| 1 | Bioaccumulation of Heavy Metal in Wild Growing Mushrooms from Liangshan Yi Nationality Autonomous Prefecture,China显示文摘The heavy metal bioaccumulation levels of 13 species of mushrooms were studied. 13 different species of wild mush-rooms growing in China were analyzed for Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, and As. Contents of Cu, Zn, Cd and Pb in mushroom and Cu, Zn in soil were tested by atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS), and As in samples by atomic fluorescent light (AFL). Contents of Cd and Pb in soil were analyzed by graphite furnace AAS. The results showed that contents of Cu, Pb, Cd, and As in Termitomyces microcarpus were the highest in the tested mushroom samples, which were 135.00, 13.28, 65.30, and 1.60 mg·kg-1 (dry biomass) respectively, and the corresponding bioconcentration factor (BCF) for Cu and Cd was 57 and 1 674 separately, which was the highest data in 13 mushroom species. | 2 | A Probabilistic View of Debris Flow显示文摘Most debris flows occur in valleys of area smaller than 50 km2. While associated with a valley, debris flow is by no means a full-valley event but originates from parts of the valley, i.e., the tributary sources. We propose that debris flow develops by extending from tributaries to the mainstream. The debris flow observed in the mainstream is the confluence of the tributary flows and the process of the confluence can be considered as a combination of the tributary elements. The frequency distribution of tributaries is found subject to the Weibull form (or its generalizations). And the same distribution form applies to the discharge of debris flow. Then the process of debris flow is related to the geometric structure of the valley. Moreover, viewed from a large scale of water system, all valleys are tributaries, which have been found to assume the same distribution. With each valley corresponding to a debris flow, the distribution can be taken as the frequency distribution of debris flow and therefore provides a quantitative description of the fact that debris flow is inclined to occur at valley of small size. Furthermore, different parameters appear in different regions, suggesting the regional differentials of debris flow potential. We can use the failure rate, instead of the size per se, to describe the risk of a valley of a given area. | 3 | An α-expansin, VfEXPA1, is involved in regulation of stomatal movement in Vicia faba L.显示文摘The wall loosening of guard cells differs from other types of plant cells. However, the regulation of wall loosening during stomatal movement is poorly understood. VfEXPA1 is an α-expansin gene cloned from Vicia faba epidermal strips. Expression of VfEXPA1 is regulated by darkness and submergence, and is not affected by light and abscisic acid (ABA). In situ hybridization showed that VfEXPA1 is expressed primarily in the guard cells. Overexpression of VfEXPA1 in transgenic tobacco accelerated light-induced stomatal opening, and increased both transpiration and photosynthetic rates under favorable growth conditions. | 5 | Seizures dynamics in a neural field model of cortical-thalamic circuitry显示文摘The focus of this study is to explore the mechanisms during seizure behavior using a physiologically motivated by corticothalamic circuity. The model is based on the assumption that, the inhibitory projects from thalamus reticular nucleus(TRN) to specific relay nuclei(SRN) are mediated by GABAA and GABAB receptors which react different time scales in synaptic transmission.Secondly, we include the effects of slow modulation on the threshold current of TRN population that were found to generate bursting behavior. Our model can reproduce healthy and pathological dynamics including wake, spindle, deep sleep, and also seizure states. In addition, contour maps are used to explore the transition of different activity states. It is worthy to point out seizure duration is significantly affected by a time-varying delay as illustrated in our numerical simulation.
