1Polymer grafting modification of the surface of nano silicon dioxide显示文摘Based on the composite modification technology of the surface of nano silicon dioxide by non-soap emulsion polymerization, it is verified that there are polymer grafted on the surface of nano silicon dioxide. The modification mechanism and the bonding status on the surface of nano silicon dioxide after modification were suggested via the results of the infrared spectrum, transmission electronic microscope photograph and X-ray photoelectron spectrum. The hydroxyl formed by hydrolyzing of silane coupling agent reacts with hydroxyl on the surface of nano silicon dioxide to form Si-O-Si bonds by losing water molecules and hence the double bonds are introduced onto the surface of nano silicon dioxide. The surface of nano silicon dioxide is grafted with polymer through free radical polymerization between the double bonds on the surface of nano silicon dioxide and styrene under the action of initiating agent. The dispersibility of nano silicon dioxide and the controllability of surface modification of nano silicon dioxide can be greatly improved by the modification process.WeiWu ShouciLu2002Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2002,9,6:5
2Bioflotation of pyrite with Thiobacillus ferrooxidans显示文摘Bioflotation of pyrite with bacteria Thiobacillus ferrooxidans in the presence or absence of potassium ethyl xanthate was studied on a pure pyrite through microflotation and electrophoretic light scattering measurements. The experimental results showed that in the absence of xanthate, pyrite flotation is slightly enhanced by Thiobacillus ferrooxidans. However, with xanthate as a collector, pyrite flotation is strongly depressed after being exposed to the bacteria. The longer is the time when the pyrite is exposed to the bacteria, the stronger the depression is. The mechanism of the depression might be due to the formation of the biofilms of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans on pyrite surfaces, preventing the adsorption of xanthate on pyrite surfaces in the form of dixanthogen or xanthate ions.ShaoxianSong YiminZhang ShouciLu 2004Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2004,11,5:0
3Lead removal from aqueous solution by employing natural brucite显示文摘The effect and mechanism of the removal of Pb2+ from an aqueous solution by using brucite as the adsorbent were studied.It was revealed that the increase in pH of brucite suspension, as a result of the release of magnesium hydroxide into the suspension,leads to a sharp rise of the adsorption amount of Pb2+ on brucite. The synergism of buffering and adsorption capacities of brucite is responsible for the removal of Pb2+ from the aqueous solution. The coexistence of Cu2+ with Pb2+ causes a decrease of their adsorption on brucite due to a competition for surface sites and brucite exhibits a higher adsorption capacity for Pb2+ than for Cu2+. The percentage adsorption of Pb2+ on brucite could reach 96.38%, 97.20% and 94.09% respectively with the initial pH of the suspension pHi = 1.76 (initial Pb2+ concentration [Pb2+]I = 20 μmol/L), 1.82 ([Pb2+]I = 100 μmol/L) and 1.84 ([Pb2+]I = 500 μmol/L). 4Grafting modification on the surface of titanium dioxide by polystyrene显示文摘Based on the technology of titanium dioxide grafting modification with polystyrene (PS), the modification mechanisms are studied and the polystyrene-grafting states on the surface of titanium dioxide have been set up. Under the synergistic actions of mechanical force, chemistry and heat, macromolecular free radicals of PS are created, at the same time, the O-O bonds of titanium dioxide are broken and the oxide free radicals produced, and the numbers of oxygen atom are increased and crystal lattice defects rich electrons are formed on the surface of titanium dioxide. The radical polymerization is the main reaction between PS and titanium dioxide and C-O bonds form in the process of modification. 5Effect of radiation on wettability and floatability of sulfide minerals显示文摘The feasibility for modifying the wettability and floatability of sulfide minerals by electron beam irradiation has been studied experimentally. The wettability of crystalline pyrite and floatability of some sulfide as pyrite, arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite and marmatite after irradiation were examined by flotation in a modified Hallimond tube. Experimental results show that the hydrophobicity of crystalline pyrite enhances with the increase of irradiation dose in a low dose range. And the flotation responses of sulfide minerals on irradiation dosevary with the mineral species and particle size. The floatability of minerals can be regulated by altering irradiation dose.
