Chang'E-1显示文摘Information about the variability,and spatial distribution of iron abundance is important to understand lunar geological history and for future resource utilization. In this paper we present a preliminary model to produce an iron abundance map using images taken by an Imaging Interferometer on board the satellite Chang'E-1. Compared with the Clementine UVVIS images,the images from the Chang'E-1 satellite also allowed for the extraction of FeO abundance distributions on the Moon.
