| 1 | Retinol binding protein 4 correlates with and is an early predictor of carotid atherosclerosis in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients显示文摘The association of retinol binding protein 4(RBP4) with atherosclerosis of the carotid artery in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) remains undefined.We aimed to investigate the correlation of RBP4 expression with atherosclerosis of the carotid artery in T2 DM.A total of 1,076 subjects were investigated for intima-media thickness of the bilateral common carotid arteries,and they were divided into three groups:in group Ⅰ,patients had normal neck vascular ultrasound,in group Ⅱ,intimal carotid artery media thickness was equal to or more than 1 mm,and in group Ⅲ,carotid artery plaque was present.Height,weight,blood pressure(BP),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),hemoglobin Alc(HbAlc),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),apolipoprotein A-l(apoA-1),apolipoprotein B(apoB) and lipoprotein(a)[Lp(a)]were determined by routine laboratory methods.RBP4 and high sensitivity C reactive protein(HsCRP) were measured by an enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay,and insulin concentration was measured by an electrochemiluminescence sandwich immunoassay.Duration of diabetes,waist and BP,FPG,HbAlc,TG,TC,LDL-C,APOB,Lp(a),HsCRP,RBP4 and homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR) were significantly lower in group I than in the other two groups(P<0.01,P<0.01).Plasma levels of HbAlc,RBP4,LDL-C,TC,HOMA-IR,HsCRP and Lp(a),waist and BP were significantly increased in group Ⅲ than in group Ⅱ(F<0.01),Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that there were seven factors associated with the occurrence of carotid artery atherosclerosis and its risks in descending order were:high LDL-C,high waist,high HsCRP,duration of diabetes,high HOMA-IR,HbAlc and high RBP4.Our finding supported that RBP4 was positively correlated with carotid atherosclerosis in patients with T2 DM and could be used as an early predictor of cardiovascular disease. | Shangyong Feng Yan Zhu Caifeng Yan Yan Wang Zhenweng Zhang | 2015 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2015，29，6： | 15 |
| 2 | Sodium fluorescence Doppler lidar to measure atmospheric temperature in the mesopause region显示文摘A sodium fluorescence Doppler lidar system has been developed to measure environmental parameters of the middle and upper atmosphere. The lidar system mainly comprises a transmitter system,receiver system,data acquisition and control system and data analysis system. A narrowband 589 nm laser is used to excite sodium atoms in the mesopause region. Excitation of the sodium atoms results in resonance fluorescence,which is collected by the receiver. The temperatures in the mesopause region(about 75-105 km) can be derived by analyzing the Doppler-broadened width of the sodium fluorescence. Observations were made with the lidar system,and the number density of sodium atoms and atmospheric temperature profiles were extracted from the observation data. | 4 | Purification and Characterization of a New Thermostable κ-CarrageenasefromtheMarineBacterium Pseudoalteromonas sp. QY203显示文摘A new extracellular κ-carrageenase, namely CgkP, 34.0 kDa in molecular weight, was purified from Pseudoalteromonas sp. QY203. CgkP showed relatively high activity at acidities ranging from pH6.0 to pH9.0 and temperatures ranging from 30℃ to 50℃ with the highest activity at 45℃ and pH7.2. Sodium chloride increased its activity markedly, and KCl increased its activity slightly. The divalent and trivalent metal ions including Cu2+ , Ni2+ , Zn2+ , Mn2+ , Al3+ and Fe3+ significantly inhibited its activity, while Mg2+ did not. CgkP remained 70% of original activity after being incubated at 40℃ for 48 h, and remained 80% of the activity after being incubated at 45℃ for 1 h. It exhibited endo-κ-carrageenase activity, mainly depolymerizing the κ-carrageenan into disaccharide and tetrasaccharide. | 5 | Cloning and Characterization of a New κ-Carrageenase Gene from Marine Bacterium Pseudoalteromonas sp. QY203显示文摘κ-carrageenan oligosaccharides exhibit various biological activities. Enzymatic degradation by κ-carrageenase is safe and controllable. Therefore, κ-carrageenases have captured more and more attentions. In this study, a κ-carrageenase encoding gene, cgk X, was cloned from Pseudoalteromonas sp. QY203 with degenerate and inverse PCR. It comprised an ORF of 1194 bp in length, encoding a protein with 397 amino acid residues. Cgk X is a new member of glycoside hydrolase family 16. The deduced amino acid sequence shared a high similarity with Cgk X of Pseudoalteromonas κ-carrageenase; however, the recombinant Cgk X showed different biochemical characteristics. The recombinant enzyme was most active at p H 7.0 and 55℃ in the presence of 300 mmol L^(^(-1))Na Cl. It was stable in a broad range of acidity ranging from p H 3.0 to p H 10.0 when temperature was below 40℃. More than 80% of its activity was maintained after being incubated at p H 3.6–10.0 and 4℃ for 24 h. Cgk X retained more than 90% of activity after being incubated at 40℃ for 1 h. EDTA and SDS(1 mmol L^(-1)) did not inhibit its activity. Cgk X hydrolyzed κ-carrageenan into disaccharide and tetrasaccharide as an endo-cleaver. | 7 | Image Filtering Based on Mathematical Morphology and Visual Perception Principle显示文摘The operation of a morphological filter can be divided into two basic problems that include morphological operation and Structuring element (SE) selection. The rules for morphological operations are predefined, so the filter's properties depend merely on the selection of SE. How to design adaptively the optimal morphological filter so as to automatically and delicately complete the tasks of target detection and recognition, becomes one of the current research hotspots and subtle technical problems. Based on the filtering theory of the mathematical morphology, by introducing appropriate visual perception principle, this paper presents how to design the filtering architecture and its target detection model through the optimal parameter training. By this way it can provide good detection results and robust adaptability to image targets with clutter background. | 8 | A New κ-Carrageenase Cgk S from Marine Bacterium Shewanella sp. Kz7显示文摘A new κ-carrageenase gene cgk S was cloned from marine bacterium Shewanella sp. Kz7 by using degenerate and site-finding PCR. The gene was comprised of an open reading frame of 1224 bp, encoding 407 amino acid residues, with a signal peptide of 24 residues. Based on the deduced amino acid sequence, the κ-carrageenase Cgk S was classified into the Glycoside Hydrolase family 16. The cgk S gene was expressed in Escherichia coli, and the recombinant enzyme was purified to homogeneity with a specific activity of 716.8 U mg-1 and a yield of 69%. Recombinant Cgk S was most active at 45℃ and p H 8.0. It was stable at p H 6.0–9.0 and below 30℃. The enzyme did not require Na Cl for activity, although its activity was enhanced by Na Cl. | 12 | Ammonia Volatilization from Soils Fertilized with Different Nitrogen Type and Application Method in Germination and Early Seedling Stages from the Radish Field显示文摘Ammonia volatilization(AV) from basal fertilizer with different nitrogen(N) types and application methods was investigated by the ventilation method in germination and early seedling stages during radish growth seasons in 2014. Four N fertilizer types, urea(U), ammonium bicarbonate(AB), ammonia sulfate(AS), and controlled urea formaldehyde(CUF) were applied through 5 cm depth placement(I) and 10 cm depth placement(II). The results showed that the N fertilizer type was the main factor that caused AV loss in germination and early seedling stages from the radish field. The highest and the lowest cumulative AV losses in germination and early seedling stages from the radish fields were 33.23 and 11.21 N kg/hm^2 for the treatments of AB+I and CUF+II, respectively, accounting for 60.40 and 26.40% of the N application for each treatment. The 10 cm deep placement of N reduced AV rates and lagged the AV process, and CUF significantly reduced ammonia volatilization. | 13 | Human exposure to a mixture of endocrine disruptors and serum levels of thyroid hormones:A cross-sectional study显示文摘Exposure to endocrine disruptors(EDCs) could disrupt thyroid hormone homeostasis. However, human epidemiological studies reported inconsistent observations, and scarce information on the effect of a mixture of chemicals. The aim of the present study was to examine the associations of multiple chemicals with thyroid hormones among adults from China. We measured serum levels of thyroid hormones and urinary levels of 11 EDCs, including six phthalate metabolites, bisphenol A(BPA), bisphenol F(BPF), bisphenol S(BPS), perchlorate, and thiocyanate among 177 healthy adults without occupational exposure. Associations of multiple urinary analytes with serum thyroid hormones were examined by performing general linear regression analysis and bayesian kernal machine regression analysis. These EDCs were detected in almost all samples. After adjusting for various covariates, we observed only BPF significantly associated with total thyroxin(TT4)(β=-0.27, 95% confidence interval(CI) [-0.41,-0.14]), total triiodothyronine(TT3)(β=-0.02 95% CI [-0.03,-0.01]), free T4(fT4)(β=-0.02, 95% CI [-0.03,-0.01]), and free T3(fT3)(β=-0.04, 95% CI [-0.07,-0.01]), and mono-(2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl) phthalate(MEOHP) and monoethyl phthalate(MEP) positively associated with TT4(β=0.24, 95% CI [0.01, 0.48]) and fT4(β=0.02, 95% CI [0.01, 0.04]), respectively. Moreover, we observed significant dose-response relationships between TT4 and the mixture of11 EDCs, and BPF was the main contributor to the mixture effect, suggesting the priority of potential effect of BPF on disrupting thyroid function under a real scenario of human exposure to multiple EDCs. | 15 | Identification and Analysis of Components of Glucosinolates in Succulent Roots and Leaves of Fruity Radish (Raphanus sativas L.)显示文摘The components of glucosinolates( GSL) in the succulent roots and leaves of three kinds of fruity radish( Xinlimei,Super Zhengyan,and Shawo) were identified and analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography( HPLC). Results showed that there were nine kinds of glucosinolates in the succulent roots and leaves of three kinds of fruity radish,including six kinds of aliphatic glucosinolates( 4-methyl sulfinyl-3-butenyl glucosinolates,2-allyl glucosinolates,4-methyl sulfinyl butyl glucosinolates,5-methyl sulfinyl amyl glucosinolates,4-methyl n-butyl glucosinolates,4-methyl thio-3-butenyl glucosinolates) and three kinds of indole glucosinolates( 4-methoxy methyl indole glucosinolates,3-methyl indole glucosinolates,1-methoxy methyl indole glucosinolates),but there were significant differences in the content of glucosinolates between different varieties and organs. The total content of glucosinolates in succulent roots of three kinds of fruity radish was22 472. 84,13 585. 86,and 28 200. 70 μg/g DM respectively,and more than 95% were aliphatic glucosinolates. The content of glucosinolates in succulent roots was 4. 56,2. 71,and 4. 55 times of that in leaves of three kinds of fruity radish. | 16 | FAST CONVERGENT MONTE CARLO RECEIVER FOR OFDM SYSTEMS显示文摘The paper investigates the problem of the design of an optimal Orthogonal Fre- quency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) receiver against unknown frequency selective fading. A fast convergent Monte Carlo receiver is proposed. In the proposed method, the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods are employed for the blind Bayesian detection without channel es- timation. Meanwhile, with the exploitation of the characteristics of OFDM systems, two methods are employed to improve the convergence rate and enhance the efficiency of MCMC algorithms. One is the integration of the posterior distribution function with respect to the associated channel parameters, which is involved in the derivation of the objective distribution function; the other is the intra-symbol differential coding for the elimination of the bimodality problem resulting from the presence of unknown fading channels. Moreover, no matrix inversion is needed with the use of the orthogonality property of OFDM modulation and hence the computational load is significantly reduced. Based on the analysis of a new signal model for asynchronous system, a novel multiuser detector for asynchronous CDMA system is proposed in this paper~ which is termed as DF-IC-MMSE (Decision ,feedback interference cancellation-MMSE) detector. It's the detection statistics that makes the DF-IC-MMSE-detector basically different from other traditional ones. The DF-IC-MMSE detector can be ideally implemented with Causal finite memory-length structure, and cause no delay in symbol detection.
