| 1 | Variations in silicate concentration affecting photosynthetic carbon fixation by spring phytoplankton assemblages in surface water of the Strait of Malacca显示文摘The Strait of Malacca (SoM), the world's busiest sea-route, is increasingly polluted as the rapid development of world trades, affecting phytoplankton primary productivity therein. The variations of surface phytoplankton biomass, size-structure and carbon fixation were investigated across the SoM during the spring period (May 4 to 9, 2011). Chlorophyll a concentration increased from 0.12 μg/L at the northwest entrance of the SoM to a maximal 0.63 μg/L at narrowest section, and decreased to 0.10 μg/L at the southeast entrance. Photosynthetic carbon fixation by phytoplankton coincided well with Chl a biomass, and increased from 10.8 to 22.3 μg C/(L d), then decreased to 9.21 μg C/(L d); while the carbon fixation rate showed an inverse pattern to the changes of Chl a, and decreased from 87.1 to 35.5 μg C/(μg Chl a d) and increased thereafter to 95.3 μg C/(μg Chla·d). Picophytoplankton cells (<3 μm) contributed to more than 60% and 50% of the total Chl a and carbon fixation at both the entry waters; while the contributions of pico-cells decreased sharply to the minimum of 18.3% and 27.5% at the narrowest part of the SoM. In particular, our results showed that the silicate concentration positively regulated Chl a biomass and carbon fixation, reflecting that the higher silicate favoured the growth of phytoplankton and thus led to higher primary production in this strait. | LI Gang LIN Qiang SHEN Pingping NI Guangyan SONG Xingyu WANG Shengfu FAN Yanzhi HUANG Liangmin TAN Yehui | 2013 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2013,32,4: | 4 |
| 2 | Identification of the candidate genes associated with cellular rejection in pig-to-human xenotransplantation显示文摘To identify the genes associated with cellular rejection in pig-to-human xenotransplantation, the suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) was used in screening the up-regulated genes from a co-culture of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and porcine vascular endothelial cell line PIEC. The up-regulated cDNAs were cloned into pGEM-T Easy vector and then sequenced. Nucleic acid homology searches were performed using the BLAST program. A subtracted cDNA library including about 300 clones with the expected up-regulated genes was obtained. Twenty-four of these clones were analyzed by sequencing and homology comparison was made. These clones represent the genes of human perforin (PRF1), proteasome, lymphocyte specific interferon regulatory factor/interferon regulatory factor 4 (LSIRF/IRF 4), muscleblind-like (MBNL) protein and a porcine expressed sequence tag (EST) which has 81% homology with human oxidative-stress responsive 1 (OSR 1). These genes might be the candidate genes which are associated with cellular rejection in pig-to-human xenotransplantation. | HU Weimin, CHENG Jingqiu, LI Youping , LI Shengfu, LU Xiaofeng and WAN Lin(Laboratory of Transplant Engineering and Immunology, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610041, China) | 2002 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2002,12,9: | 3 |
| 3 | Hydrogen generation from methanolysis of sodium borohydride over Co/Al_2O_3 catalyst显示文摘Co/Al2O3 catalyst is prepared with an impregnation-chemical reduction method and used to catalyze the methanolysis of sodium borohydride (NaBH 4) for hydrogen generation. At solution temperature of 0 C,the methanolysis reaction can be effectively accelerated using Co/Al2O3 catalyst and provide a desirable hydrogen generation rate, which makes it suitable for applications under the circumstance of low environmental temperature. The byproduct of methanolysis reaction is analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).The characterization results indicate that methanol can be easily recovered after methanolysis reaction by hydrolysis of the methanolysis byproduct,NaB(OCH 3) 4.The catalytic activity of Co/Al2O3 towards NaBH 4 methanolysis can be further improved by appropriate calcination treatment. The catalytic methanolysis kinetics and catalyst reusability are also studied over the Co/Al2O3 catalyst calcined at the optimized temperature. | Dongyan Xu Lin Zhao Ping Dai Shengfu Ji | 2012 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2012,21,5: | 3 |

| 6 | Seasonal Characteristics of Forecasting Uncertainties in Surface PM_(2.5)Concentration Associated with Forecast Lead Time over the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region显示文摘Forecasting uncertainties among meteorological fields have long been recognized as the main limitation on the accuracy and predictability of air quality forecasts. However, the particular impact of meteorological forecasting uncertainties on air quality forecasts specific to different seasons is still not well known. In this study,a series of forecasts with different forecast lead times for January,April,July, and October of 2018 are conducted over the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)region and the impacts of meteorological forecasting uncertainties on surface PM_(2.5)concentration forecasts with each lead time are investigated. With increased lead time, the forecasted PM_(2.5)concentrations significantly change and demonstrate obvious seasonal variations. In general, the forecasting uncertainties in monthly mean surface PM_(2.5)concentrations in the BTH region due to lead time are the largest(80%)in spring, followed by autumn(~50%),summer(~40%),and winter(20%).In winter, the forecasting uncertainties in total surface PM_(2.5)mass due to lead time are mainly due to the uncertainties in PBL heights and hence the PBL mixing of anthropogenic primary particles. In spring, the forecasting uncertainties are mainly from the impacts of lead time on lower-tropospheric northwesterly winds, thereby further enhancing the condensation production of anthropogenic secondary particles by the long-range transport of natural dust.In summer, the forecasting uncertainties result mainly from the decrease in dry and wet deposition rates, which are associated with the reduction of near-surface wind speed and precipitation rate.In autumn, the forecasting uncertainties arise mainly from the change in the transport of remote natural dust and anthropogenic particles, which is associated with changes in the large-scale circulation. | Qiuyan DU Chun ZHAO Jiawang FENG Zining YANG Jiamin XU Jun GU Mingshuai ZHANG Mingyue XU Shengfu LIN | 2024 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2024,41,5: | 0 |
