| 2 | Brain-derived neurotrophic factor mediates macrophage migration inhibitory factor to protect neurons against oxygen-glucose deprivation显示文摘Macrophage migration inhibitory factor(MIF)is a chemokine that plays an essential role in immune system function.Previous studies suggested that MIF protects neurons in ischemic conditions.However,few studies are reported on the role of MIF in neurological recovery after ischemic stroke.The purpose of this study is to identify the molecular mechanism of neuroprotection mediated by MIF.Human neuroblastoma cells were incubated in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium under oxygen-glucose deprivation(OGD)for 4 hours and then returned to normal aerobic environment for reperfusion(OGD/R).30 ng/mL MIF recombinant(30 ng/mL)or ISO-1(MIF antagonist;50μM)was administered to human neuroblastoma cells.Then cell cultures were assigned to one of four groups:control,OGD/R,OGD/R with MIF,OGD/R with ISO-1.Cell viability was analyzed using WST-1 assay.Expression levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),microtubule-associated protein 2(MAP2),Caspase-3,Bcl2,and Bax were detected by western blot assay and immunocytochemistry in each group to measure apoptotic activity.WST-1 assay results revealed that compared to the OGD/R group,cell survival rate was significantly higher in the OGD/R with MIF group and lower in the OGD/R with ISO-1 group.Western blot assay and immunocytochemistry results revealed that expression levels of BDNF,Bcl2,and MAP2 were significantly higher,and expression levels of Caspase-3 and Bax were significantly lower in the MIF group than in the OGD/R group.Expression levels of BDNF,Bcl2,and MAP2 were significantly lower,and expression levels of Caspase-3 and Bax were significantly higher in the ISO-1 group than in the OGD/R group.MIF administration promoted neuronal cell survival and induced high expression levels of BDNF,MAP2,and Bcl2(anti-apoptosis)and low expression levels of Caspase-3 and Bax(pro-apoptosis)in an OGD/R model.These results suggest that MIF administration is effective for inducing expression of BDNF and leads to neuroprotection of neuronal cells against hypoxic injury. | Su Hwan Bae Mi Ran Yoo Ye Yeong Kim In Kyung Hong Mi Hee Kim Seung Hak Lee Dae Yul Kim | 2020 | Neural Regeneration Research2020,15,8: | 11 |

| 6 | Stream-computing of High Accuracy On-board Real-time Cloud Detection for High Resolution Optical Satellite Imagery显示文摘This paper focuses on the time efficiency for machine vision and intelligent photogrammetry, especially high accuracy on-board real-time cloud detection method. With the development of technology, the data acquisition ability is growing continuously and the volume of raw data is increasing explosively. Meanwhile, because of the higher requirement of data accuracy, the computation load is also becoming heavier. This situation makes time efficiency extremely important. Moreover, the cloud cover rate of optical satellite imagery is up to approximately 50%, which is seriously restricting the applications of on-board intelligent photogrammetry services. To meet the on-board cloud detection requirements and offer valid input data to subsequent processing, this paper presents a stream-computing of high accuracy on-board real-time cloud detection solution which follows the “bottom-up” understanding strategy of machine vision and uses multiple embedded GPU with significant potential to be applied on-board. Without external memory, the data parallel pipeline system based on multiple processing modules of this solution could afford the “stream-in, processing, stream-out” real-time stream computing. | 12 | Needle-knife fistulotomy vs double-guidewire technique in patients with repetitive unintentional pancreatic cannulations显示文摘AIM: To compare the success rates and adverse events of early needle-knife fistulotomy(NKF) and double-guidewire technique(DGT) in patients with repetitive unintentional pancreatic cannulations.METHODS: From a total of 1650 patients admitted for diagnostic or therapeutic endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) at a single tertiary care hospital(Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital, Yangsan, South Korea) between January2009 and December 2012, 134(8.1%) patients with unsuccessful biliary cannulation after 5 min trial of conventional methods, together with 5 or more repetitive unintentional pancreatic cannulations, were enrolled in the study. Early NKF and DGT groups were assigned 67 patients each. In the DGT group, NKF was performed for an additional 7 min if successful cannulation was not achieved.RESULTS: The success rates with early NKF andthe DGT were 79.1%(53/67) and 44.8%(30/67)(P< 0.001), respectively. The incidence of post-ERCP pancreatitis(PEP) was lower in the early NKF group than in the DGT group [4.5%(3/67) vs 14.9%(10/67),P = 0.041]. | 13 | Hydrogen production through diesel steam reforming over rare-earth promoted Ni/γ-Al_2O_3 catalysts显示文摘Rare-earth (La, Ce, Yb) promoted Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by impregnation method. Activity and carbon formation resistance of the prepared catalysts were evaluated under various reaction conditions. Catalyst characterizations with TG, TPR and H2 chemisorption were carried out to investigate the promoting mechanism. Experimental results show that rare-earth promoters, especially Yb promoter, obviously improve the activity and carbon formation resistance of Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalyst, and Yb-Ni catalyst shows even higher performance than several commercial catalysts. According to the characterization results, Yb promoter enhances the interaction between the active metal and support, thus increasing the active metal’s dispersion and improving its performance. It is found that the root of the seed melt when gas pressure equals to one atmosphere or more than one atmosphere, especially during the seeding period, this result is consistent with the experimental observation, and this paper presents three ways to solve this problem. The temperature gradient and stress decreases significantly as the gas pressure increases. The convexity of the solid-liquid interface slightly increases when the gas pressure increases. | 19 | Is a split-dose regimen of 2 L polyethylene glycol plus ascorbic acid tolerable for colonoscopy in an early morning visit to a comprehensive medical check-up?显示文摘AIM To evaluate the effectiveness and tolerability of a split-dose 2L polyethylene glycol (PEG)/ascorbic acid(AA) regimen for healthy examinees who visited for comprehensive medical check-up in the early morning.METHODS From February 2015 to March 2015, examinees of average risk who were scheduled for a colonoscopy in the morning were retrospectively enrolled.RESULTS The 189 examinees were divided into split-dose and non-split-dose groups. The adequacy of bowel preparation for the split-dose group vs the non-splitdose group was 96.8% vs 85.2%, respectively, P<0.001, and the compliance of the last meal restrictionwas 74.6% vs 58.2%, respectively, P <0.001. The sleep disturbance (P<0.001) was more prevalent in the split-dose group, however the willingness to repeat the same preparation method (P=0.243) was not different in both groups. The split-dose regimen was the most important factor influencing adequate bowel preparation in multivariate analysis(HR=10.89, 95%CI: 6.53-18.17, P<0.001).CONCLUSION A split-dose regimen of 2L PEG/AA for an early morning colonoscopy was more effective and showed better compliance for diet restriction without any difference in satisfaction and discomfort. | 20 | 3D metal-organic frameworks based on lanthanide-seamed dimeric pyrogallol[4]arene nanocapsules显示文摘Two novel 3D metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)with cds network,{[Me NH_3]_7[Ln_8(Pg C_2)_2(H_2O)_y(HCOO)_7]}_n·x(Solvent)(FJI-Y4,FJI=Fujian Institute,Ln=Gd,y=12;FJI-Y5,Ln=Dy,y=11;Pg C_2=C-ethylpyrogallol[4]arene),based on unprecedented dimeric pyrogallol[4]arene-based Ln_8metal-organic nanocapsule(MONC)supramolecular building blocks and formate linkers,have been prepared under solvothermal conditions.To our best of knowledge,they present not only the first two examples of 3D hierarchical structures constructed from MONCs in metal-pyrogallol[4]arene system,but also the first two examples of MOFs based on lanthanide MONCs.Remarkably,the inner cavity volume of the Ln_8capsule in FJI-Y4 and FJI-Y5 is approximately151?~3,which is larger than those found in previous transition metal-seamed dimeric Pg C_n-based MONCs.Magnetic investigation on FJI-Y4 suggests a significant magnetocaloric effect(23.97 J kg^(-1)K^(-1),ΔH=7 T,2.5 K),while FJI-Y5 exhibits slow relaxation of the magnetization. | Kongzhao Su Mingyan Wu Wenjing Wang Mi Zhou Daqiang Yuan Maochun Hong | 2018 | Science China Chemistry2018,61,6: | 2 |
