1An efficient VLSI architecture of speeded-up robust feature extraction for high resolution and high frame rate video显示文摘This paper proposes a VLSI architecture of the optimized Speeded-Up Robust Feature (SURF) algorithm. The SURF algorithm which is widely used in computer vision applications, locates interest points (IPoints) and extracts feature descriptors based on the surrounding gradients. In the proposed approach, the SURF algorithm is modified to make it more suitable for hardware implementation with little accuracy lost compared to OpenSURF, an open source software implementation based on OpenCV. The resource cost and throughput gain are balanced. Word Length Reduction (WLR) is adopted to compress the integral image and reduce the occupied memory resources. The orientations and the feature descriptors of the IPoints are calculated in a more efficient way, which significantly reduces memory accesses. Moreover, the operations are pipelined both in and among the proposed hardware modules. This VLSI architecture has been validated on FPGA (Xilinx Virtex-4 XC4VLX80), which is able to detect IPoints and extract SURF feature descriptors in a VGA (640 × 480) 64 fps video input with a 96 MHz working frequency while dissipating 1.278 W. 3Anisotropic in-plane thermal conductivity for multi-layer WTe_(2)显示文摘Improving thermal transport between substrate and transistors has become a vital solution to the thermal challenge in nanoelectronics.Recently 2D WTe_(2) has sparked extensive interest because of heavy atomic mass and low Debye temperature.Here,the thermal transport of supported WTe_(2) was studied via Raman thermometry with electrical heating.The supported 30 nm WTe2 encased with 70 nm Al_(2)O_(3) delivered 4.8 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)in-plane thermal conductivity along zigzag direction at room temperature,which was almost 1.6 times larger than that along armchair direction(3.0 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)).Interestingly,the superior and inferior directions for thermal transport are just opposite of those for electrical transport.Hence,a heat manipulation model in WTe_(2) FET device was proposed.Within the designed configuration,waste heat in WTe_(2) would be mostly dissipated to metal contacts located along zigzag,relieving the local temperature discrepancy in the channel effectively and preventing degradation or breakdown.Our study provides new insight into thermal transport of anisotropic 2D materials,which might inspire energy-efficient nanodevices in the future.Yuehua Wei Chuyun Deng Xiaoming Zheng Yangbo Chen Xiangzhe Zhang Wei Luo Yi Zhang Gang Peng Jinxin Liu Han Huang Weiwei Cai Qi Ge Renyan Zhang Xueao Zhang Shiqiao Qin 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:1
4Enhancement of MoTe2 near-infrared absorption with gold hollow nanorods for photodetection显示文摘Infrared(IR)light photodetection based on two dimensional(2D)materials of proper bandgap has attracted increasing attention.However,the weak IR absorption in 2D materials,due to their ultrathin attribute and indirect bandgap in multilayer structures,degrades their performance when used as IR photodetectors.In this work,we utilize the fact that few-layer MoTe2 flake has a near-IR(NIR)bandgap and demonstrate a^60-fold enhancement of NIR response by introducing a gold hollow nanorods on the surface.Such gold hollow nanorods have distinct absorption peak located also at the NIR regime,therefore induces strong resonance,benefitting NIR absorption in MoTe2,resulting in strong near-field enhancement.With the evidence from steady and transient state optical spectra,we confirm that the enhancement of NIR response originates only photon absorption,rather than electron transport at interfaces as observed in other heterostructures,therefore,precluding the requirement of high-quality interfaces for commercial applications.Jiawen You Ye Yu Kai Cai Dongming Zhou Haiming Zhu Renyan Wang Qingfu Zhang Hongwei Liu Yuting Cai Dong Lu Jang-Kyo Kim Lin Gan Tianyou Zhai Zhengtang Luo 2020Nano Research2020,13,6:1

6Optimization of speeded-up robust feature algorithm for hardware implementation显示文摘Speeded-Up Robust Feature(SURF)is a widely-used robust local gradient feature detection and description algorithm.The algorithm itself can be implemented easily on general-purpose processors.However,the software implementation of SURF cannot achieve a performance high enough to meet the practical real-time requirements.And what is more,the huge data storage and the floating point operation of SURF algorithm make it hard and onerous to design and verify corresponding hardware implementation.This paper customized a SURF algorithm for hardware implementation,which combined several optimization methods in previous literature and three approaches(named Word Length Reduction(WLR),Low Bits Abandon(LBA),and Sampling Radius Reduction(SRR)).The computation operations of the simplified and optimized SURF(P-SURF)were reduced by 50%compared with the original SURF.At the same time,the Recall and Precision of the SURF feature descriptor are only dropped by 0.31 on average in the typical testing set,which are within an acceptable accuracy range.P-SURF has been implemented on hardware using TSMC 65 nm process,and the architecture of the whole system mainly contains four modules,including Integral Image Generator,IPoint Detector,IPoint Orientation Assigner,and IPoint Feature Vector Extractor.The chip size is 3.4×4 mm2.The power usage is less than 220mW according to the Synopsys Prime time while extracting IPoints in a video input of VGA(640×480)172 fps operating at 200 MHz.The performance is better than the results reported in literature.CAI ShanShan LIU LeiBo YIN ShouYi ZHOU RenYan ZHANG WeiLong WEI ShaoJun 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,4:1

9Microglial NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated neuroinflammation and therapeutic strategies in depression显示文摘Previous studies have demonstrated a bidirectional relationship between inflammation and depression.Activation of the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain,leucine-rich repeat,and NLR family pyrin domain-containing 3(NLRP3)inflammasomes is closely related to the pathogenesis of various neurological diseases.In patients with major depressive disorder,NLRP3 inflammasome levels are significantly elevated.Understanding the role that NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated neuroinflammation plays in the pathogenesis of depression may be beneficial for future therapeutic strategies.In this review,we aimed to elucidate the mechanisms that lead to the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome in depression as well as to provide insight into therapeutic strategies that target the NLRP3 inflammasome.Moreover,we outlined various therapeutic strategies that target the NLRP3 inflammasome,including NLRP3 inflammatory pathway inhibitors,natural compounds,and other therapeutic compounds that have been shown to be effective in treating depression.Additionally,we summarized the application of NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitors in clinical trials related to depression.Currently,there is a scarcity of clinical trials dedicated to investigating the applications of NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitors in depression treatment.The modulation of NLRP3 inflammasomes in microglia holds promise for the management of depression.Further investigations are necessary to ascertain the efficacy and safety of these therapeutic approaches as potential novel antidepressant treatments.Qiuqin Han Wenhui Li Peiqing Chen Lijuan Wang Xiwen Bao Renyan Huang Guobin Liu Xiaorong Chen 2024Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,9:0
10Comparison of short-term toxicity of 14 common phycotoxins(alone and in combination)to the survival of brine shrimp Artemia salina显示文摘Toxic harmful algal blooms(HABs)can cause deleterious effects in marine organisms,threatening the stability of marine ecosystems.It is well known that different strains,natural populations and growth conditions of the same toxic algal species may lead to different amount of phycotoxin production and the ensuing toxicity.To fully assess the ecological risk of toxic HABs,it is of great importance to investigate the toxic effects of phycotoxins in marine organisms.In this study,the short-term toxicity of 14 common phycotoxins(alone and in combination)in the marine zooplankton Artemia salina was investigated.The 48 h LC_(50)of the 14 phycotoxins varied from 0.0193µg/mL to 2.415µg/mL.The most potent phycotoxin was azaspiracids-3(AZA3;with a LC_(50)of 0.0193µg/mL),followed by azaspiracids-2(AZA2;0.0226µg/mL),pectenotoxin-2(PTX2;0.0460µg/mL)and dinophysistoxin-1(DTX1;0.0818µg/mL).For the binary exposure,okadaic acid(OA)induced potential additive effects with DTX1,probably due to their similar structure(polyether fatty acid)and mode of action(attacking the serine/threonine phosphoprotein phosphatases).On the other hand,OA showed potential antagonistic effects with PTX2,which might be accounted for by their activation on the detoxification activity of cytochrome P450 activity.In addition,DTX1 induced potential synergetic effects with saxitoxin(STX),yessotoxin(YTX)or PTX2,suggesting the hazard potency of the mixtures of DTX1 and other phycotoxins(like STX,YTX and PTX2)with regard to the ecological risk.These results provide valuable toxicological data for assessing the impact of phycotoxins on marine planktonic species and highlight the potential ecological risk of toxic HABs in marine ecosystems.Yuting Zhang Shanshan Song Bin Zhang Yang Zhang Miao Tian Ziyi Wu Huorong Chen Guangmao Ding Renyan Liu Jingli Mu 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,2:0
11The regulatory subunits of PI3K, p85α and p85β, differentially affect BRD7-mediated regulation of insulin signaling显示文摘Bromodomain-containing protein 7 (BRD7) has been shown to interact with the regulatory subunit of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K), p85, in the insulin signaling pathway. Here, we show that upregulation of hepatic BRD7 improves glucose homeostasiseven in the absence of either p85 isoform, p85a or p85b. However, BRD7 leads to differential activation of downstream effectorproteins in the insulin signaling pathway depending on which isoform of p85 is present. In the presence of only p85a, BRD7 overexpression increases phosphorylation of insulin receptor (IR) upon insulin stimulation, without increasing the recruitment of p85to IR substrate. Overexpression of BRD7 also increases activation of Akt in response to insulin, but does not affect basal phosphorylation levels of Akt. Meanwhile, the phosphorylation of glycogen synthase kinase 3b (GSK3b) is increased by overexpression ofBRD7. On the other hand, in the presence of only p85b, BRD7 overexpression does not affect phosphorylation levels of IR, and Aktphosphorylation is not affected by insulin stimulation following BRD7 upregulation. However, BRD7 overexpression leads to increased basal phosphorylation levels of Akt and GSK3b. 12Multisphere Tectonics of the Earth System显示文摘The fundamental theoretical framework of the Multisphere Tectonics of the Earth System is as follows:(1)It intends to extend the geotectonic studies from the crustal and lithospheric tectonics to the multisphere tectonics of the Ear th system as a whole.(2)The global dynamics driven by both the Earth system and the cosmic celestial system:solar energy,multispheric interactions of the Earth system and the combined effects of the motions of celestial bodies in the cosmos syste m are the driving forces of various geological processes.(3)The Continent-Ocean transformation theory:the continent and ocean are two opposite yet unified geological units,which can be transformed into each other;neither continent nor ocean wi ll survive forever;there is no one-way development of continental accretion or ocean extinction;the simple theory of one-way continental accretion is regarded as invalid.(4)The continental crust and mantle are characterized by multiple layers,with different layers liable to slide along the interfaces between them,but corroboration is needed that continents move as a who le or even drift freely.(5)The cyclic evolution theory:the development of Earth’s tectonics is not a uniform change,but a spiral forward evolution,characterized by a combination of non-uniform,non-linear,gradual and catastrophic changes;different evolutionary stages(tectonic cycles)of Earth have distinctive global tectonic patterns and characteristics,one tectonic mo del should not be applied to different tectonic cycles or evolutionary stages.(6)The structure and evolution of Earth are asymmetric and heterogeneous,thus one tectonic model cannot be applied to different areas of the world.(7)The polycyclic evolution of the continental crust:the continental crust is formed by polycyclic tectonics and magmatism,rather than simply lateral or vertical accretion.(8)The role of deep faults:the deep fault zones cutting through different layers of the crus t a nd mantle usually play important roles in tectonic evolution.For example,the present-day mid-ocean ridge fault zones,transform fault zones and Benioff zones outline the global tectonic framework.Different tectonic cycles and stages of Earth’s evolutio n must have their own distinctive deep fault systems which control the global tectonic framework and evolutionary processes during different tectonic cycles and stages.Starting from the two mantle superplumes Jason(Pacific)and Tuzo(Africa),the study of the evolutionary process of the composition and structure of the crust and mantle during the great transformation an d reorganization of the Meso-Cenozoic tectonic framework in China and the other regions of Asia is a good demonstration of theory of Multisphere Tectonics of the Earth System.REN Jishun NIU Baogui XU Qinqin ZHAO Lei LIU Jianhui LI Shan ZHU Junbin LIU Renyan 2022Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2022,96,3:0
