1An intelligent coastline interpretation of several types of seacoasts from TM/ETM+ images based on rules显示文摘A coastline is defined as the average spring tide line. Different types of seacoast, such as sandy, silty, and biological coast, have different indicators of interpretation. It is very difficult to develop a universal method for interpreting all shorelines. Therefore, the sandy, the silty, and the biological coast are regarded as research objects, and with data mining technology, found the rules of interpretation of those three types of coastlines. Then, an intelligent coastline interpretation method based on rules was proposed. Firstly, the rules for extracting the waterline in Landsat TM/ETM+(Thematic Mapper/Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus) imagery were discovered. Then, through analyzing the features of sandy, silty and biological coast, the indicators of interpreting different types of shoreline were determined. According to the indicators, the waterline could be corrected to the real coastline. In order to verify the validity of the proposed algorithms, three Landsat TM/ETM+ imageries were selected for case studies. 3A High Order Control Volume Finite Element Method for Transient Heat Conduction Analysis of Multilayer Functionally Graded Materials with Mixed Grids显示文摘This paper describes a new two-dimensional(2-D)control volume finite element method(CV-FEM)for transient heat conduction in multilayer functionally graded materials(FGMs).To deal with the mixed-grid problem,9-node quadrilateral grids and 6-node triangular grids are used.The unknown temperature and material properties are stored at the node.By using quadratic triangular grids and quadratic quadrilateral grids,the present method offers greater geometric flexibility and the potential for higher accuracy than the linear CV-FEM.The properties of the FGMs are described by exponential,quadratic and trigonometric grading functions.Some numerical tests are studied to demonstrate the performance of the developed method.First,the present CV-FEM with mixed high-order girds provides a higher accuracy than the linear CV-FEM based on the same grid size.Second,the material properties defined location is proved to have a significant effect on the accuracy of the numerical results.Third,the present method provides better numerical solutions than the conventional FEM for the FGMs in conjunction with course high-order grids.Finally,the present method is also capable of analysis of transient heat conduction in multilayer FGM.LIU Qi MING Pingjian ZHAO Haiyang ZHANG Wenping 2020Journal of Thermal Science2020,29,1:2

14A new automatic oceanic mesoscale eddy detection method using satellite altimeter data based on density clustering显示文摘The mesoscale eddy is a typical mesoscale oceanic phenomenon that transfers ocean energy. The detection and extraction of mesoscale eddies is an important aspect of physical oceanography, and automatic mesoscale eddy detection algorithms are the most fundamental tools for detecting and analyzing mesoscale eddies. The main data used in mesoscale eddy detection are sea level anomaly(SLA) data merged by multi-satellite altimeters' data.These data objectively describe the state of the sea surface height. The mesoscale eddy can be represented by a local equivalent region surrounded by an SLA closed contour, and the detection process requires the extraction of a stable closed contour structure from SLA maps. In consideration of the characteristics of mesoscale eddy detection based on SLA data, this paper proposes a new automatic mesoscale eddy detection algorithm based on clustering. The mesoscale eddy structure can be extracted by separating and filtering SLA data sets to separate a mesoscale eddy region and non-eddy region and then establishing relationships among eddy regions and mapping them on SLA maps. This paper overcomes the problem of the sensitivity of parameter setting that affects the traditional detection algorithm and does not require a sensitivity test. The proposed algorithm is thus more adaptable. An eddy discrimination mechanism is added to the algorithm to ensure the stability of the detected eddy structure and to improve the detection accuracy. On this basis, the paper selects the Northwest Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea to carry out a mesoscale eddy detection experiment. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is more efficient than the traditional algorithm and the results of the algorithm remain stable. 19NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF STRESS WAVE PROPAGATION WITH UNSTRUCTURED FINITE VOLUME TIME DOMAIN METHOD显示文摘An unstructured finite volume time domain method (UFVTDM) is proposed to simulate stress wave propagation. The original variables of displacement and stress are solved based on the dynamic equilibrium equations. An Euler explicit and unstructured finite volume method is used for time and spacial terms respectively. The displacements are stored on the cell vertex and a vertex based finite volume is formed with the integral surface and the stress is assumed as uniform in the cell. This is some similar with the stager grid method in computational fluid dynamics.
