1Drought Tolerance in Rice: Focus on Recent Mechanisms and Approaches显示文摘Drought stress is a serious limiting factor to rice production,which results in huge economic losses.It is becoming a more serious issue with respect to the global climate change.Keeping in view of the current and forecasted global food demand,it has become essential to enhance the crop productivity on the drought-prone rainfed lands with priority.In order to achieve the production target from rainfed areas,there is a requirement of rice varieties with drought tolerance,and genetic improvement for drought tolerant should be a high priority theme of research in the future.Breeding for drought tolerant rice varieties is a thought-provoking task because of the complex nature and multigenic control of drought tolerant traits would be a major bottleneck for the current research.A great progress has been made during last two decades in our understanding of the mechanisms involved in adaptation and tolerance to drought stress in rice.In this review,we highlighted the recent progresses in physiological,biochemical and molecular adaptation of rice to drought tolerance.A brief discussion on the molecular genetics and breeding approaches for drought tolerance in rice will be focused for the future crop improvement program for development of drought tolerant rice varieties.Debabrata PANDA Swati Sakambari MISHRA Prafulla Kumar BEHERA 2021Rice science2021,28,2:3
2Leaf Traits and Antioxidant Defense for Drought Tolerance During Early Growth Stage in Some Popular Traditional Rice Landraces from Koraput, India显示文摘Three popular traditional rice landraces, namely Kalajeera, Machakanta and Haladichudi, from Koraput, India were used to analyse the leaf traits and antioxidant defence for drought tolerance. When rice plants were exposed to different levels of drought stress by varying concentrations of polyethylene glycol(PEG) 6000, seed germination and growth parameters were significantly declined in all the rice landraces compared to the control. Drought stress also altered the leaf phenotypic traits based on chlorophyll fluorescence parameters and chlorophyll index, with more significant differences in susceptible variety IR64 than in traditional landraces. Furthermore, activities of antioxidative enzymes and proline and protein contents overtly increased under drought stress. The traditional rice landraces showed higher relative ratios for different parameters compared to the susceptible variety IR64. Taken together,the traditional landraces had superior leaf physiological efficiency compared to the susceptible and tolerant check varieties under drought stress.Swati Sakambari MISHRA Debabrata PANDA 2017Rice science2017,24,4:3
3Ferroelectric composite-based piezoelectric energy harvester for selfpowered detection of obstructive sleep显示文摘Lead-free piezoelectric ceramic is a promising material for energy harvesters,as they have superior electromechanical,ferroelectric,and piezoelectric properties.In addition,piezoelectric ceramics can be blended with polymer to achieve high-flexibility polymer-ceramic composites,providing mechanical robustness and stability.In this context,a new lead-free ferroelectric material,having the chemical formula SrTi_(2)O_(5)(STO),was synthesized using a high-temperature solid-state reaction.Detailed analyses of the structural,morphological,and electrical properties of the synthesized material were performed.STO crystallizes with orthorhombic symmetry and space group of Cmm2.The frequency and temperature-dependent dielectric parameters were evaluated,and impedance spectroscopy shed light on the charge dynamics.The PDMS-STO composites at different mass fraction of the STO were prepared using a solvent casting route,and a corresponding piezoelectric nanogenerator(PENG)was developed.The electrical output of the different PENG by varying massfractions of STO in PDMS and varying force were investigated.The 15%(in mass)PENG device delivered the highest peak-to-peak voltage,current,and power density of 25 V,92 nA,and 0.64 mW@500 MU,respectively.The biomechanical energy harvesting using the PENG device by daily human motions,bending of the device,and attaching the device to laboratory equipment was demonstrated.Later the PENG device was attached to the human throat region,and snoring signals were recorded.A classification model was designed employing the convolutional neural network(CNN)model.Efforts have been laid to differentiate between normal and abnormal snores,which could help the patient with screening and early disease detection,contributing to self-powered healthcare applications.Swati Panda Hyoju Shin Sugato Hajra Yumi Oh Wonjeong Oh Jeonghyeon Lee P.M.Rajaitha Basanta Kumar Panigrahi Jyoti Shukla Alok Kumar Sahu Perumal Alagarsamy Hoe Joon Kim 2023Journal of Materiomics2023,9,4:0
