1Gut dysfunction in Parkinson's disease显示文摘Early involvement of gut is observed in Parkinson's disease(PD) and symptoms such as constipation may precede motor symptoms. α-Synuclein pathology is extensively evident in the gut and appears to follow a rostrocaudal gradient. The gut may act as the starting point of PD pathology with spread toward the central nervous system. This spread of the synuclein pathology raises the possibility of prion-like propagation in PD pathogenesis. Recently, the role of gut microbiota in PD pathogenesis has received attention and some phenotypic correlation has also been shown. The extensive involvement of the gut in PD even in its early stages has led to the evaluation of enteric α-synuclein as a possible biomarker of early PD. The clinical manifestations of gastrointestinal dysfunction in PD include malnutrition, oral and dental disorders, sialorrhea, dysphagia, gastroparesis, constipation, and defecatory dysfunction. These conditions are quite distressing for the patients and require relevant investigations and adequate management. Treatment usually involves both pharmacological and nonpharmacological measures. One important aspect of gut dysfunction is its contribution to the clinical fluctuations in PD. Dysphagia and gastroparesis lead to inadequate absorption of oral anti-PD medications. These lead to response fluctuations, particularly delayed-on and no-on, and there is significant relationship between levodopa pharmacokinetics and gastric emptying in patients with PD. 2Meta-analyses on prevalence of selected Parkinson’s nonmotor symptoms before and after diagnosis显示文摘Background:Nonmotor symptoms are common among patients with Parkinson’s disease(PD)and some may precede disease diagnosis.Methods:We conducted a meta-analysis on the prevalence of selected nonmotor symptoms before and after PD diagnosis,using random-effect models.We searched PubMed(1965 through October/November 2012)for the following symptoms:hyposmia,constipation,rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder,excessive daytime sleepiness,depression,and anxiety.Eligible studies were publications in English with original data on one or more of these symptoms.Results:The search generated 2,373 non-duplicated publications and 332 met the inclusion criteria,mostly(n=320)on symptoms after PD diagnosis.For all symptoms,the prevalence was substantially higher in PD cases than in controls,each affecting over a third of the patients.Hyposmia was the most prevalent(75.5%in cases vs.19.1%in controls),followed by constipation(50%vs.17.7%),anxiety(39.9%vs.19.1%),rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder(37.0%vs.7.0%),depression(36.6%vs.14.9%),and excessive daytime sleepiness(33.9%vs.10.5%).We observed substantial heterogeneities across studies and meta-regression analyses suggested that several factors might have contributed to this.However,the prevalence estimates were fairly robust in several sensitivity analyses.Only 20 studies had data on any symptoms prior to PD diagnosis,but still the analyses revealed higher prevalence in future PD cases than in controls.Conclusion:These symptoms are common among PD patients both before and after diagnosis.Further studies are needed to understand the natural history of nonmotor symptoms in PD and their etiological and clinical implications.Honglei Chen Edward J Zhao Wen Zhang Yi Lu Rui Liu Xuemei Huang Anna J Ciesielski-Jones Michele A Justice Deborah S Cousins Shyamal Peddada 2015Translational Neurodegeneration2015,4,1:18
3Type I interferons promote the survival and proinflammatory properties of transitional B cells in systemic lupus erythematosus patients显示文摘A hallmark of systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is the breaking of B-cell tolerance with the generation of high-affinity autoantibodies;however,the antibody-independent features of the B-cell compartment in SLE are less understood.In this study,we performed an extensive examination of B-cell subsets and their proinflammatory properties in a Chinese cohort of new-onset SLE patients.We observed that SLE patients exhibited an increased frequency of transitional B cells compared with healthy donors and rheumatoid arthritis patients.Plasma from SLE patients potently promoted the survival of transitional B cells in a type I IFN-dependent manner,which can be recapitulated by direct IFN-αtreatment.Furthermore,the effect of IFN-αon enhanced survival of transitional B cells was associated with NF-κB pathway activation and reduced expression of the pro-apoptotic molecule Bax.Transitional B cells from SLE patients harbored a higher capacity to produce proinflammatory cytokine IL-6,which was also linked to the overactivated type I IFN pathway.In addition,the frequency of IL-6-producing transitional B cells was positively correlated with disease activity in SLE patients,and these cells were significantly reduced after short-term standard therapies.Thus,the current study provides a direct link between type I IFN pathway overactivation and the abnormally high frequency and proinflammatory properties of transitional B cells in active SLE patients,which contributes to the understanding of the roles of type I IFNs and B cells in the pathogenesis of SLE.Mei Liu Qiang Guo Chunmei Wu Delphine Sterlin Shyamal Goswami Ying Zhang Teng Li Chunde Bao Nan Shen Qiong Fu Xiaoming Zhang 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,4:9
4肝细胞癌组织ICOS^+T细胞的多重免疫组织化学检测及其预后价值研究显示文摘背景与目的:诱导共刺激分子(inducible costimulator,ICOS)属于B7-CD28免疫球蛋白超家族成员,表达于活化T细胞表面,在T细胞的激活和免疫应答中发挥重要作用;但目前对于ICOS及ICOS^+T细胞在肝细胞癌(hepatocellular carcinoma,HCC)肿瘤组织中的表达及其意义尚不清楚。该研究旨在测定ICOS、ICOS^+T细胞在HCC患者肿瘤组织中的表达情况并探讨其预后价值。方法:应用组织芯片(tissue microarrays,TMAs)和多重免疫组织化学技术(multiplex immunohistochemistry,mIHC)检测2006-2007年在复旦大学附属中山医院接受手术治疗的358例原发性HCC患者肿瘤组织和癌旁组织中ICOS^+细胞、ICOS^+CD4^+及ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞的浸润密度和ICOS^+细胞占CD4^+、CD8^+T细胞的百分比。应用KaplanMeier法和多因素COX回归模型分析上述指标对患者预后的影响。结果:与癌旁组织相比,ICOS^+细胞和ICOS^+CD4^+T细胞在肿瘤组织中浸润数量显著增加(P<0.000 1和P=0.009 1),而ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞则呈相反的降低趋势(P=0.033);在肿瘤中,ICOS^+CD4^+T细胞的浸润程度显著高于ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞。此外,ICOS^+CD4^+和ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞占各自T细胞亚群的百分比在肿瘤组织中均显著增加(P均<0.000 1)。预后分析发现,肿瘤组织中ICOS^+细胞、ICOS^+CD4^+及ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞浸润高的患者总生存期(overall survival,OS)更长,多因素分析证实上述指标是HCC的独立预后良好因素。结论:ICOS在HCC患者的肿瘤组织中高表达,且ICOS^+细胞、ICOS^+CD4^+及ICOS^+CD8^+T细胞是OS的独立预后良好因素,提示上述指标可作为新的HCC预后免疫标志物。马家强 曹春梅 Shyamal Goswami 陈沁 高强 张晓明 2019中国癌症杂志2019,29,5:5
5Multi-item EPQ model with learning effect on imperfect production over fuzzy-random planning horizon显示文摘Uncertainty is certain in the world of uncertainty.This study revisits an economic production quantity(EPQ)model with shortages for stock-dependent demand of the items with reworking and disposing of the imperfect ones over a random planning horizon under the joint effect of inflation and time value of money,where the expected time length is imprecise in nature.Transmission of learning effect has been incorporated to reduce the defective production.The total expected profit over the random planning horizon is maximized subject to the imprecise space constraint.The possibility,necessity and credibility measures have been introduced to defuzzify the model.The simulation-based genetic algorithm is used to make decision for the above EPQ model in different measures of uncertainty.The model is illustrated through an example.Sensitivity analysis shows the impacts of different parameters on the objective function in the model.Amalesh Kumar Manna Barun Das Jayanta Kumar Dey Shyamal Kumar Mondal 2017Journal of Management Analytics2017,4,1:5
6An inventory model under development cost-dependent imperfect production and reliability-dependent demand显示文摘This paper considers a model that deals with an imperfect production process where both perfect and imperfect quality items are produced.Here,demand depends on selling price and reliability of the product.Each manufacturing company expects to produce perfect quality items.But due to the long-run process,several kinds of problem such as labor,machinery,and technology arise.As a result,the manufacturing system becomes out-of-control state and consequently produces both perfect and imperfect quality items.Perfect items are ready to sell but imperfect items are reworked at a cost to become perfect.Reworking cost,reliability of the product and reliability parameter of the manufacturing system can be improved by introducing the development cost and also by improving the quality of the raw material of the production system.Under such circumstances,a profit function has been developed to find the optimum values of reliability parameter of the manufacturing system,reliability of the product and duration of production such that a manufacturer gets a maximum profit.Finally,the model has been illustrated with some numerical examples exploring the sensitivity analysis with respect to some parameters.Barun Khara Jayanta Kumar Dey Shyamal Kumar Mondal 2017Journal of Management Analytics2017,4,3:4

12Shifting cultivation effects on creek water quality around Barkal Upazila in Chittagong Hill Tracts,Bangladesh显示文摘We report the effects of shifting cultivation on water quality in 16 creeks investigated once in 2007 and twice in 2008 in 16 apparently similar small neighboring watersheds,each of 3 to 5 ha,at four locations around Barkal sub-district under Rangamati District of Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh.Concentrations of SO 4 2and K +,and pH in creek water were lower,and NO 3-N and Na + concentrations were higher in shifting-cultivation land compared to land with either plantation or natural forest or a combination of these cover types.Shifting cultivation effects on some water quality parameters were not significant due to change in land cover of the watershed between two sampling periods either through introduction of planted tree species or naturally regenerated vegetation.Conductivity and concentrations of HCO 3,PO 4 3,Ca 2+ and Mg 2+ in creek water showed no definite trend between shifting cultivation and the other land cover types.At one area near the Forest Range Office of Barkal,creek water pH was 5.8 under land cover with a combination of shifting cultivation and plantation.At this area Na + concentration in shifting-cultivation land ranged from 32.33 to 33.00 mg L-1 and in vegetated area from 25.00 to 30.50 mg L-1 in 2007.At another area,Chaliatali Chara,SO 4 2concentration in a shifting-cultivation watershed ranged from 4.46 to 10.51 mg L-1,lower than in a vegetated watershed that ranged from 11.69 to 19.98 mg L-1 in 2007.SO 4 2concentration in this shifting-cultivation area ranged from 1.28 to 1.37 mg L-1 and in the vegetated area from 1.37 to 3.50 mg L-1 in 2008.Shyamal Karmakar S.M.Sirajul Haque M.Mozaffar Hossain Sohag Miah 2012Journal of Forestry Research2012,23,4:1
