| 1 | An action-based Markov chain modeling approach for predicting the window operating behavior in office spaces显示文摘Reliable energy and performance prediction for building design and planning is important for newly-designed or retrofitted buildings.Window operating behavior has an important influence on the ventilation and energy consumption of these buildings under different realistic scenarios.Therefore,quantitatively describing this behavior and constructing a prediction model are important.In this work,an action-based Markov chain modeling approach for predicting window operating behavior in office spaces was proposed.Two summer measurement data(2016 and 2018)were used to verify the accuracy and validity of the modeling approach.The opening rate,outdoor temperature,time distribution,and on-off curve were proposed as four inspection standards.This study also compared the prediction performance between the action-based Markov chain modeling approach with the state-based Markov chain modeling approach,which is the most popular modeling approach to model occupant window operating behavior.This study proved that the yearly variation of occupants’behavior performed a form of action that remained unchanged during a certain period.Meanwhile,the results also proved that the action-based Markov chain modeling approach can reflect the actual window operating behavior accurately within an open-plan office,which is a beneficial supplement for energy-consumption simulation software in a window-state prediction module.The state-based Markov chain modeling approach showed better stability and accuracy in terms of the opening rate,whereas the action-based Markov chain modeling approach showed good consistency with the measurement data in the on-off curves and in situations with little data.For the on-off curves,the accuracy of action-based modeling approach in the prediction of window open-state is 20%higher. | Xin Zhou Tiance Liu Da Yan Xing Shi Xing Jin | 2021 | Building Simulation2021,14,2: | 7 |
| 2 | Modified Zhibai Dihuang pill,a traditional Chinese medicine formula,on steroid withdrawal in systemic lupus erythematosus:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background:Zhibai Dihuang pill(ZBDH),a Chinese herbal formula,has been widely used as an adjunctive therapy to help reduce the patient’s steroid dose and maintain low disease activity in systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Objective:This systematic review evaluates the therapeutic effect of modified ZBDH in reducing steroid use in patients with SLE.Search strategy:A systematic literature search was carried out using seven databases,including PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese VIP Information and Wanfang Database,from their inception to June 1 st,2019.The search terms included‘‘systemic lupus erythematosus,'‘‘Chinese medicine'and‘‘clinical trial,'and their synonyms.Subject headings matching the above terms were also used.Inclusion criteria:This meta-analysis included randomized controlled trials that evaluated the reduction of steroid dose in patients with SLE.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)formulas in experimental group should be prescribed based on ZBDH and used as adjunctive therapy and the comparator should contain steroids.Data extraction and analysis:Two authors independently conducted database search,study selection,data extraction and quality assessment.The extracted information contained study design,sample size,recruitment mode,diagnostic criteria,inclusion and exclusion criteria,participant characteristics,TCM patterns,TCM formulas and treatment outcomes.The primary outcome was the change of steroid dose.Secondary outcomes included SLE Disease Activity Index(SLEDAI),biomarkers of disease activity and clinical response rate.STATA 15.0 was used to analyze the pooled effects reported as weighted mean difference(WMD)or odds ratio,with a 95%confidence interval(CI).Results:In total,20 trials involving 1470 SLE patients were included.The pooled result showed that modified ZBDH taken in combination with standard care led to a larger reduction in steroid dose,compared to standard care alone(WMD:3.79;95%CI:2.58–5.01;P<0.001).Favorable outcomes were also seen in secondary outcome criteria,such as SLEDAI and complement 3.The modified ZBDH treatments were well tolerated without increasing adverse effects.Conclusion:The systematic review provided preliminary evidence supporting the use of ZBDH as a cotherapy to aid steroid dose reduction in patients with SLE.However,more rigorous studies should be conducted to validate these findings,and explore the mechanisms of ZBDH’s relevant bioactive constituents. | Liang Dai Ka Kei Chan Jian-chun Mao Yu Tianc Jun-hua Gu Jun Zhou Linda L.D.Zhong | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Medicine2020,18,6: | 3 |
| 3 | Soft Open Point Planning in Renewable-dominated Distribution Grids with Building Thermal Storage显示文摘With an increasing integration of intermittent distributed energy resources(DERs),the consequent voltage excursion and thermal overloading issues limit the self-sufficiency of distribution networks(DNs).The concept of soft open point(SOP)has been proposed as a promising solution to improve the hosting capacity of DNs.In this paper,considering the ability of building thermal storage(BTS)to increase the penetration of renewable energy in DNs,we provide an optimal planning framework for SOP and DER.The optimal planning model is aimed at minimizing the investment and operational costs while respecting various constraints,including the self-sufficiency requirement of the DN,SOP,building thermal storage capacity and DER operations,etc.A steady-state SOP model is formulated and linearized to be incorporated into the planning framework.To make full use of the BTS flexibility provided by ubiquitous buildings,a differential equation model for building thermal dynamics is formulated.A hybrid stochastic/robust optimization approach is adopted to depict the uncertainties in renewable energy and market prices.IEEE 33-bus feeder and a realistic DN in the metropolitan area of Caracas are tested to validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework and method.Case studies show that SOP/BTS plays a complementary and coordinated coupling role in the thermo-electric system,thereby effectively improving the hosting capacity and self-sufficiency of DNs. | Tiance Zhang Jianxiao Wang Haiwang Zhong Gengyin Li Ming Zhou Dejie Zhao | 2023 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2023,9,1: | 3 |
