1SEDIMENT TRANSPORTED BY DEBRIS FLOWTO THE LOWER JINSHA RIVER显示文摘The lower Jinsha River is an area with the highest sediment yield in the upper Yangze basin. Itcovers only 9.27% of the total area of the basin but supplies about 40% of the total sediment recordedat the Yichang Hydrological Station. The present study shows that besides strong slope erosion andwaste discharge from engineering works, debris-flow transport is an important source of the sedimentload in the river. 3Distribution of Microelements and Their Influence on the Corrosion Behavior of Aluminum Foil显示文摘The distribution of microelement Fe, Si, Cu and Mg in the surface layer of aluminum foil annealed at 300℃ and 500℃ were determined by secondary ion mass spectrometer. The corrosion structure produced by electrochemical etching was also observed. It was found that the Mg concentration at external surface was increased exponentially over the fourth degree and promoted by higher annealing temperature, which will increase the number of corrosion pits inside the large grains, and therefore the specific capacity of the foils for electrolytic capacitors. 4Wettability and Bonding between Ni and Ti(C,N)with Multiple Carbide Additions显示文摘The wettability and bonding in Ni/Ti(C, N) systems with multiple carbide additions were studied by sessile drop technique and vacuum brazing technique, respectively. The phase characterizations of substrates and fracture surfaces were conducted by XRD. The microstructures at metal/ceramic interfaces and fracture surfaces were observed via SEM in back scattered mode and second electron mode, respectively. Furthermore, an X-ray energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS) attached to SEM was used to study the elements diffusion in interfacial regions. The results reveal that diffusion and dissolution mechanism controlled reactive wetting takes place in the system in high temperature wetting. Results also show that the contact angles decrease with multiple carbide additions, and the effect of multiple carbide additions is stronger than that of single additions. The contact angle reaches the lowest value in the lowest TiC content case. The enhancement of the wettability is due to alloying procedure during high temperature wetting when metallic atoms diffuse into Ni phase, which decreases the interfacial energy of Ni/Ti(C, N) systems. 5NUTRIENT LOAD ESTIMATION METHODS FOR RIVERS显示文摘Pollutant load estimation is essential for watershed management and water pollution control. For most watersheds, only sparse water quality measurements (e.g. monthly data) are available. The influence of input data on the accuracy of non-point source pollution load estimation is studied using the water quality and stream flow data from a small watershed in Hong Kong. Comparison and analysis of the results using 8 different methods show that the accuracy of stream-flow runoff is the single most important factor for the calculation of pollutant load. Based on the results, the stream flow correction coefficient is advanced to provide a more reliable load estimation. The improved method of pollutant load estimation can be easily applied in practice since the stream-flow runoff can be measured by hydrological station or estimated with various hydrological methods.Huai-en LI. 7Seismic response of tall building considering soil-pile-structure interaction显示文摘The seismic behavior of tall buildings can be greatly affected by non-linear soil-pile interaction during strongearthquakes. In this study a 20-storey building is examined as a typical structure supported on a pile foundation for differentconditions: (1) rigid base, i.e. no deformation in the foundation: (2) linear soil-pile system; and (3) nonlinear soil-pile system.The effects of pile foundation displacements on the behavior of tall building are investigated, and compared with the behavior ofbuildings supported on shallow foundation. With a model of non-reflective boundary between the near field and far field,Novak's method of soil-pile interaction is improved. The computation method for vibration of pile foundations and DYNANcomputer program are introduced comprehensively.
