| 2 | ROS-removing nano-medicine for navigating inflammatory microenvironment to enhance anti-epileptic therapy显示文摘As a neurological disorder in the brain,epilepsy is not only associated with abnormal synchronized discharging of neurons,but also inseparable from non-neuronal elements in the altered microenvironment.Anti-epileptic drugs(AEDs)merely focusing on neuronal circuits frequently turn out deficient,which is necessitating comprehensive strategies of medications to cover over-exciting neurons,activated glial cells,oxidative stress and chronic inflammation synchronously.Therefore,we would report the design of a polymeric micelle drug delivery system that was functioned with brain targeting and cerebral microenvironment modulation.In brief,reactive oxygen species(ROS)-sensitive phenylboronic ester was conjugated with poly-ethylene glycol(PEG)to form amphiphilic copolymers.Additionally,dehydroascorbic acid(DHAA),an analogue of glucose,was applied to target glucose transporter 1(GLUT1)and facilitate micelle penetration across the blood‒brain barrier(BBB).A classic hydrophobic AED,lamotrigine(LTG),was encapsulated in the micelles via self-assembly.When administrated and transferred across the BBB,ROS-scavenging polymers were expected to integrate anti-oxidation,anti-inflammation and neuro-electric modulation into one strategy.Moreover,micelles would alter LTG distribution in vivo with improved efficacy.Overall,the combined anti-epileptic therapy might provide effective opinions on how to maximize neuroprotection during early epileptogenesis. | Zheng Zhou Keying Li Yongchao Chu Chao Li Tongyu Zhang Peixin Liu Tao Sun Chen Jiang | 2023 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,3: | 1 |
| 3 | DRAM:A DRL-based resource allocation scheme for MAR in MEC显示文摘Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)and 5G technology allow clients to access computing resources at the network frontier,which paves the way for applying Mobile Augmented Reality(MAR)applications.Under the MEC paradigm,MAR clients can offload complex tasks to the MEC server and enhance the human perception of the world by merging the received virtual information with the real environment.However,the resource allocation problem arises as a critical challenge in circumstances where several MAR clients compete for limited resources at the network frontier.In this paper,we aim to design an online resource allocation scheme on the MEC server that takes both high quality of experience and good fairness performance for MAR clients into consideration.We first formulate this problem as a Markov decision process and tackle the challenge of applying the deep reinforcement learning paradigm.Then,we propose DRAM,a Deep reinforcement learning-based Resource allocation scheme for mobile Augmented reality service in MEC.We also propose a self-adaptive algorithm on the MAR client that is derived based on the analysis of the MAR service to tackle client adaptation problems.The simulation results demonstrated that DRAM can provide high quality of experience and simultaneously achieve good fairness performance by coordinating with clients’adaptation algorithms. | Tongyu Song Xuebin Tan Jing Ren Wenyu Hu Sheng Wang Shizhong Xu Xiong Wang Gang Sun Hongfang Yu | 2023 | Digital Communications and Networks2023,9,3: | 0 |
| 4 | Notoginsenoside R1 Protects against Diabetic Nephropathy through TXNIP-NLRP3 Signaling Pathway显示文摘Background:Diabetic nephropathy(DN)is a microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus(DM).DN results from many factors,including changes in glomerular hemodynamics,oxidative stress and inflammation,and in-terstitial fibrosis and tubular atrophy.Panax notoginseng,a commonly used Chinese medicine,has been used in the treatment of kidney disease.Notoginsenoside R1(NGR1),the main compound isolated from P.notoginseng,has been reported to have a renoprotective role in DN.However,the therapeutic effect and mechanism of NGR1 in DN remain unclear.Objective:The present study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect and mechanism of NGR1 in DN.Methods:In this study,mouse podocytes(MPC-5 cells)and db/db mice were used to investigate the effect of NGR1 on DN in vitro and in vivo,respectively.Blood glucose,renal function,inflammatory factors,and PI3K/AKT-Nrf2-NLRP3 signaling pathway proteins were assessed.Results:The study results indicated that NGR1 reversed cell viability induced by high glucose(HG,30 mM).The related mechanism results showed that NGR1 decreased oxidative stress by inhibiting reactive oxygen species(ROS)level and upregulating the expression of Nrf2,NQO1,and HO-1 via TXNIP targeting.In addition,NLRP3 inflammasome and PI3K/AKT were engaged in NGR1-based protection against HG-stimulated podocytes.In db/db mice,NGR1 significantly decreased blood glucose,urine protein,urine output,blood urea nitrogen,and other parameters as well as reversed kidney injury by inhibiting oxidative stress and proinflammatory response.Conclusion:Taken together,this study revealed that NGR1 exerted a significant therapeutic effect on DN both in vitro and in vivo via a mechanism related to the TXNIP-Nrf2 pathway and NLRP3 inflammasome,suggesting that NGR1 is a potential therapeutic option for DN. | Chunting Zhang Renyikun Yuan Siyuan Li Guodong Huang Kaili Sun Jiaping Pan Qiuxia Liu Xiang Gao Zhijing Wang Tongyu Li Shilong Lu Jianzhen Lv Liting Huang Hongwei Gao | 2023 | Clinical Complementary Medicine and Pharmacology2023,3,4: | 0 |
