1Two new species of Japalura(Squamata:Agamidae)from the Hengduan Mountain Range,China显示文摘Until recently, the agamid species,Japalura flaviceps, was recognized to have the widest geographic distribution among members of the genus occurring in China, from eastern Tibet to Shaanxi Province. However, recent studies restricted the distribution of J.flaviceps to the Dadu River valley only in northwestern Sichuan Province, suggesting that records of J.flaviceps outside the Dadu River valley likely represent undescribed diversity.During two herpetofaunal surveys in 2013 and 2015,eight and 12 specimens of lizards of the genus Japalura were collected from the upper Nujiang(=Salween)Valley in eastern Tibet,China, and upper Lancang(=Mekong)Valley in northwestern Yunnan,China, respectively. These specimens display a unique suite of diagnostic morphological characters. Our robust comparisons of phenotype reveal that these populations can be distinguished readily from J.flaviceps and all other recognized congeners.Herein,we describe the two Japalura lineages as new species,Japalura laeviventris sp.nov.and Japalura iadina sp.nov..In addition,we provide updated conservation assessments for the new species as well as imperiled congeners according to the IUCN criteria for classification, discuss the importance of color patterns in the diagnosis and description of species in the genus Japalura, and discuss directions for future taxonomic studies of the group.Kai WANG Ke JIANG Da-Hu ZOU Fang YAN Cameron D.SILER Jing CHE Kunming Institute of Zoology,Chinese Academy of Sciences Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History and Department of Biology,University of Oklahoma Tibet University 2016Zoological Research2016,37,1:9
2A new genus and species of treefrog from Medog, southeastern Tibet,China(Anura,Rhacophoridae)显示文摘A new genus and species of threefrog is described from Medog, southeastern Tibet,China based on morphological and phylogenetic data. The new genus can be distinguished from other treefrog genera by the following combination of characters:(1)body size moderate,45.0 mm in male;(2)snout rounded;(3)canthus rostralis obtuse and raised prominently, forming a ridge from nostril to anterior corner of eyes;(4)web rudimentary on fingers;(5)web moderately developed on toes;(6)phalange 'Y' shaped, visible from dorsal side of fingers and toes;(7)skin of dorsal surfaces relatively smooth, scatted with small tubercles;(8)iris with a pale yellow,'X' shaped pattern of pigmentation.Ke JIANG Fang YAN Kai WANG Da-Hu ZOU Cheng LI Jing CHE State Key Laboratory of Genetic Resources and Evolution,Kunming Institute of Zoology,Chinese Academy of Sciences Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History and Department of Biology,University of Oklahoma Tibet University Imaging Biodiversity Expedition 2016Zoological Research2016,37,1:5
3Cultivar and Environmental Variation ofβ-glucan Content in Chinese Barleys显示文摘β-glucan is a polysaccharide compound closely related to the quality of barley used as malting, feed and food. Low β-glucan content is expected for brewing and feed barley, while high β-glucan content is desirable for food barley. The β-glucan content of barley genotypes collected from various areas of China as well as from Canada and Australia were assayed. Meanwhile a multi-locations trial was conducted to determineβ-glucan content of 10 barley cultivars in 8 locations for two successive planting years. The results showed that barley genotypes from Tibet and Xinjiang had higher β-glucan content and the genotypes with higher than 8%of β-glucan content were detected in Tibet barleys, being valuable for use in the development of healthy food.Barley cultivars being planted now in winter-sowing areas of China had basically the same β-glucan content as those from Canada and Australia. Barley seeds produced in Hangzhou had lower β-glucan content than seeds from the original areas. There was a highly significant difference in β-glucan content among 10 barleys, 8locations and between years. On an average of two years, Xiumei 3 and Kongpei 1 had the highest and lowestβ-glucan content, respectively, and Taian and Hangzhou produced the highest and lowest β-glucan content barley seeds, respectively. Analysis of AMMI model showed that interaction effect between cultivar and environment was highly significant in both experimental years, and was dependent on cuitivar, suggesting that it is important to plant the suitable cultivars in a particular area in order to obtain barley seeds with reasonableβ-glucan content.CHEN Jin-xin, Zhang Guo-ping, QIANG Xiao-lin, WANG Jun-mei and DING Shou-ren( Agronomy Department, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310029 Academy of Tibet Agriculture , Lasa 850000) 2002Agricultural Sciences in China2002,1,3:0
4Investigation Report on Linzhi Native Pig as a New Genetic Resource显示文摘Linzhi Native Pig is an unique local breed recently discovered in the hinterland of Tibet. Its geological distribution, natural environment and ecological conditions have been explored. Using random sampling in typical colony of classification and standard animal-scientific and biogenetic techniques, we examined its contour features, size and weight, reproductive performances, carcass characters, meat quality, freshkeeping features and the frequency distribution in the 19 structural gene loci encoding enzymes and proteins;according to folklores and Tibetan, Chinese and English history books, the materials and literature of Tibetan Studies, we have analyzed its origin; by visiting and requesting eminent Lamaists, practitioners of Tibetan medicine, farmers and herdsmen who self or relatives once treated with products from Linzhi Native Pigs, we recorded and summarized its application as a Tibetan medicinal material. Our findings make certain that Linzhi Native Pig holds great potential value in economy and culture.CHANG Hong, MIMACHIREN, LI Xiang-yun, REN Zhan-jun, DONWANG, DEJIYANGZHOG and CHANG Guo-bing( Yangzhou University, Yangzhou 225009, P.
