1Review on carbon storage estimation of forest ecosystem and applications in China显示文摘Background:The accuracy in estimating forest ecosystem carbon storage has drawn extensive attention of researchers in the field of global climate change.However,incomparable data sources and various estimation methods have led to significant differences in the estimation of forest carbon storage at large scales.Methods:In this study,we reviewed fundamental types of forest carbon storage estimation methods and their applications in China.Results:Results showed that the major forest carbon storage estimation methods were classified into 3 major categories and 15 subcategories focusing on vegetation carbon storage estimation,soil carbon storage estimation,and litter carbon storage estimation,respectively.The application in China showed that there have been 3 development stages of research in China since the 1990s.Studies of forest carbon storage estimation in province scales were conducted more frequently in the northeastern,eastern and southwestern provinces such as Zhejiang,Heilongjiang and Sichuan with high forest coverage or large forest area.Inventory-based methods,soil type method,and biomass model were the main forest estimation methods used in China,focusing on vegetation,soil and litter carbon storage estimation respectively.Total forest carbon storage of China was approximate 28.90 Pg C,and the average vegetation carbon density(42.04±5.39 Mg·ha?1)was much lower than that of the whole world(71.60 Mg·ha?1).Vegetation carbon density from average biomass method was the highest(57.07 Mg·ha?1)through comparing nine types of vegetation carbon storage estimation methods applied during 1989 to 1993.Conclusions:Many studies on forest carbon storages have been carried out in China at patch scales or regional scales.These efforts enabled the research of forest carbon storage to reach a relatively advanced stage.Meanwhile,the accumulation of massive research data provides the basis for subsequent research work.Some challenges are also existing.This review could provide a reference for more accurate estimation of forest carbon storage in the future.Wanlong Sun Xuehua Liu 2020Forest Ecosystems2020,7,1:12
2Nitrogen Biological Cycle Characteristics of Seepweed(Suaeda salsa) Wetland in Intertidal Zone of Huanghe(Yellow) River Estuary显示文摘From April 2008 to November 2009,the nitrogen(N) cycle of plantsoil system in seepweed(Suaeda salsa) wetland in the intertidal zone of the Huanghe(Yellow) River estuary was studied.Results showed that soil N had sig-nificant seasonal fluctuations and vertical distribution,and the net N mineralization rates in topsoil were significantly different in growing season(p < 0.01).The N/P ratio(9.87 ± 1.23) of S.salsa was less than 14,indicating that plant growth was limited by N.The N accumulated in S.salsa litter at all times during decomposition,which was ascribed to the N immobilization by microbes from the environment.Soil organic N was the main N stock of plant-soil system,accounting for 97.35% of the total N stock.The N absorption and utilization coefficients of S.salsa were very low(0.0145 and 0.3844,respectively),while the N cycle coefficient was high(0.7108).The results of the N turnovers among compartments of S.salsa wetland showed that the N uptake amount of aboveground part and root were 7.764 g/m2and 4.332 g/m2,respectively.The N translocation amounts from aboveground part to root and from root to soil were 3.881 g/m2 and 0.626 g/m2,respectively.The N translocation amount from aboveground living body to litter was 3.883 g/m2,the annual N return amount from litter to soil was more than 0.125(-) g/m2(minus represented immobilization),and the net N mineralization amount in topsoil(0-15 cm) in growing season was 1.190 g/m2.The assessment of N biological cycle status of S.salsa wetland indicated that N was a very important limiting factor and the ecosystem was situated in unstable and vulnerable status.The S.salsa was seemingly well adapted to the low-nutrient status and vulnerable habitat,and the N quantitative relationships determined in the compartment model might provide scientific base for us to reveal the special adaptive strategy of S.salsa to the vulnerable habitat in the following studies.SUN Zhigao MOU Xiaojie SUN Jingkuan SONG Hongli YU Xiang WANG Lingling JIANG Huanhuan SUN Wanlong SUN Wenguang 2012Chinese Geographical Science2012,22,1:9
3Three-dimensional conformal intensity-modulated radiation therapy of left femur foci does not damage the sciatic nerve显示文摘During radiotherapy to kill femoral hydatid tapeworms,the sciatic nerve surrounding the focus can be easily damaged by the treatment.Thus,it is very important to evaluate the effects of radiotherapy on the surrounding nervous tissue.In the present study,we used three-dimensional,conformal,intensity-modulated radiation therapy to treat bilateral femoral hydatid disease in Meriones meridiani.The focus of the hydatid disease on the left femur was subjected to radiotherapy(40 Gy) for 14 days,and the right femur received sham irradiation.Hematoxylin-eosin staining,electron microscopy,and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-d UTP nick end labeling assays on the left femurs showed that the left sciatic nerve cell structure was normal,with no obvious apoptosis after radiation.Trypan blue staining demonstrated that the overall protoscolex structure in bone parasitized with Echinococcus granulosus disappeared in the left femur of the animals after treatment.The mortality of the protoscolex was higher in the left side than in the right side.The succinate dehydrogenase activity in the protoscolex in bone parasitized with Echinococcus granulosus was lower in the left femur than in the right femur.These results suggest that three-dimensional conformal intensity-modulated radiation therapy achieves good therapeutic effects on the secondary bone in hydatid disease in Meriones meridiani without damaging the morphology or function of the sciatic nerve.Wanlong Xu Xibin Zhao Qing Wang Jungang Sun Jiangbo Xu Wenzheng Zhou Hao Wang Shigui Yan Hong Yuan 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,20:6
4SOME NEW RESULTS ON THE CONFIDENCELIMITS FOR RELIABILITY PARAMETERS IN THECASE OF NO FAILURES显示文摘In reliability tests, Type I censored data are common. For products of high quality, real life length is much longer than the censoring time. A group of items of some kind of product are put into reliability experiment. In case every item is censored,there is no failure. We refer to such data as No Failures. We construct lower confidence limits for life characteristics (such as average life, reliability, reliable span). 5Improving the Local Sheep in Gansu via Crossing with Introduced Sheep Breeds Dorset and Borderdale显示文摘In order to improve the meat performance of local sheep in Gansu Province,Dorset and Borderdale were introduced to crossbreed with local sheep which were Tan sheep,Small-tail Han sheep and Mongolia sheep. The offspring under different crossbreeding combinations were sampled randomly at the different growing stage to measure their growth traits so as to select optimize the crossbreeding mode. The results indicated that,for the same crossbreeding mode,the growth rate of progeny was in order F3> F2> F1; for the F3 progeny,the combinations Dorset- Borderdale- Small tail Han sheep and Dorset- Borderdale- Mongolia sheep gave a higher growth rate,with a body weight of 1. 57%,3. 17%,8. 23%,1. 15% higher in male and female individuals than the counterparts of Dorset and Tan sheep and Small tail Han sheep; for the F2 progeny,the combinations Dorset- Borderdale- Small tail Han sheep and Dorset- Borderdale- Mongolia sheep also gave a higher growth rate,with a body weight of 2. 15%,4. 53%,9. 21% and 2. 75% higher in male and female individuals than the counterparts of Dorset and Tan sheep and Small tail Han sheep; for the F1 progeny,the combination Borderdale and Small tail Han sheep assumed a higher growth rate,with a body weight of 3. 23%,6. 07%,7. 42% and 8. 66% higher in male and female individuals than the counterparts of Borderdale- Mongolia sheep and Tan sheep- Small tail Han sheep,respectively. Therefore,in the Small-tail Han sheep and Mongolia sheep producing regions,the F2 or F3progeny bred by using Dorset or Borderdale sheep as male parent to cross with local breeds,or the hybrid lambs of Small-tail Han sheep and Borderdale sheep as highly qualified commodity,would produce significant economic benefit. 6Dose escalation guided by^(18)F-FDG PET/CT for esophageal cancer显示文摘Objective:To assess the feasibility of dose escalation guided by ^(18)F-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computer tomography(^(18)F-FDG PET/CT)for esophageal cancer(EC).Methods and materials:Ten random patients treated with definitive chemoradiotherapy and pre-therapeutic ^(18)FFDG PET/CT were included in this study.Retrospectively,a threshold of 50%of SUVmax was used to define the high FDG uptake region of the GTV(GTVPET).Three intensity-modulated radiation therapy(IMRT)plans were generated,delivering three dose levels to three different planning target volumes(PTVs).50.4 Gy delivered to PTV50.4 was defined on computed tomography(CT)as Plan50.4,63 Gy was delivered to PTV63 was defined as GTV plus a uniform margin of 0.5 cm as Plan63,and 70 Gy delivered to PTV70 was defined as GTVPET plus a 0.5 cm margin as Plan70.A dosimetric comparison was performed based on normal tissue complication probability(NTCP)for the lung and heart.Results:Clinically acceptable dose escalation failed for 2 of 10 patients in Plan63 due to heart dose constraints.One patient failed heart dose constraint for Plan70.Two patients failed spinal cord constraint for Plan63.Three patients failed lung dose constraints for both Plan63 and Plan70,two of which were even not suitable for Plan50.4 for the same reason.NTCP modeling for lung showed increased risk for Plan63 and Plan70 compared to Plan50.4.The difference between Plan63 and Plan70 was insignificant.NTCP modeling for heart showed an increased risk from 6.38%of Plan50.4 to 8.88%of Plan70(P=0.009)or 9.79%of Plan63(P=0.007).The risk of heart mortality was significantly higher for Plan63 than Plan70(P=0.047).Conclusions:Selective boosting of sub-volumes based on ^(18)F-FDG PET/CT is feasible way with a modest increase in the risk of cardiac and lung toxicities.Bingjie Fan Chengqiang Li Fengchun Mu Wenru Qin Linlin Wang Xindong Sun Chunni Wang Bing Zou Shijiang Wang Wanlong Li Man Hu 2021Radiation Medicine and Protection2021,2,2:0
