| 3 | Development of ^(18)F-labeled radiotracers for neuroreceptor imaging with positron emission tomography显示文摘Positron emission tomography(PET)is an in vivo molecular imaging tool which is widely used in nuclear medicine for early diagnosis and treatment follow-up of many brain diseases.PET uses biomolecules as probes which are labeled with radionuclides of short half-lives,synthesized prior to the imaging studies.These probes are called radiotracers.Fluorine-18 is a radionuclide routinely used in the radiolabeling of neuroreceptor ligands for PET because of its favorable half-life of 109.8 min.The delivery of such radiotracers into the brain provides images of transport,metabolic,and neurotransmission processes on the molecular level.After a short introduction into the principles of PET,this review mainly focuses on the strategy of radiotracer development bridging from basic science to biomedical application.Successful radiotracer design as described here provides molecular probes which not only are useful for imaging of human brain diseases,but also allow molecular neuroreceptor imaging studies in various small-animal models of disease,including geneticallyengineered animals.Furthermore,they provide a powerful tool for in vivo pharmacology during the process of pre-clinical drug development to identify new drug targets,to investigate pathophysiology,to discover potential drug candidates,and to evaluate the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs in vivo. | Peter Brust Jrg van den Hoff Jrg Steinbach | 2014 | Neuroscience Bulletin2014,30,5: | 3 |
| 4 | Modeling Human Blockers in Millimeter Wave Radio Links显示文摘In this paper, we investigate the loss caused by multiple humans blocking millimeter wave frequencies. We model human blockers as absorbing screens of infinite height with two knife-edges. We take a physical optics approach to computing the diffraction around the absorbing screens. This approach differs to the geometric optics approach described in much of the literature. The blocking model is validated by measuring the gain from multiple-human blocking configurations on an indoor link. The blocking gains predicted using Piazzi's numerical integration method (a physical optics method) agree well with measurements taken from approximately 2.7 dB to -50 dB. Thereofre, this model is suitable for real human blockers. The mean prediction error for the method is approximately -1.2 dB, and the standard deviation is approximately 5 dB. | Jonathan S. | 5 | Partial anterior cruciate ligament tears treated with intraligamentary plasma rich in growth factors显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the effect of the application of plasma rich in growth factors(PRGF)-Endoret to the remaining intact bundle in partial anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)tears.METHODS:A retrospective review of the rate of return to play in football players treated with the application of PRGF-Endoret in the remaining intact bundle in partial ACL injuries that underwent surgery for knee instability.Patients with knee instability requiring revision surgery for remnant ACL were selected.PRGF was applied in the wider part of posterolateral bundle and the time it took patients to return to their full sporting activities at the same level before the injury was evaluated.RESULTS:A total of 19 patients were reviewed.Three had a Tegner activity level of 10 and the remaining 16level 9.The time between the injury and the time of surgery was 5.78 wk(SD 1.57).In total,81.75%(16/19)returned to the same pre-injury level of sport activity(Tegner 9-10).17 males and 2 females were treated.The rate of associated injury was 68.42%meniscal lesions and 26.31%cartilage lesions.The KT-1000 values were normalized in all operated cases.One patient was not able to return to sport due to the extent of their cartilage lesions.The 15 patients with Tegner activity level 9 returned to play at an average of 16.20 wk(SD1.44)while the 3 patients with Tegner activity level 10did so in 12.33 wk(SD 1.11).CONCLUSION:With one remaining intact bundle the application of PRGF-Endoret in instability cases due to partial ACL tear showed high return to sport rates at pre-injury level in professional football players. | Roberto Seijas Oscar Ares Xavier Cuscó Pedro lvarez Gilbert Steinbacher Ramón Cugat | 2014 | World Journal of Orthopedics2014,5,3: | 3 |

| 7 | Novel ^(99m)Tc labeled σ r eceptor ligand as a potential tumorimaging agent显示文摘A novel 99mTc labeled complex, [N-[2-((2-oxo-2-(4-(3-phenylpropyl)piperazin-1-yl)ethyl) (2-mercaptoethyl)amino)acetyl]-2-aminoethanethiolato]Technetium(V) oxide (PPPE-MAMA′-99mTcO) ([99mTc]-2) has been designed and prepared based on the integrated approach. The corresponding rhenium complex (PPPE-MAMA′-ReO)(Re-2) has been prepared and characterized. In vitro competi-tion binding assays show moderate affinity of Re-2 towards σ1 and σ2 receptors with Ki values of 8.67 ± 0.07 and 5.71 ± 1.88 μmol, respectively. Planar images obtained at 0.5 h, 4 h, 20 h after i.v. in-jection indicate the accumulation of [99mTc]-2 in MCF-7 human breast tumor bearing mice at 20 h. Furthermore, the accumulation of [99mTc]-2 has been inhibited at 20 h after co-injection of [99mTc]-2 plus haloperidol (1 mg/kg). Biodistribution studies of [99mTc]-2 display an in vivo tumor uptake of 0.14% ± 0.01% ID/g at 24 h post i.v. injection with a tumor/muscle ratio of 6.02 ± 0.87. The above results suggest that [99mTc]-2, derived from a previously published lead compound, retains certain tumor uptake and affinity for σ receptors.
