| 1 | 抱子甘蓝花培苗倍性的快速鉴定显示文摘采用花药培养获得加倍单倍体 (DH)是甘蓝类蔬菜自交不亲和系选育的主要方法之一 .然而 ,花药培养后代是倍性水平不同的混合群体 ,及早鉴定出真正的 DH具有重要的意义 .本文阐述 DNA流式细胞仪测定法和形态学鉴定法在花培苗倍性鉴定上的应用 ,并以抱子甘蓝的花培苗群体为材料 ,采用这两种方法鉴定其倍性组成 .结果表明 ,DNA流式细胞仪测定法可以鉴别群体的各种倍性水平 ,而形态学鉴别法可以把群体中的二倍体与单倍体、四倍体及其它倍体分开 .若以 DNA流式细胞仪测定法的鉴定结果为标准 ,苗期形态学鉴定的准确率可达 94.2 % .与 DNA流式细胞仪测定法相比 ,形态学鉴定方法具有更快速。 | 周元昌 S.KENNEDY | 2002 | 福建农林大学学报(自然科学版)2002,31,1: | 25 |
| 2 | Use of Sargassum fusiforme Extract and its Bioactive Molecules to inhibit HIV Infection: Bridging Two Paradigms between Eastern and Western Medicine显示文摘AIDS is a global pandemic that has seen the development of novel and effective treatments to improve the quality of life of those infected and reduction in the spread of the disease. While great advancements have been made in HIV/AIDS therapeutics, there is still no cure or viable vaccine in development. The high rate of HIV-1 mutation contributing to virus immune escape, combined with increase in sexual transmission and the significant clinical therapeutics side effects of the currently available treatments highlights the need for novel therapeutics with broad anti-viral activity against both CXCR4(X4) and CCR5(R5)-tropic viruses. In our search for novel modalities against HIV infection, we investigated several aqueous extracts from Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) collection and identified Sargassum fusiforme(S. fusiforme) as a potent inhibitor of HIV infection. Following the Western approach of drug discovery and development, we isolated several bioactive molecules from S. fusiforme and determined their mechanism of action. TCM and Western approaches to disease treatment and drug development have been shown to be complementary to each other. The former provides a rich medicinal history for natural compounds that can have clinical impact on a variety of illnesses, while the latter enables the application of chemical informatics with rational drug design approach coupled to mechanistic underpinnings of such therapeutics. | 6 | Land use and dingo baiting are correlated with the density of kangaroos in rangeland systems显示文摘Rangelands worldwide have been subject to broadscale modification,such as widespread predator control,intro-duction of permanent livestock water and altered vegetation to improve grazing.In Australia,these landscape changes have resulted in kangaroos(i.e.large macropods)populations increasing over the past 200 years.Kan-garoos are a key contributor to total grazing pressure and in conjunction with livestock and feral herbivores have been linked to land degradation.We used 22 years of aerial survey data to investigate whether the density of 3 macropod species in the southern rangelands of Western Australia was associated with:(i)land use,including type of livestock,total livestock,density of feral goats,type of land tenure,and kangaroo commercial harvest effort;(ii)predator management,including permitted dingo control effort,estimated dingo abundance,and presence of the State Barrier Fence(a dingo exclusion fence);and(iii)environmental variables:ruggedness,rainfall,fractional cover,and total standing dry matter.Red kangaroos(Osphranter rufus)were most abundant inflat,open vegetation,on pastoral land,where area permitted for dingo control was high,and numbers were positively associated with antecedent rainfall with a 12-month delay.Western grey kangaroos(Macropus fuliginosus)were most abundant onflat,agricultural land,but less abundant in areas with high permitted dingo control.Euros(Osphranter robustus)were most abundant in rugged pastoral land with open vegetation,where permitted dingo control was high.While environmental variables are key drivers of landscape productivity and kangaroo populations,anthropogenic factors such as land use and permitted dingo control are strongly associated with kangaroo abundance. | Stuart J.DAWSON Tracey L.KREPLINS Malcolm S.KENNEDY Juanita RENWICK Mark A.COWAN Patricia A.FLEMING | 2023 | Integrative Zoology2023,18,2: | 0 |
| 7 | Electronic behavior of native oxide films on Ti and TiN during 90-day immersion in electrolytes with different pH levels显示文摘This work presents the electronic behavior of Ti and TiN thin films when exposed to electrolytes with pH levels of 2,7 and 13 for 90 days.Staircase potentio-electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests were performed on the 100-nm Ti and TiN monolithic films,and MottSchottky analysis of these tests was used to determine the films’ semiconductive behavior and changes in the donor/acceptor density.In addition,the flat-band potential of each film’s surface oxide was also characterized.No attempt was made to control oxide formation,and therefore,these tests reflected the native surfaces of these films.While the TiN films exhibited n-type semiconductivity in all electrolytes,the Ti films only showed n-type behavior in the acidic(pH=2) and neutral(pH=7) electrolytes.The semiconductivity of the Ti films transitioned to p-type during exposure to the basic electrolyte(pH=13) after reaching 60 days.Furthermore,there was a significant increase in the donor densities for both Ti and TiN films when immersed in the basic electrolyte relative to the acidic and neutral electrolytes. | Amir Poursaee Golnaz Najaf-Tomaraei Marian S.Kennedy | 2021 | Rare Metals2021,40,3: | 0 |
