The control of syndepositional faulting on the Eogene sedimentary basin fills of the Dongying and Zhanhua sags, Bohai Bay Basin显示文摘The Dongying and Zhanhua sags are the major hydrocarbon exploration and produc- tion subbasins in the Bohai Bay Basin. Integrated analysis of the sedimentary basin fills has shown that the syndepositional faults and their arrangement styles exerted an important influ- ence on the development and distribution of the Eogene depositional systems. The sedimentary filling evolution of the subbasins reflects the general control of the episodic rifting process. The major long-term active normal faults formed a series of paleogeomorphic accident or slopebreak zones that commonly delineated the subsidiary palaeostructural units and the depositional facies tracts and constrained the general distribution of sedimentary facies zones. The central sag boundary fault slopebreak zones usually determined the distribution of the depocenters of ter- restrial clastic depositional systems, particularly the lowstand fans or deltaic depositional sys- tems, and have proven to be the economically important targets for the exploration of subtle sandstone reservoirs. A variety of syndepositional fault arrangement patterns, including the par- allel, en echelon, combo-like, broom-like fault systems and the fault overlap or transfer zones, have been recognized in the subbasins. They generated distinctive geomorphic features and exerted a direct influence on sediment dispersal and sandbody distribution during the Eogene synrift stage. It is the key for the prediction of depositional systems tracts and reservoir sand- stones to investigate the activity and distribution of the fault slopebreak zones and reconstruct the structural paleogeomorphy in different basin filling stages of the basin evolution.LIN Changsong1, ZHENG Herong2, REN Jianye1, LIU Jingyan1 & Qiu Yigang1 1. 2Structural characteristics of the Tan-Lu fault zone in Cenozoic basins offshore the Bohai Sea显示文摘The Tan-Lu fault zone across the eastern margin of the Cenozoic basins offshore the Bohai Sea is a NNE-trending right-lateral strike-slip fault system developed in the Cenozoic basin cover. It cuts through NE-to NNE-striking major extensional faults that controlled the formation of Paleogene basins. Recent petroleum exploration indicates that Cenozoic structural activities of the Tan-Lu fault system have directly or indirectly affected oil and gas distribution offshore the Bohai Sea. As part of a deep fault zone the Tan-Lu fault zone has been activated since the Oligocene, and obviously affected the tectonic evolution of offshore Bohai basins since then. The formation of Paleogene rift basins offshore the Bohai Sea has utilized the pre-existing structural elements of the Tan-Lu fault zone that developed in the late Mesozoic.QI JiaFu1,2,ZHOU XinHuai3,DENG RongJing4 & ZHANG KeXin2 1 State Key Laboratory of Petroleum Resource and Prospecting,China Petroleum University,Beijing 102249,China 2 Department of Earth Sciences,China Petroleum University,Beijing 102200,China 3 Tianjin Branch of CNOOC China Limited,Tianjin 300451,China 4 Beijing Research Center of CNOOC China Limited,Beijing100027,China 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,S2:33
Structural characteristics and petroliferous features of Tarim Basin显示文摘Using the modern tectonic geology theories andmethods such as the plate tectonic analysis, the paleo-struc-ture analysis, the structural-Iithofacies analysis, and the faultrelated fold and petroleum system, and combining with theseismic data, well drilling data and the circumferential fieldgeology, study on the structural characteristics and petro-leum prospect in the Tarim Basin has been carried out. Re-sults show that the Tarim Basin is a large superimpositionand combination basin with continental crustal basement, composed of a Paleozoic craton and Meso-Cenozoic forelandbasins. The characteristics of the basin are: the kernel partof the basin is the marine facies Paleozoic craton, superim-posed 4 continental facies foreland basins. Though the scaleof the paleozoic craton of the Tarim Basin is relatively small, the structure is steady. The petroleum prospect of the Paleo-zoic craton is: multiphase pool-generation and accumulationcontrolled by ancient uplift. The Meso-Cenozoic forelandbasins in the Tarim Basin, which are distributed on the era-tonic circumference and are a long-term subsidence, turnedinto rejuvenated foreland basins after the Meso-Cenozoicperiod. The petroleum prospects are: coal-bed generatinghydrocarbon, abundant natural gas, pool-generation in laterand recent periods, the oil and gas distribution controlled bythe foreland thrust belt. The structural characteristics ofTarim provide it with a superimposition and combinationpetroleum system of multiple resources, multiple reservoirsand multiphase pool-generation. The oil and gas explorationprospect covers two large fields: the Paleozoic craton and theMeso-Cenozoic foreland thrust belt.JIA Chengzao~1 & WEI Guoqi~2 1. 4Total alkyl dibenzothiophenes content tracing the filling pathway of condensate reservoir in the Fushan Depression,South China Sea显示文摘The condensates are generally characterized by high maturity, low concentration of steranes and ter-panes biomarkers and low content of non-hydrocarbon fraction. In this case commonly used steranes, terpanes and carbazoles parameters cannot be effectively applied in the reservoir-filling tracing. The hydrogen bond formed by sulfur atom in the dibenzothiophenes (DBTs) results in molecule adsorption and fractionation during oil migration in reservoir. Like carbazoles, total DBTs content decreases with the increasing of oil migration distance. Therefore,a new parameter——total DBTs content is proposed to be used to trace the oil migration orientation and filling pathway. In present study, total DBTs con-tents of condensates and light oils are obtained by adding internal standard——eight deuterium atoms substituted DBT during Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry analysis of aromatic fraction. Except for a few samples with much lower content of non-hydrocarbon fraction, the total DBTs content shows a fine positive correlation with that of carbazoles. Large errors can be caused in the process of pyrrolic nitrogen compounds separation. The application of this new parameter in the Fushan Depression of Beibu Gulf Basin,South China Sea indicates that this parameter is a reliable one to trace filling pathway in condensate reservoirs. Combined with other DBTs-related parameters, such as 4-/1-methydibenzo-thiophene and 2,4-/1,4-dimethyldibenzothiophene,oil migration orientation and filling pathway of the Fushan Depression was determined. The accumulations of Huachang oil field in the Fushan Depres-sion are mainly migrated and charged from northeast to southeast along the Huachang uplift. It can be predicated that the light oil and condensates in the Huachang oil field should be sourced from the source kitchen at the Bailian Sag. It shows that total DBTs content is an effective parameter to tracing oil migration orientation and filling pathway.LI MeiJun1,WANG TieGuan1,LIU Ju2,ZHANG MeiZhu2,LU Hong3,MA QinLin2 & GAO LiHui2 1 State Key Laboratory of Petroleum Resources and Prospecting,Earth Sciences and Geoinformatics School,China University of Petroleum,Beijing 102249,China 2 Southern Oil Exploration and Development Company,PetroChina,Guangzhou 510640,China 3 Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Guangzhou 510240,China 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,S2:24
Permeability analysis of fractured vuggy porous media based on homogenization theory显示文摘Based on the characteristics of fractured vuggy porous media,a novel mathematical model was proposed to model fluid flow in such media on fine scale,i.e.,the discrete fracture-vug network model. The new model consists of three systems:porous rock system, fracture system, and vug system. The fractures and vugs are embedded in porous rock, and the isolated vugs could be connected via the discrete fracture network. The flow in porous rock and fractures follows Darcy's law,and the vugs system is free fluid region.Using a two-scale homogenization limit theory,we obtained a macroscopic Darcy's law governing the media on coarse scale. The theoretical formula of the equivalent permeability of the fractured vuggy porous media was derived. The model and method of this paper were verified by some numerical examples. At the end the permeability of some fractured vuggy porous media with typical fracture-vug structures was analyzed.HUANG ZhaoQin,YAO Jun,LI YaJun,WANG ChenChen&LüXinRui College of Petroleum Engineering,China University of Petroleum,Qingdao 266555,China 2010Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,3:22
Discovery of a Late Permian Angara-Cathaysia mixed flora from Acheng of Heilongjiang,China, with discussions on the closure of the Paleoasian Ocean显示文摘This work documents a new flora from the Upper Permian Hongshan Formation of Acheng County, Heilongjiang Province, Northwest China. The flora consists of 20 species: Paracalamites sp., Pecopteris tangwangheensis Huang, Callipteris obese Huang, Callipteris shenshuensis Huang, C. tangwangheensis Huang, C. heilongjiangensis Huang, C. zeilleri Zalessky, C. sp., Comia yichunensis Huang, C. tenueaxis Huang, Iniopteris sibirica Zalessky, Supaia teiliensis Huang, Compsopteris tchirkovae Zalessky, C. cf. adzvensis Zalessky, Nilssonia sp. 1, Nil. sp. 2, Taeniopteris cf. densissima Halle, T. cf. nystraemii Halle, T. sp. and Noeggerathiopsis derzavinii Neub. It is dominated by Angara species but mixed with some typical Cathaysian elements. The age of the flora is assigned to late of the Late Permian according to the stratigraphic ranges of the known species and the comparisons of it with the similar floras. The new discovery indicates that the final collision between the North China Plate and Siberian Plate occurred in Late Permian along the Xar Moron River-Changchun-Yanji sutured zone, and the Paleoasian Ocean was finally closed at the end of the Permian.DENG ShengHui1,2, WAN ChuanBiao3 & YANG JianGuo3 1 Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, PetroChina, Beijing 100083, China 2 State Key Laboratory of Enhanced Oil Recovery, Beijing 100083 China 3 Daqing Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, PetroChina, Daqing 164712, China 2009Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,11:22
The distribution rule and seepage effect of the fractures in the ultra-low permeability sandstone reservoir in east Gansu Province,Ordos Basin显示文摘To study the impact of the fractures on development in the ultra-low permeability sandstone reservoir of the Yangchang Formation of the Upper Triassic in the Ordos Basin, data on outcrops, cores, slices, well logging and experiments are utilized to analyze the cause of the formation of the fractures, their distribution rules and the control factors and discuss the seepage flow effect of the fractures. In the studied area developed chiefly high-angle tectonic fractures and horizontal bedding fractures,inter-granular fractures and grain boundary fractures as well. Grain boundary fractures and intragranular fractures serve as vital channels linking intragranular pores and intergranular solution pores in the reservoir matrix, thus providing a good connectivity between the pores in the ultra-low perme-ability sandstone reservoir. The formation of fractures and their distribution are influenced by such external and internal factors as the palaeo-tectonic stress field, the reservoir lithological character, the thickness of the rock layer and the anisotropy of a layer. The present-day stress field influences the preservative state of fractures and their seepage flow effect. Under the tec-tonic effect of both the Yanshan and Himalayan periods,in this region four sets of fractures are distributed, respectively assuming the NE-SW,NW-SE,nearly E-W and nearly S-N orientations, but, due to the effect of the rock anisotropy of the rock formation,in some part of it two groups of nearly orthogonal fractures are chiefly distributed. Under the effect of the present-day stress field, the fractures that assume the NE-SW direction have a good connectivity, big apertures,a high permeability and a minimum starting pressure, all of which are main advantages of the seepage fractures in this region. With the development of oilfields, the permeability of the fractures of dif-ferent directions will have a dynamic change.ZENG LianBo1,GAO ChunYu2,QI JiaFu1,WANG YongKang2,LI Liang2 & QU XueFeng2 1 State Key Laboratory of Petroleum Resource and Prospecting,China University of Petroleum,Beijing 102249,China 2 Changqing Oilfield Branch,PetroChina,Xi’an 163517,China 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,S2:22
In-situ synthesis of nanoparticles via supersolubilizing micelle self-assembly显示文摘In-situ synthesis of nano-particles using the self-assembly of molten salt and super soluble micellae was proposed based on a phenomenon of super solubilization of molten salt in reverse micellae and its self-assembly when the concentration reached up to 95%(w/w).The mechanism of the self-assembly indicates that the self-assembly of molten salt occurs in a reverse micelle where a homogenous phase is established between 5%(w/w)of a surfactant with a VB value of less than 1 and a hydrocarbon spe- cies. This synthesis has some unique features, such as being free of water, highly effective deposition and narrow distribution of particle size.WANG DingCong Fushun Research Institute of Petroleum&Petrochemicals,China Petroleum&Chemical Corporation(SINOPEC),Fushun 113001, China(email:wangdingcong@hotmail.com) 2007Science China Chemistry2007,50,1:19
Preliminary study on the origin identification of natural gas by the parameters of light hydrocarbon显示文摘The light hydrocarbon composition of 209 natural gas samples and individual light hydrocarbon carbon isotopes of 53 natural gas samples from typical humic-sourced gas and sapropelic-sourced gas in the four basins of China have been determined and analyzed. Some identification parameters for humic-sourced gas and sapropelic-sourced gas are proposed or corrected. The differences of compound-specificδ13C value of individual light hydrocarbon between humic-sourced gas and sapropelic-sourced gas have been founded. The humic-sourced gas has the distribution ofδ13C benzene > -24‰,δ13C toluene >-23‰,δ13C cyclohexane >-24‰andδ13C methyl cyclohexane >-24‰,while the sapropelicsourced gas has the distribution ofδ13C benzene <-24‰,δ13C toluene <-24‰,δ13C cyclohexane <-24‰and δ13C methyl cyclohexane <-24‰.Among the components of C7 light hydrocarbon compound, such as normal heptane(nC7),methyl cyclohexane(MCH)and dimethyl cyclopentane(ΣDMCP),etc, relative contents of nC7 and MCH are influenced mainly by the source organic matter type of natural gas. Therefore,it is suggested that the gas with relative content of nC7 of more than 30%and relative content of MCH of less than 70%is sapropelic-sourced gas, while gas with relative content of nC7 of less than 35%and relative content of MCH of more than 50%is humic-sourced gas.Among components of C5-7 aliphatics, the gas with relative content of C5-7 normal alkane of more than 30%is sapropelic-sourced gas, while the gas with relative content of C5-7 normal alkane of less than 30%is humic-sourced gas. These paremeters have been suggested to identify humic-sourced gas and sapropelic-sourced gas.HU GuoYi 1,2,3 ,LI Jian 1,2 ,LI Jin 1,2 ,LI ZhiSheng 1,2 ,LUO Xia 1,2 ,SUN QingWu 1,2 &MA ChengHua 1,2 1 Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development(Langfang Branch),Petrochina,Langfang 065007,China 2 The Key Laboratory of Gas Formation and Development,Petrochina,Langfang 065007,China 3 College of Geo-Resources and Information,China University of Petroleum,Beijing 102200,China 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,S1:19
Deep seismic reflection profiling revealing the complex crustal structure of the Tongling ore district显示文摘The deep seismic profiling across the Tongling ore district reveals a complex crustal structure. Strong contrasting dipping layered reflections (4—11 s, TWT),which dominate the lower crust of the northern part of the profile, are interpreted as the underplating of the basalt related to extensional tectonism. In the south of the profile, the Yangtze craton is characterized by strong reflections in the middle crust, showing a distinct two-layer crustal structure. Over the region of the Tongling uplift, there appear the complex arc shape reflections, suggesting folded, faulted and intruded structures, and the transparent zone below them reveals the existence of batholith. The south dipping strong reflections between the upper crust and lower crust (4—7 s, TWT) suggest a detachment between them. The detachment provided space for the magma intrusion, and caused the formation of the batholith. The Yangtze craton has a clear Moho re-flection, while the Tongling uplift has a weak Moho, whereas below the reflective lower crust in the northern part of the profile, there are sub-Moho reflections. The abrupt variation of the Moho characteristics within a short distance indicates the complexity of magmatic activity.L5 Qingtian1, HOU Zengqian1, ZHAO Jinhua1, SHI Danian1, WU Xuanzhi1, CHANG Yinfo1, PEI Rongfu1,HUANG Dongding2 & KUANG Chaoyang2 1. 11Multi-level decollement zones and detachment deformation of Longmenshan thrust belt,Sichuan Basin, southwest China显示文摘As is well known that many decollement layers were developed in the Longmenshan thrust belt,Si-chuan Basin,China. Through field investigation, explanation of seismic profiles and analysis of the balanced sections,we can divide the decollement zones into 3 categories: (1) the deep level decolle-ment zones, including the crust-mantle decollement layer, intracrustal decollement layer, and presinian basal decollement layer. The main structural styles of their deformation are the crust-mantle decoup-ling detachment deformation, the basal ductile shear deformation, etc.; (2) the middle level decollement zones, including the Cambrian-Ordovician decollement layer, the Silurian decollement layer, etc.,the main structural styles of their deformation are the isopachous fold, the angular fold, the saddle struc-ture,and the combination styles of them; and (3) the shallow level decollement zones, including the Xujiahe Formation decollement layer of Upper Triassic and the Jurassic decollement layers, the main structural styles of their deformation are the thrust-nappe tectonic, the pop-up,the triangle zone ,the duplex, etc. Multi-level decollement zones not only made the Longmenshan thrust belt develop many different deformation styles from deep place to shallow place, but also made some local areas have the superimposition of the tectonic deformation apparently. This study indicates that the multi-level de-collement zones have a very important effect on the shaping and evolution of the Longmenshan thrust belt.TANG LiangJie1,2,3,YANG KeMing4,JIN WenZheng1,2,3,L ZhiZhou4 & YU YiXin1,2,3 1 State Key Laboratory of Petroleum Resource and Prospecting,China University of Petroleum,Beijing 102249,China 2 Key Laboratory for Hydrocarbon Accumulation Mechanism,China University of Petroleum,Ministry of Education,Beijing 102249,China 3 Basin and Reservoir Research Center,China University of Petroleum,Beijing 102249,China 4 Southwest Division Company,SINOPEC,Chengdu 610081,China 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,S2:18
Ancient Changjiang channel system in the East China Sea continental shelf during the last glaciation显示文摘Based on the data of high-resolution seismic profiles, an ancient river channel sys-tem of the last glaciation occurred along the Zhedong and Xihu depression in the southeast of Hupijiao rise. The distribution of the channel fill system shows that the ancient Changjiang River went through the Changjiang depression into the low land plain of the outside continental shelf during the low sea level cycle of the last glaciation. The big channel fill into Okinawa Trough is not found due to the depletion of the river kinetic energy in the low land plain. The river discharge dispersal was of an important role to the dilution of the northern Okinawa Trough sea at that time. Six ancient river channel systems (A―F), which are main distributaries of ancient Changjiang in the East China Sea continental shelf during the last glaciation, may be buried off the modern Changjiang estuary. The distribution of these channels coincides with the zonal elevations in the sea floor.LI Guangxue1,2, LIU Yong1, YANG Zigeng3, YUE Shuhong4, YANG Wenda5 & HAN Xibin1 1. 13The migration fractionation: an important mechanism in the formation of condensate and waxy oil显示文摘Fault-initiated pressure release within reservoirs and the injection of external excessive dry gas may result in occurrence of oil and gas phases. Because of different partitioning coefficients of compounds in two phase flow, lower-molecular-weight components are easier to dissolve in gas phase, yielding condensates, while higher-molecular-weight components are retained in the oil phase, yielding waxy oil cumulations. The fractionation process causes extensive compositional variability in aliphatic/aromatic hydrocarbon ratios, molecular compound distributions and carbon isotope ratios that are traditionally considered to be related to the source organic matter or the thermal maturity.ZHANG ShuichangKey Laboratory for Petroleum Geochemistry, China National Petroleum Corporation, Beijing 100083, China 2000Chinese Science Bulletin2000,45,14:17
Recent developments in study of the typical superimposed basins and petroleum accumulation in China: Exemplified by the Tarim Basin显示文摘Most of petroliferous sedimentary basins in China have experienced multiple phases of tectonic evolution and deposition, and are characterized by tectonic and depositional superimposition. The term 'superimposed basin' is suggested to describe those basins which consist of two or more simple prototype basins superimposing vertically and/or coalescing later-ally. The characteristics of petroliferous superimposed basins are 'multiple stages of basin forming and reworking, multiple layers of source rocks, multiple periods of hydrocarbon genera-tion and expulsion, multiple periods of petroleum migration-accumulation-escape'. Therefore, applying the wave process analysis method to studying the process of basin formation, hydro-carbon generation, and reservoir formation, and then establishing theory of 'petroleum accumu-lation system' is helpful to enhancing petroleum exploration efficiency in superimposed basins. This paper will, based on case study in the Tarim basin, report the major developments in studying basin formation, hydrocarbon generation and petroleum accumulation. In study of basin formation, (1) geophysical comprehensive profiles reveal that the Tarim plate has been sub-ducted beneath the Tianshan orogenic belt with an interfinger structure and that the deep struc-ture in the eastern section of the Tianshan orogenic belt is different from that in the western sec-tion. (2) The vertical variation in debris and geochemical composition reveals the nature and Mesozoic-Cenozoic evolution history of the Kuqa Depression. (3) Field investigation and paleo-stress reconstruction show that the Kuqa Depression has undergone gravity-driven extension in sedimentary cover when the Tianshan uplifted vertically. In hydrocarbon generation study, new developments include (1) setting environmental index to judge high grade source rocks in marine carbonates, and (2) establishing the lower limit of the organic carbon content for effective car-bonate source rocks. In petroleum accumulation study, (1) methods of determining paleopres-sure and paleotemperature of forming fluid inclusions have been established. (2) The petroleum source analysis has indicated that the erude oil in the Lunnan and Tahe oilfields are derived from the source rocks of the Middle and Upper Ordovician. (3) Three generations of oil inclusions from the Lunnan oilfield have been recognized and dated.JIN Zhijun1 & WANG Qingchen2 1. 15Distribution characteristics and petroleum geological significance of the Silurian asphaltic sandstones in Tarim Basin显示文摘The Tarim Basin is a typical superimposed basin in which there have occurred mul-tiphase adjustment and destruction of the reservoirs. The widely distributed asphaltic sandstones of the Silurian are the very product after destruction of the reservoirs. Studies show that the Silu-rian asphaltic sandstones distributed in both the middle and western parts on the basin are con-trolled chiefly by the Caledonian oil source area and by the Tazhong, Tabei and Bachu uplifts, whereas the distribution of the asphaltic sandstones on local structural belts is controlled by the reservoirs sedimentary system. Vertically, most of the asphaltic sandstones are under the re-gional caprock of red mudstones and the upper sandstone section of compact lithology. Due to the difference of hydrocarbon destruction in the early stage and the influence of hydrocarbon recharge in the late stage, the asphaltic sandstones and oil-bearing sandstones in the Tazhong area can be vertically divided into the upper and lower sections and they have an interactive distribution relationship as well. Asphaltic sandstones exist not only in intergranular pores but also inside the grains of sand and between the crevices, proving the destruction of early reser-voirs due to uplifting. The existence of asphaltic sandstones over a large area reveals that the large-scale migration and accumulation and the subsequent destruction of hydrocarbons in the Craton area. The destruction caused a loss of the reserve resources of the Palaeozoic amount-ing to nearly 13.3 billion tons. Asphaltic sandstones formed after the destruction of oil and gas may serve as an effective caprock which is beneficial to accumulation of hydrocarbons and for-mation of the pool sealed by asphaltic sandstones in the later stage. The destruction of the early Silurian hydrocarbons depends on the stratigraphic burial depth. The deep part under the north-ern slope of Tazhong is an area favorable to search of undestroyed Silurian oil reservoirs.ZHANG Jun1,2, PANG Xiongqi1,2, LIU Luofu1,2, JIANG Zhenxue1,2 & LIU Yunhong3 1. 16Hierarchy modeling of subsurface palaeochannel reservoir architecture显示文摘The studies on fluvial reservoir architecture are mainly aimed at outcrop and modern deposition, but rarely at the subsurface reservoir,so there are few effective methods to predict the distribution of subsurface reservoir architectures. In this paper, taking the meandering river reservoir of Guantao formation Gudao Oilfield,Jiyang depression,Baohai Gulf Basin,East China as an example, the archi-tectural modeling method of complex meandering belt reservoir is proposed, that is hierarchy con-straint,pattern fitting and multi-dimensional interaction. Architectures of meandering river reservoir can be divided into three hierarchies: meandering channel sandbody, point bar and lateral accretion body. Different hierarchies of the quantitative architecture pattern are fitted to subsurface well data (including dynamic monitoring data) in different hierarchies through one-dimensional hole,2D profiles and plane and 3D space, which are verified by each other. And then 3D model in different hierarchies is established. At the same time, the quantificational relationship between width of active river and the scale of point bar is set up,and the scale of lateral accretion sand body and shale beddings is con-firmed with horizontal well data. The study not only has significant meaning on the development of geology, but also can improve the oilfield exploitation greatly.WU ShengHe1,YUE DaLi1,LIU JianMin2,SHU QingLin2,FAN Zheng1,3 & LI YuPeng1 1 Earth Sciences and Geoinformatics School,China University of Petroleum,Beijing 102249,China 2 SINOPEC Shengli Oilfield Co. 17Distribution and fractionation mechanism of stable carbon isotope of coalbed methane显示文摘The stable carbon isotope values of coalbed methane range widely, and also are gener- ally lighter than that of gases in normal coal-formed gas fields with similar coal rank. There exists strong carbon isotope fractionation in coalbed methane and it makes the carbon isotope value lighter. The correlation between the carbon isotope value and Ro in coalbed methane is less obvious. The coaly source rock maturity cannot be judged by coalbed methane carbon isotope value. The carbon isotopes of coalbed methane become lighter in much different degree due to the hydrodynamics. The stronger the hydrodynamics is, the lighter the CBM carbon isotopic value becomes. Many previous investigations indicated that the desorption-diffusion effects make the carbon isotope value of coalbed methane lighter. However, the explanation has encountered many problems. The authors of this arti- cle suggest that the flowing groundwater dissolution to free methane in coal seams and the free methane exchange with absorbed one is the carbon isotope fractionation mechanism in coalbed methane. The flowing groundwater in coal can easily take more 13CH4 away from free gas and com- paratively leave more 12CH4. This will make 12CH4 density in free gas comparatively higher than that in absorbed gas. The remaining 12CH4 in free gas then exchanges with the adsorbed methane in coal matrix. Some absorbed 13CH4 can be replaced and become free gas. Some free 12CH4 can be ab- sorbed again into coal matrix and become absorbed gas. Part of the newly replaced 13CH4 in free gas will also be taken away by water, leaving preferentially more 12CH4. The remaining 12CH4 in free gas will exchange again with adsorbed methane in the coal matrix. These processes occur all the time. Through accumulative effect, the 12CH4 will be greatly concentrated in coal. Thus, the stable carbon isotope of coalbed methane becomes dramatically lighter. Through simulation experiment on wa- ter-dissolved methane, it had been proved that the flowing water could fractionate the carbon isotope of methane, and easily take heavy carbon isotope away through dissolution.QIN Shengfei1, TANG Xiuyi2, SONG Yan1 & WANG Hongyan3 1. 18Seismic multi-arch structures in East China显示文摘In previous papers (Wencai, 2002, 2003), the author has analyzed the deep seismic reflection profiles along some of the Mesozoic plutons in East China, and has pointed out that the crustal structures around these intrusions usually correlate with a special seismic fabric called the seismic multi-arch structure. This paper will continue to show main characteristics of the seismic multi-arch structures and discuss their relationship with mantle-origin magmatism and the lithospheric thinning process. Calibration of seismic reflectors in Chinese continental drilling sites shows that small-scale arch-like reflectors can be generated by fractured eclogites or other plutons, they do not belong to the multi-arch structure specially discussed in the paper. The multi-arch structure is char-acterized by several arch-like reflectors distributed in both the upper and lower crust with granitoid plutons or stocks exposed on the surface, which do not have obvious negative Europium anomalies. Based on the distribution pattern of arch reflectors, the multi-arch magmatic structures can be divided into three main types, namely the simple vertical combination type, the spread arch magmatic struc-ture and the arch-bouquet structure. All of them correlate to mantle-origin magmatism, but occur in different places. The spread arch magmatic structures occur within a Mesozoic/Cenozoic rift zone with very thin and hot lithosphere. The vertical combination type of the multi-arch structures occurred near the rift zones where lithosphere was thin and hot. The arch-bouquet magmatic structures occur far from the rift zones where the lithosphere is not hot. The continental rifting acted as the late episode of the lithospheric thinning process seeing that the rift zones usually coincide with the thinnest parts of the lithosphere in East China. In different locations within the lithospheric thinning areas, mantle-origin magmatic activities have different characteristics, which might generate different types of crustal structures revealed by the different types of the multi-arch magmatic structures. Therefore, high-quality deep seismic reflection profiles can be used indirectly to identify the pattern and scale of Mesozoic/Cenozoic lithospheric thinning processes and characteristics of the corresponding man-tle-origin magmatic activities.YANG Wencai1 & CHEN Zhide2 1.Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Beijing 100037, China 2.Daqing Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Production, Daqing 163712, China 2006Science China Earth Sciences2006,49,2:14
Tectonic stress field and its effect on hydrocarbon migration and accumulation in Mesozoic and Cenozoic in Kuqa depression, Tarim basin显示文摘Through rock acoustic emission experiments and structural deformation analysis, the tectonic stages in Meso-Cenozoic in the Kuqa depression of the Tarim basin are firstly divided. Then, combining with rock magnetic fabric analysis and memory information, the distribution characteristics of tectonic stress field of every tectonic stage are quantificationally resumed. At the same time, according to the distribution relation of tectonic stress field of hydrocarbon for-mation stage by the finite element numerical simulation method and the known hydrocarbon reservoirs, the effects of tectonic stress field on hydrocarbon migration and accumulation are further analyzed. The Kuqa depression has mainly experienced six tectonic movements since Mesozoic. Except that the tectonic stress field of the Early Yanshan stage (208—135 Ma) showed northeast-southwest extensional stress field where the orientation of the maximum prin-cipal compressive stress (s 1) was northwest-southeast, the others were compressive stress field where the orientations of the maximum principal compressive stress (s 1) were near north-south. Along with the closure of the paleo-Tethys ocean, the Kuqa depression in the Indosinian stage (250—208 Ma) was in strong compressive circumstance with apparently big maximum principal stress (s 1) magnitude. Due to the equilibrium adjustment of interior Eurasia, the Kuqa depression in the Early Yanshan stage (208—135 Ma) was in weak extensional circumstance with appar-ently small maximum principal stress (s 1) magnitude. From the Late Yanshan stage (135—65 Ma) on, with a series of collision events occurring at the south edge of Eurasia, the Kuqa depression was in compressive circumstance again in which the maximum principal stress (s 1) magnitude was from small to big in turn. The Late Himalayan stage (2.6—0.7 Ma) was the main tectonic deformation stage with the biggest principal compressive stress (s 1) magnitude. Tectonic stress field plays a dominant role in hydrocarbon formation, it not only forms migration channels and trap structures for hydrocarbon accumulation, but also is the main drive power for hydrocarbon migration vertically along faults.ZENG Lianbo1, TAN Chengxuan2 & ZHANG Mingli3 1. 20Laboratory simulation on acoustic well-logging with phased array transmitter显示文摘Two small scale acoustic phased arrays with 4 elements have been designed and assembled in the laboratory. Experiments have been carried out with them. It is found that both directivity and radiation lobe width of the phased array can be regulated by changing the time delay between the input signals on neighboring elements. Results measured are in good agreement with those calculated. By using the phased array as an acoustic transmitter and hydrophone as a receiver, small scale acoustic well-logging simulations have been carried out both on an aluminum model well and on a concrete one. Experimental results show that, by increasing the time delay of the input signals on neighboring elements, the steered radiation angle of the phased array becomes larger and larger, and generation conditions of the refracted compressional wave and the refracted shear wave are reached successively, and the refracted compressional wave, the refracted shear wave and the Stoneley wave axe strengthened, respectively. Therefore, by choosing element spacing of a phased array and acoustic wave frequency appropriately, the main radiation lobe of the phased array can be widened to cover the first critical angle of all kinds of formations, which makes it possible to apply phased array acoustic well-logging in any formation continuously without regulating directivity of the phased array.QIAO Wenxiao CHEN Xuelian DU Guangsheng FANG Jun LI Gang(Faculty of Natural Resources and Information Technology, University of Petroleum Beijing 102249) 2003Chinese Journal of Acoustics2003,22,4:14
