1Use of two combination creams for the treatment of ichthyoses and ichthyosiform disorders显示文摘Treatment options for ichthyosis and ichthyosiform disorders are limited and often unsatisfactory.Twenty-four patients used combination creams of 2%cholesterol with 2%lovastatin,and 10%glycolic acid with 0.025% tretinoin and 2%ketoconazole daily.At one month(n=20),the average percent reduction in severity scores was 40%,and at three months(n=10),it was 60.3%.Side effects were mainly mild irritation.These findings suggest that these two combination creams could be beneficial in the treatment of ichthyosiform disorders.Samar Khalil Serena Saade Divina Justina Hasbani Carla Stephan Tara Bardawil Adele Chedraoui Ossama Abbas Nelly Rubeiz Mazen Kurban 2023Drug Combination Therapy2023,5,2:0
2Human Emotions Classification Using EEG via Audiovisual Stimuli and AI显示文摘Electroencephalogram(EEG)is a medical imaging technology that can measure the electrical activity of the scalp produced by the brain,measured and recorded chronologically the surface of the scalp from the brain.The recorded signals from the brain are rich with useful information.The inference of this useful information is a challenging task.This paper aims to process the EEG signals for the recognition of human emotions specifically happiness,anger,fear,sadness,and surprise in response to audiovisual stimuli.The EEG signals are recorded by placing neurosky mindwave headset on the subject’s scalp,in response to audiovisual stimuli for the mentioned emotions.Using a bandpass filter with a bandwidth of 1-100 Hz,recorded raw EEG signals are preprocessed.The preprocessed signals then further analyzed and twelve selected features in different domains are extracted.The Random forest(RF)and multilayer perceptron(MLP)algorithms are then used for the classification of the emotions through extracted features.The proposed audiovisual stimuli based EEG emotion classification system shows an average classification accuracy of 80%and 88%usingMLP and RF classifiers respectively on hybrid features for experimental signals of different subjects.The proposed model outperforms in terms of cost and accuracy.Abdullah A Asiri Akhtar Badshah Fazal Muhammad Hassan A Alshamrani Khalil Ullah Khalaf A Alshamrani Samar Alqhtani Muhammad Irfan Hanan Talal Halawani Khlood M Mehdar 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,12:0
3Cardiac stem cells: Current knowledge and future prospects显示文摘Regenerative medicine is the field concerned with the repair and restoration of the integrity of damaged human tissues as well as whole organs.Since the inception of the field several decades ago,regenerative medicine therapies,namely stem cells,have received significant attention in preclinical studies and clinical trials.Apart from their known potential for differentiation into the various body cells,stem cells enhance the organ's intrinsic regenerative capacity by altering its environment,whether by exogenous injection or introducing their products that modulate endogenous stem cell function and fate for the sake of regeneration.Recently,research in cardiology has highlighted the evidence for the existence of cardiac stem and progenitor cells(CSCs/CPCs).The global burden of cardiovascular diseases’morbidity and mortality has demanded an in-depth understanding of the biology of CSCs/CPCs aiming at improving the outcome for an innovative therapeutic strategy.This review will discuss the nature of each of the CSCs/CPCs,their environment,their interplay with other cells,and their metabolism.In addition,important issues are tackled concerning the potency of CSCs/CPCs in relation to their secretome for mediating the ability to influence other cells.Moreover,the review will throw the light on the clinical trials and the preclinical studies using CSCs/CPCs and combined therapy for cardiac regeneration.Finally,the novel role of nanotechnology in cardiac regeneration will be explored.Radwa A Mehanna Marwa M Essawy Mona A Barkat Ashraf K Awaad Eman H Thabet Heba A Hamed Hagar Elkafrawy Nehal A Khalil Abeer Sallam Marwa A Kholief Samar S Ibrahim Ghada M Mourad 2022World Journal of Stem Cells2022,14,1:0
