| 1 | Antimicrobial potential of Actinomycetes species isolated from marine environment显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the antimicrobial activity of Actinomycetes species isolated from marine environment.Methods:Twenty one strains of Actinomyceteswere isolated from samples of Royapuram, Muttukadu, Mahabalipuram sea shores and Adyar estuary. Preliminary screening was done using cross-streak method against two gram-positive and eight gram-negative bacteria.The most potent strains C11 and C12 were selected from which antibacterial substances were extracted. The antibacterial activities of the extracts were performed using Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. Molecular identification of those isolates was done.Results:All those twenty one isolates were active against at least one of the test organisms. Morphological characters were recorded. C11 showed activity againstStaphylococcusspecies(13.0暲0.5 mm),Vibrio harveyi(11.0暲0.2 mm),Pseudomonas species(12.0暲0.3 mm). C12 showed activity against Staphylococcus species(16.0暲0.4 mm),Bacillus subtilis(11.0暲0.2 mm),Vibrio harveyi(9.0暲0.1 mm),Pseudomonas species(10.0暲0.2 mm). 16S rRNA pattern strongly suggested that C11 and C12 strains were Streptomyces species.Conclusions:The results of the present investigation reveal that the marineActinomycetesfrom coastal environment are the potent source of novel antibiotics.Isolation, characterization and study of Actinom ycetescan be useful in discovery of novel species of Actinomy cetes. | Valli S Suvathi Sugasini S Aysha OS Nirmala P Vinoth Kumar P Reena A | 2012 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012，2，6： | 8 |
| 2 | Treatment of posterior urethral distractions defects following pelvic fracture显示文摘Posterior urethral injuries typically arise in the context of a pelvic fracture.Retrograde urethrography is the preferred diagnostic test in trauma patients with pelvic fracture where a posterior urethral rupture is suspected.Pelvic fractures however preclude the adequate positioning of the patient on the X-ray table on admission and computed tomography scan with intravenous contrast and delayed films generally performed first.Suprapubic bladder catheter placement under ultrasound guidance should be performed whenever a posterior urethral disruption is suspected.Early diagnosis and proper acute management decrease the associated complications,such as strictures,urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction.The correct and appropriate initial treatment of associated urethral rupture is critical to the proper healing of the injury.Placing of a suprapubic cystostomy on admission and delayed anastomotic urethroplasty after 3e6 months continues to be the gold standard of treatment.In this paper,we provide a comprehensive review of the literature with a special emphasis on the various treatments available:Open or endoscopic primary realignment,immediate or delayed urethroplasty after suprapubic cystostomy,and delayed optical urethrotomy. | Emilio Ríos Luís Martínez-Pineiro | 2018 | Asian Journal of Urology2018，5，3： | 4 |

| 5 | Current advances in using tolerogenic dendritic cells as a therapeutic alternative in the treatment of type 1 diabetes显示文摘Type 1 diabetes(T1D)is an autoimmune disease characterized by the destruction of insulin-producingβ-cells of the pancreatic islets by autoreactive T cells,leading to high blood glucose levels and severe long-term complications.The typical treatment indicated in T1D is exogenous insulin administration,which controls glucose levels;however,it does not stop the autoimmune process.Various strategies have been implemented aimed at stoppingβ-cell destruction,such as cellular therapy.Dendritic cells(DCs)as an alternative in cellular therapy have gained great interest for autoimmune disease therapy due to their plasticity to acquire immunoregulatory properties both in vivo and in vitro,performing functions such as anti-inflammatory cytokine secretion and suppression of autoreactive lymphocytes,which are dependent of their tolerogenic phenotype,displayed by features such as semimature phenotype,low surface expression of stimulatory molecules to prime T cells,as well as the elevated expression of inhibitory markers.DCs may be obtained and propagated easily in optimal amounts from peripheral blood or bone marrow precursors,such as monocytes or hematopoietic stem cells,respectively;therefore,various protocols have been established for tolerogenic(tol)DCs manufacturing for therapeutic research in the treatment of T1D.In this review,we address the current advances in the use of tolDCs for T1D therapy,encompassing protocols for their manufacturing,the data obtained from preclinical studies carried out,and the status of clinical research evaluating the safety,feasibility,and effectiveness of tolDCs. | William de Jesús Ríos-Ríos Sorely Adelina Sosa-Luis Honorio Torres-Aguilar | 2021 | World Journal of Diabetes2021，12，5： | 2 |
