14Ethics of mandatory COVID-19 vaccination:a scoping review显示文摘Vaccination against life-threatening infectious illnesses is an important medical contribution that saves millions of lives worldwide each year. However, vaccine development and its use often attracted significant ethical controversies. The ethical deliberations around vaccine research and use often utilize public health ethics principles where the benefit of the community at large or the common good is considered as the goal of ethical deliberations over benefits at the individual level.A scoping review of the literature regarding mandatory COVID-19 vaccination showed that many scholars recommended such a strategy based on the harm principle, and there is not much literature regarding other ethical principles that can be utilized to promote mandatory COVID-19 vaccination.Nalakath Arakkal Uvais 2023History & Philosophy of Medicine2023,5,3:0
15Comorbid psoriasis-bipolar disorder successfully treated with apremilast:much more than a mere coincidence?显示文摘Psoriasis is a chronic, immune mediated, systemic inflammatory skin disease with a reported prevalence of 0.6%-4.8%in the general population.Bipolar disorder(BP)is a severe episodic psychiatric disorder that ranks as the fourth leading cause of disability.Recent evidence suggests that genetic and immunological factors play a significant role in the developmeht of both disorders.Studies have also shown a higher association of psychiatric disorders among patients with psoriasis. Moreover, several autoimmune comorbidities have been reported in association with BP.Here,we describe a young woman with BP who developed psoriasis after 1 year of developing BP and showed exacerbations in psoriasis lesions with each manic episode. We also highlight the safe and efficacious use of apremilast for psoriatic lesions in the woman.N A Uvais S V Rakhesh T P Afra N A Bishurul Hafi Muhammed Razmi T 2020General Psychiatry2020,33,3:0
