| 2 | Mitigation of cross-eye jamming using a dual-polarization array显示文摘This paper presents an approach for mitigating the cross-eye jamming using a dual-polarization array. By transmitting a sum beam and a difference beam in two orthogonal polarimetric channels, a synthesized transmitted beam with spatially varying polarization is produced, such that the polarization of the transmitted radar wave varies in azimuth or elevation. Thus, the phases of the signals received on the two antennas of a cross-eye jammer become unequal, and an additional phase difference is introduced to disrupt the 180? phase shifting in the retrodirective loop of the jammer. By means of beam scanning in a small angular range,the optimal beam steering configuration can be found to maximize the phase error for the mitigation of cross-eye jamming. As a result, the jamming performance of the cross-eye jammer degrades largely. | 4 | The signal selection and processing method for polarization measurement radar显示文摘Based on the ambiguity function, a novel signal processing method for the polarization measurement radar is developed. One advantage of this method is that the two orthogonal polarized signals do not have to be perpendicular to each other, which is required by traditional methods. The error due to the correlation of the two transmitting signals in the traditional method, can be reduced by this new approach. A concept called ambiguity function matrix (AFM) is introduced based on this method. AFM is a promising tool for the signal selection and design in the polarization scattering matrix measurement. The waveforms of the polarimetric radar are categorized and analyzed based on AFM in this paper. The signal processing flow of this method is explained. And the polarization scattering matrix measurement performance is testified by simulation. | 5 | Bistatic scattering centres of cone-shaped targets and target length estimation显示文摘The bistatic scattering centres are commonly modeled as the fixed scattering centres for imaging;however,the location of the bistatic scattering centre changes with the bistatic geometry in some real scenes.This paper focuses on the bistatic scattering centres of cone-shaped targets and considers how to utilize the length of the bistatic high-resolution range profile(HRRP) for target identification.Firstly,the locations of the bistatic scattering centres on the edge of a cone-shaped target are deduced with the method of equivalent currents,which are the intersection points of the edge and the plane constructed by the symmetry axis and the bisector of the bistatic angle.Then,based on the above conclusion,the wideband echo model and bistatic HRRP of a cone-shaped target is deduced.Then,the relation between the length of the bistatic HRRP and target length is deduced,which is useful for target identification.Finally,the bistatic HRRPs of cone-shaped targets are calculated via the Feko software and the calculated results validate the theoretical analysis.This research provides an exact mathematics model for the echo simulation,imaging,feature extraction and identification of cone-shaped targets in the bistatic radar. | AI XiaoFeng ZOU XiaoHai LI YongZhen YANG JianHua XIAO ShunPing | 2012 | Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,12: | 8 |
| 6 | Polarization discrimination between repeater false-target and radar target显示文摘High fidelity repeater false-target badly affects a radar system's detecting, tracking, and data processing. It is an available approach of confronting false-target for radar that discriminates firstly and then eliminates. Whereas for the technique progress about the repeater false-target jam, it is more and more difficult to discriminate this jam in the time-domain, frequency-domain, or space-domain. The technique using polarization information to discriminate the target and false-target is discussed in this paper. With the difference that false-target signal vector's polarization ratio is fixed and target echo signal vector's polarization ratio is variational along with radar transmission signal's polarization, we transform the discrimination problem to beeline distinguish problem in the 2-dim complex space. The distributing characteristic expression of the false-target discrimination statistic is constructed, with which the discrimination ratio of false-target is analyzed. For the target case, the decomposed model of target scattering matrix and the concept of distinguish quantity are proposed. Then, the discrimination ratio of target can be forecasted according to target distinguish quantity. Thus, the performance of discrimination method has been analyzed integrally. | 7 | Statistical assessment of H/A target decomposition theorems in radar polarimetry显示文摘Target decomposition (TD) theorems have been widely applied in radar polarimetry, serving as the bridge between radar measurements and the physical parameters of a scatterer. The H/A target decomposition is one of the most suitable tools for performing data interpretation in the study and characterization of natural scatters. In this paper, the statistics of the parameters of eigenvalue, eigenvector and H/A have been analyzed via a novel method, and the probability density functions (PDF) have been obtained. It is pointed out that all these parameters can be seen as asymptotically nonbiased with respect to the number of looks. In order to reduce the biases for a small number of looks, a novel estimator for the parameters has been proposed. | 9 | Performance gain bounds of coherently combining multiple radars in a target-based calibration manner显示文摘To achieve a high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) while maintaining moderate radar antenna, a target-based calibration manner is available to coherently combine multiple radars. The key to this calibration manner is to estimate coherence parameters(CPs), i.e., time and phase calibration values in transmission and reception estimation, by separating the target returns into monostatic and bistatic echoes. However, CPs estimations exist uncertainties, which will affect the performance gain after multiradar coherent combination. The principle of coherently combining multiple radars is elaborated and the signal probability model for CPs estimation is established. On this basis, CPs Cramer-Rao bound(CRB) is derived in the closed-form, according to which the non-tight and tight upper bounds for multiple radars coherent combination performance gain are derived in the closed-form and via Monte Carlo(MC) simulations, respectively.
