1Significance of ichnofossils to genetic stratigraphy——Examples from the Cretaceous of Alberta, Canada显示文摘Trace fossils represent both sedimentological and paleontological entities, representing a unique blending of potential environmental indicators in the rock record. Trace fossils and trace fossil suites can be employed effectively to aid in the recognition of various discontinuity types and to assist in their genetic interpretation. Ichnology may be employed to resolve surfaces of strati-graphic significance in two main ways: 1) through the identification of discontinuities using substrate-controlled ichnofacies, and 2) through careful analysis of vertical softground (penecontem-poraneous) ichnologic successions (analogous to facies successions). Ichnological analysis is a valuable tool in genetic stratigraphic studies. Integrating the data derived from substrate-controlled ichnofacies with paleoecological data from vertical ichnologic successions greatly enhances the recognition and interpretation of a wide variety of stratigraphic surfaces. 4HARNESSING ECOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES AND PHYSIOLOGIC MECHANISMS IN DIVERSIFYING AGRICULTURAL SYSTEMS FOR SUSTAINABILITY:EXPERIENCE FROM STUDIES DEPLOYING NATUR-EBASED SOLUTIONS IN SCOTLAND显示文摘To achieve the triple challenge of food security,reversing biodiversity declines plus mitigating and adapting to climate change,there is a drive to embed ecological principles into agricultural,value-chain practices and decisionmaking.By diversifying cropping systems at several scales there is potential to decrease reliance on inputs,provide resilience to abiotic and biotic stress,enhance plant,microbe and animal biodiversity,and mitigate against climate change.In this review we highlight the research performed in Scotland over the past 5 years into the impact of the use of ecological principles in agriculture on sustainability,resilience and provision of ecosystem functions.We demonstrate that diversification of the system can enhance ecosystem functions.Soil and plant management interventions,including nature-based solutions,can also enhance soil quality and utilization of legacy nutrients.Additionally,this is facilitated by greater reliance on soil biological processes and trophic interactions.We highlight the example of intercropping with legumes to deliver sustainability through ecological principles and use legumes as an exemplar of the innovation.We conclude that there are many effective interventions that can be made to deliver resilient,sustainable,and diverse agroecosystems for crop and food production,and these may be applicable in any agroecosystem.Timothy S.GEORGE Cathy HAWES Tracy A.VALENTINE Alison J.KARLEY Pietro P.M.IANNETTA Robin W.BROOKER 2022Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2022,9,2:0

6SYNTHESIS AND MICROWAVE DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF Li_(2)MgSiO_(4)CERAMICS PREPARED USING CITRATE GEL ROUTE显示文摘The comparison of the low temperature sintering and the microwave dielectric properties of Li_(2)MgSiO_(4)(LMS)ceramics prepared by citrate gel(CG)route and solid state(SS)ceramic route are discussed in this paper.The LMS prepared using CG route sintered at 1175℃/2h hasε_(r)=5.3 and tanδ=1×10^(-3)at 9 GHz.The si ntering temperature of LMS is lowered to 950℃with the addition of 5 wt%lithium magnesium zinc borosilicate glass and hasε_(r)=5.6 and tanδ=2×10^(-3)at 9GHz.The amount of glass required to lower the sintering temperature of ceramics prepared using CG are slightly higher than that of Ss ceramic route.The LMS ceramics prepared using SS ceramic route shows excellent microwave dielectric properties with low sintering tem-perature compared to CG route.S.GEORGE V.K.SAJITH M.T.SEBASTIAN S.RAMAN P.MOHANAN 2011Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2011,1,2:0
