| 3 | A Lagrangian mean theory on coastal sea circulation with inter-tidal transports I.Fundamentals显示文摘A brief review is made on the theory of the Lagrangian residual circulation and inter-tidal transports in a convectively weakly nonlinear system. In the review the emphasis is put on the systematical development of the theory and its weakness of convectively weakly nonlinear approximation. The fundamentals of a Lagrangian tidally-averaged theory on circulation with inter-tidal transport processes have been proposed for a general nonlinear coastal/estuarine system. The Lagrangian residual velocity is strictly defined, and it has been verified to be able to embody the velocity field of circulation. A new concept of the concentration for inter-tidal transport processes is presented. The concentration describing the inter-tidal transport processes should be a 'Lagrangian inter-tidal concentration' defined and named, but not the Eulerian tidally-averaged concentration used traditionally. The circulation described here contains a set of infinite temporal-spatial fields of velocity/concentration, each of which corresponds to a specific value of tidal phases varying continuously over one tidal cycle. The model involves the Richardson number in the eddy viscosity coefficient, wind, thcrmolialine and tidal effects in the focing terms. The runoff of the Huanghe River and a part of the Huanghai Warm Water coming from the Huanghai Sea through the Bohai Sea Strait is also considered. The velocity-splitting method is adopted. The wind-driven circu lation, thermohaline circulation and the tide-induced Lagrangian residual circulation are also obtained individually and analysed. The dynamics of the three main eddies in the Lagrangian mean circulation is discussed. | 9 | Overexpression of a reversion-related protein in the revertant RR cells显示文摘The cDNA insert of the plasmid p14-6[1] is found to be the 3’-untranslatcd region (3’-UTR) of the transcription factor for human interleukin-6, NF-IL6. This 3’ -DTK is actively transcribed in the revertant cell line RR, which contains the p14-6 plasmid integrated into its genomic DNA. Simultaneously a protein specifically bound to this 3’-UTR is expressed in significantly larger amounts. Its overexpression is apparently related to the reversion of the malignant cellular phenotype. | 10 | A Lagrangian mean theory on coastal sea circulation with inter-tidal transports Ⅱ. | 12 | The Observation of Ice-Nucleating Particles Active at Temperatures above –15℃ and Its Implication on Ice Formation in Clouds显示文摘A series of measurements of ice-nucleating particles(INPs) were performed at two sites in Beijing. At the Beijing Meteorological Service(BMS) site, which was an urban site, no INPs were found to be active above –15℃.However, at the Yanjiaping(YJP) site, which was a rural site, the concentration of INPs active at temperatures above–15℃ was found to be as high as 1.73 g^(–1). Two parameterizations were constructed by respectively fitting the data obtained at BMS site and YJP site. The two parameterizations, as well as another parameterization from the literature,were implemented into a parcel model to investigate the effect of INPs active above –15℃ on phase partitioning in mixed-phase clouds. At a vertical velocity of 0.01 m s^(–1), which is typical for stratiform clouds associated with frontal systems, the INPs active above –15℃ nucleate ice crystals at low levels. The growth of these ice crystals remarkably reduces both the maximum liquid water mixing ratio and the altitude where the maximum liquid water mixing ratio is reached.
