1SOCS3 Attenuates GM-CSF/IFN-γ-Mediated Inflammation During Spontaneous Spinal Cord Regeneration显示文摘SOCS3,a feedback inhibitor of the JAK/STAT signal pathway,negatively regulates axonal regrowth and inflammation in the central nervous system(CNS).Here,we demonstrated a distinct role of SOCS3 in the injured spinal cord of the gecko following tail amputation.Severing the gecko spinal cord did not evoke an inflammatory cascade except for an injury-stimulated elevation of the granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor(GM-CSF) and interferon gamma(IFN-γ) cytokines.Simultaneously,the expression of SOCS3 was upregulated in microglia,and unexpectedly not in neurons.Enforced expression of SOCS3 was sufficient to suppress the GMCSF/IFN-γ-driven inflammatory responses through its KIR domain by attenuating the activities of JAK1 and JAK2.SOCS3 was also linked to GM-CSF/IFN-y-induced crosstolerance.Transfection of adenovirus overexpressing SOCS3 in the injured cord resulted in a significant decrease of inflammatory cytokines.These results reveal a distinct role of SOCS3 in the regenerating spinal cord,and provide new hints for CNS repair in mammals.Xuejie Zhang Bingqiang He Hui Li Yingjie Wang Yue Zhou Wenjuan Wang Tiancheng Song Nan Du Xingxing Gu Yi Luo Yongjun Wang 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,7:3

3PRESSURE GRADIENT ALONG PIPELINE IN HYDROTRANSPORT显示文摘The head loss along pipeline in hydrotransport has been studied through a set of well arranged experiments. For pseudo one-phase now with fully mixed sediment particles, a modified Reynolds number Re1 consisting of yield stress τB and rigidity η of the Bingham fluid and other hydraulic parameters is adopted, the relationship between Re1 and friction factor λ is the same as that of clear water. For two-phase flow when all particles are fully suspended, the head loss is the same as that of pseudo one-phase flow. If coarse particles move as bed load, extra resistance will occur. The critical condition under which the extra flow resistance appears has been found. Two types of theoretically deduced resistance curves agree well with the experimental results. It can be deduced that the pressure gradient is proportional to D-1 to D-1.25, depending on the rheological properties of suspension and the flow velocity. Drag reduction may take place only in two-phase flow with bed load movement. 5First-principles study on the conventional superconductivity of N-doped fcc-LuH_(3)显示文摘Recently,room-temperature superconductivity has been reported in a nitrogen-doped lutetium hydride at near-ambient pressure[Dasenbrock-Gammon et al.,Nature 615,244(2023)].The superconducting properties might arise from Fm3m-LuH_(3)−δNε.Here,we systematically study the phase diagram of Lu–N–H at 1 GPa using first-principles calculations,and we do not find any thermodynamically stable ternary compounds.In addition,we calculate the dynamic stability and superconducting properties of N-doped Fm3m-LuH_(3) using the virtual crystal approximation(VCA)and the supercell method.The R3m-Lu_(2)H_(5)N predicted using the supercell method could be dynamically stable at 50 GPa,with a T_(c) of 27 K.According to the VCA method,the highest T_(c) is 22 K,obtained with 1%N-doping at 30 GPa.Moreover,the doping of nitrogen atoms into Fm3m-LuH_(3) slightly enhances T_(c),but raises the dynamically stable pressure.Our theoretical results show that the T_(c) values of N-doped LuH_(3) estimated using the Allen–Dynes-modified McMillan equation are much lower than room temperature.Zihao Huo Defang Duan Tiancheng Ma Zihan Zhang Qiwen Jiang Decheng An Hao Song Fubo Tian Tian Cui 2023Matter and Radiation at Extremes2023,8,3:0
