Hyaluronic acid fragments evoke Kupffer cells via TLR4 signaling pathway显示文摘Kupffer cells, expressing toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), play a central role in hepatic ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Hyaluronic acid (HA) fragments, degradative products of high-molecular-weight HA (HMW-HA), acquire the ability to activate immune cells under inflammatory conditions. Here we inves- tigated whether HA fragments could activate Kupffer cells and analyzed the underlying mechanism. Kupffer cells were isolated from wild-type mice (WT, C3H/HeN) and TLR4 mutant mice (C3H/HeJ) and HA fragments were produced by the methods of enzyme digestion and chromatography. Then Kupffer cells were stimulated by HA fragments or other control stimuli. The activation of Kupffer cells was estimated as the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. The activation of p38 MAPK pathway of Kupffer cells was checked and blocking experiments were done as well. The results indicated that HA fragments acquired the ability to activate Kupffer cells in vitro, which was TLR4 dependent and not due to contamination of lipopolysaccharide. Experiments of p38 MAPK kinase inhibition by SB-203580 verified p38 MAPK was required in HA fragments induced Kupffer cells activation. This suggests that HA fragments, degradative products of one of the major glycosaminoglycans of the extracellular matrix, play critical roles in Kupffer cell activation mediated by TLR4 signaling pathway, which is, at least partially, de- pendent on p38 MAPK activation. | ZHANG JinXiang1, WANG Hui2, XIAO Qing3, LIANG HuiFang4, LI ZhuoYa4, JIANG ChunFang1, WU HeShui5 & ZHENG QiChang5 1 Department of Emergency Surgery, Union Hospital Affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430022, China 2 Department of Medical Genetics, Tongji Medical College Affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430030, China 3 Department of Ophthalmology, Union Hospital Affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430022, China 4 Department of Medical Immunology, Tongji Medical College Affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430030, China 5 Department of General Surgery, Union Hospital Affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430022, China | 2009 | Science China(Life Sciences)2009,52,2: | 33
Tectonic evolution of the Dabieshan orogen: In the view from polyphase deformation of the Beihuaiyang metamorphic zone显示文摘The Beihuaiyang metamorphic zone was formed by the Early Mesozoic collision of the North and South China Blocks. It consisted of the Foziling and Luzhenguan complexes and was thought to have never afforded a deep subduction. A similar feature of the deformation in the Dabieshan UHP metamorphic rocks implies that these different tectonic units share the same geodynamic background. The early stage of deformation can be preserved on account of their relatively shallower subduction than that for UHP rocks. On the basis of an analysis of the geo- logical structure and geochronological results, five deformational stages have been recognized: a D1-Early compressional deformation which represents the continental subduction; a D2-Early exhumation deformation producing a syn-convergence exhumation; a D3-Main deformation, represented by an exhumation deformation with Late Triassic age; a D4-Doming and its margin extensional gravity collapse deformation and finally a D5-regional extensional deformation of Cretaceous that was mostly introduced by the migmatization and plutonism. | LIN Wei1, 2, Faure Michel3, WANG Qingchen1 & Arnaud Nicolas4 1. | 3 | Reconstructing mean maximum temperature of growing season from the maximum density of the Schrenk Spruce in Yili,Xinjiang,China显示文摘To study the historical temperature variation in Yili of Xinjiang, the tree-ring chronologies of maximum density(MXD) and tree-ring width(TRW) were established with the Schrenk Spruce(Picea schrenkiana Fisch.et Mey) collected from six sites to analyze the characteristics and ability of response to climate change. The results suggest that the MXD chronology of the Schrenk Spruce from different sampling sites responded to climate change well and were positively correlated with the mean maximum temperature and the mean temperature from April to August in the study area. The mean maximum temperature anomaly from April to August, spanning the years from 1848 to 2000,was reconstructed by three MXD chronologies which were selected by stepwise regression. The reconstructed function was stable and explained 56.2% of the variance. The reconstructed results indicated a cold span of 153 years in spring and summer from the beginning of the 1950s to the beginning of the 1970s in the Yili valley. No strongly increasing tendency was detected in the mean maximum temperature anomaly from April to August during this reconstructed period. | CHEN Jin1,2,3,WANG LiLi1,4,5,ZHU HaiFeng1 & WU Pu1 1 Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100101,China 2 Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100049,China 3 Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100044,China 4 Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100085,China 5 Institute of Desert and Meteorology,China Meteorological Administration,ürümqi 830002,China | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,13: | 21
Geometric construction of energy-minimizing Bézier curves显示文摘Modeling energy-minimizing curves have many applications and are a basic problem of Geometric Modeling. In this paper,we propose the method for geometric design of energy-minimizing B′ezier curves.Firstly, the necessary and sufficient condition on the control points for B′ezier curves to have minimal internal energy is derived.Based on this condition,we propose the geometric constructions of three kinds of B′ezier curves with minimal internal energy including stretch energy, strain energy and jerk energy.Given some control points, the other control points can be determined as the linear combination of the given control points. We compare the three kinds of energy-minimizing B′ezier curves via curvature combs and curvature plots, and present the collinear properties of quartic energy-minimizing B′ezier curves. We also compare the proposed method with previous methods on efficiency and accuracy. Finally, several applications of the curve generation technique, such as curve interpolation with geometric constraints and modeling of circle-like curves are discussed. | XU Gang 1,4,5,WANG GuoZhao 2 & CHEN WenYu 2,3 1 Institute of Graphics and Image,Hangzhou Dianzi University,Hangzhou 310018,China 2 Department of Mathematics,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China 3 School of Computer Engineering,Nanyang Technological University,639798,Singapore 4 Galaad,INRIA Sophia-Antipolis,2004 Route des Lucioles,06902,France 5 State Key Lab of CAD & CG,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China | 2011 | Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,7: | 15
Formation mechanism of carbonate cemented zones adjacent to the top overpressured surface in the central Junggar Basin,NW China显示文摘Carbonate cemented zones are normally adjacent to the top overpressured surface in the central Junggar Basin,NW China.Stable carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions and petrological investigations of carbonate cements in the carbonate cemented zones indicate that:(1) carbonate cements are composed dominantly of ferrocalcite, ferroan dolomite, and ankerite;(2) carbonate cements are formed under a high temperature circumstance in the subsurface, and organic fluid migration has an important effect on the formation of them;and(3) carbon and oxygen ions in the carbonate cements migrate from the underlying overpressured system. This suggests that the occurrence of carbonate cemented zones in this region results from multiple phases of organic fluid expulsion out of the overpressure compartment through geological time. This study provides a plausible mechanism of the formation of carbonate cemented zones adjacent to the top overpressured surface in the clastic sedimentary basins, and has an important implication for understanding the internal correlation between the formation of carbonate cemented zones adjacent to top overpressured surface and geofluids expulsion out of overpressured system. | YANG Zhi1,2,ZOU CaiNeng1,3,HE Sheng2,LI QiYan1,HE ZhiLiang3,WU HengZhi5,CAO Feng1,MENG XianLong4,WANG FuRong2 & XIAO Qilin21 State Key Laboratory of EOR,Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration & Development,PetroChina,Beijing 100083,China 2 Key Laboratory of Tectonics and Petroleum Resources of Ministry of Education,China University of Geosciences,Wuhan 430074,China 3 State Key Laboratory of EOR,Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration & Development,Petrochina,Beijing 100083,China 4 Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Production,SINOPEC,Beijing 100083,China 5 Southwest Branch Company,SINOPEC,Chengdu 610051,China | 2010 | Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,4: | 12
Primary scientific results of Chang'E-1 lunar mission显示文摘The strategic plan for the development of the unmanned Chinese Lunar Exploration Program is characterized by three distinct stages: 'orbiting around', 'landing on' and 'returning from' the Moon. The first Chinese lunar probe, Chang'E-1, which was successfully launched on October 24th, 2007 at Xichang Satellite Launch Center, and guided to crash on the Moon on March 1st, 2009, at 52.36°E, 1.50°S, in the north of Mare Fecunditatis, is the first step towards the 'orbiting around' stage. The Chang'E-1 mission lasted 495 days, exceeding the expected life-span by about four months. A total of 1.37 TB raw data was received from Chang'E-1. It was then processed into 4 TB scientific data products at various levels. Many scientific results have been obtained by analyzing these data, including especially the 'global lunar image from the first Chinese lunar explora- tion mission'. All scientific goals of Chang'E-1 have been achieved. It provides much useful materials for further advances of lunar sciences and planetary chemistry. Meanwhile, these results will serve as a firm basis for future Chinese lunar missions. | OUYANG ZiYuan1,2, LI ChunLai1, ZOU YongLiao1, ZHANG HongBo1, Lü Chang1, LIU JianZhong1, LIU JianJun1, ZUO Wei1, SU Yan1, WEN WeiBin1, BIAN Wei1, ZHAO BaoChang3, WANG JianYu4, YANG JianFeng3, CHANG Jin5, WANG HuanYu6, ZHANG XiaoHui7, WANG ShiJin7, WANG Min1, REN Xin1, MU LingLi1, KONG DeQing1, WANG XiaoQian1, WANG Fang1, GENG Liang1, ZHANG ZhouBin1, ZHENG Lei1, ZHU XinYing1, ZHENG YongChun1, LI JunDuo1, ZOU XiaoDuan1, XU Chun1, SHI ShuoBiao1, GAO YiFei1 & GAO GuanNan1 1 National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100012, China 2 Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guiyang 550002, China 3 Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xi’an 710119, China 4 Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai 200083, China 5 Purple Mountain Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing 210008, China 6 Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100049, China 7 Center for Space Science and Applied Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100190, China | 2010 | Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,11: | 11
Boron isotopic fractionation in laboratory inorganic carbonate precipitation:Evidence for the incorpora-tion of B(OH)_3 into carbonate显示文摘A laboratory inorganic carbonate precipitation experiment at high pH of 8.96 to 9.34 was conducted, and the boron isotopic fractionations of the precipitated carbonate were measured. The data show that boron isotopic fractionation factors (αcarb-3) between carbonate and B(OH)3 in seawater range 0.937 and 0.965, with an average value of 0.953. Our results together with those reported by Sanyal and collabo-rators show that the αcarb-3 values between carbonate and B(OH)3 in solution are not constant but are negatively correlated with the pH of seawater. The measured boron isotopic compositions of carbonate precipitation (δ11Bcarb) do not exactly lie on the best-fit theoretical δ 11B4-pH curves and neither do they exactly parallel any theoretical δ 11B4-pH curves. Therefore, it is reasonable to argue that a changeable proportion of B(OH)3 with pH of seawater should also be incorporated into carbonate except for the dominant incorporation of B(OH)4- in carbonate . Hence, in the reconstruction of the paleo-pH of sea-water from boron isotopes in marine biogenic carbonates, the use of theoretical boron isotopic frac-tionation factor (α4-3) between B(OH)4- and B(OH)3 is not suitable. Instead, an empirical equation should be established. | XIAO YingKai1,2, LI HuaLing1,3, LIU WeiGuo4, WANG XiuFang1 & JIANG ShaoYong5 1 Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xining 810008, China 2 State Key Laboratory of Environmental Geochemistry, Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guiyang 550002, China 3 Nanjing Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources, Nanjing 210016, China 4 State Key Laboratory of Loess and Quaternary Geology, Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xi’an 710075, China 5 State Key Laboratory for Mineral Deposits Research, Department of Earth Sciences, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093, China | 2008 | Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,12: | 8
Growth characteristics and response to climate change of Larix Miller tree-ring in China显示文摘As one of the earliest species used in dendrochronological studies, Larix responds sensitively to climate change. In this study, nine larch species and one variety from eleven sites were collected to study the growth characteristics of tree-ring width using dendrochronological methods. Ten residual tree-ring chronologies were developed to analyze their relationships with regional standardized anomaly series by Pearson’s correlation analysis. The results suggest that most of the chronologies had significantly positive correlations with the mean temperature and mean maximum temperature in May. The spring temperature evidently limited the radial growth of the larch species without precipitation control. The largest mean tree-ring width was found in Himalayan Larch in Jilong, whereas Master Larch in Si’er reflected the smallest mean value. Both species presented little climate information in this study. Chinese, Potanin, and Tibetan larches are significantly correlated with climate change, implying a huge potential for climate history reconstruction. The elevation of the sampling sites appears to be an important condition for tree-ring growth of larches responding to climate factors. | SUN Yu1,4, WANG LiLi1,2,3, CHEN Jin5, DUAN JianPing1,4, SHAO XueMei1,2 & CHEN KeLong6 1 Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China 2 Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100085, China 3 Institute of Desert and Meteorology, China Meteorological Administration, Urumqi 830002, China 4 Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100049, China 5 Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100044, China 6 School of Life and Geography Sciences, Qinghai Normal University, Xining 810008, China | 2010 | Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,6: | 8
Implementation of a multiple round quantum dense coding using nuclear magnetic resonance显示文摘A multiple round quantum dense coding scheme based on the quantum phase estimation algorithm is proposed and implemented in a three qubit nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) quantum computer. Using an m + 1 qubit system, Bob can transmit one of 2m+1 messages to Alice, through manipulating only one qubit and exchanging it between Alice and Bob for m rounds. The information capacity is enhanced to m + 1 bits as compared to m bits in a classical scheme. The scheme has been demonstrated in NMR system, and the experimental results show a good agreement between theory and experiment. | ZHANG Jingfu1, XIE Jingyi2, WANG Chuan1, DENG Zhiwei3, LU Zhiheng4, & LONG Guilu1,5 1. | 10 | The role of MC1R gene in buffalo coat color显示文摘Melanocortin-1 receptor (MC1R) plays a major role in pigmentation in many species. To investigate if the MC1R gene is associated with coat color in water buffalo, the coding region of MC1R gene of 216 buffalo samples was sequenced, which included 49 black river buffalo (Murrah and Nili-Ravi),136 swamp buffalo (Dehong,Diandongnan,Dechang,Guizhou, and Xilin) with white and gray body, and 31 hybrid offspring of river buffalo Nili-Ravi (or Murrah) and swamp buffalo.Among the three variation sites found,SNP684 was synonymous, while SNP310 and SNP384 were nonsynonymous, leading to p.S104G and p.I128M changes, respectively.Only Individuals carrying homozygote EBR/EBR were black. The genotype and phenotype analysis of the hybrid offspring of black river buffalo and gray swamp buffalo further revealed that the river buffalo type allele EBR or the allele carrying the amino acid p.104S was important for the full function of MC1R.The in silico functional analysis showed that the amino acid substitutions p.G104S and p.M128I had significant impact on the function of MC1R.Above results indicate that the allele EBR or the allele carrying the amino acid p.104S was associated with the black coat color in buffalo. | MIAO YongWang1,2,WU GuiSheng3,WANG Lei2,LI DaLin4,TANG ShouKun5,LIANG JianPing2,MAO HuaMing2,LUO HuaiRong3 & ZHANG YaPing1,6 1 Laboratory for Conservation and Utilization of Bio-resource,Yunnan University,Kunming 650091,China 2 Faculty of Animal Science and Technology,Yunnan Agricultural University,Kunming 650201,China 3 Kunming Institute of Botany,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Kunming 650204,China 4 Yunnan Institute of Buffalo Science and Technology,Kunming 650021,China 5 Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station of Luxi city,Luxi 678400,China 6 State Key Laboratory of Genetic Resources and Evolution,Kunming Institute of Zoology,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Kunming 650223,China | 2010 | Science China(Life Sciences)2010,53,2: | 8
Ternary geochemical-tracing system in natural gas accumulation显示文摘The establishment of geochemical-tracing system of gas generation and accumulation is helpful to re-elucidating the gas migration and accumulation in time and space. To deduce the complex process of gas accumulation, a ternary geochemical-tracing system is set up, according to stable isotope inheritance of source rocks, kinetic fractionation of stable isotopes, time-accumulating effect of noble gas isotopes, mantle-derived volatile inheritance, and organic molecule inheritance of light hydrocarbons and thermally kinetic fractionation in their generation, in combination with the previous achievements of gas geochemistry and geochemical parameters of gas-source correlation. There are tight interactions for the geochemical parameters with much information about parent inheritance and special biomarkers, in which they are confirmed each other, reciprocally associated and preferentially used for the requirement so that we can use these geochemical parameters to effectively demonstrate the sources of natural gas, sedimentary environments and thermal evolution of source rocks, migration and accumulation of natural gas, and rearrangement of natural gas reservoirs. It is necessary for the ternary geochemical-tracing system to predict the formation of high efficient gas reservoir and their distribution in time and space. | LIU WenHui1,2?, CHEN MengJin3, GUAN Ping4, ZHENG JianJing2, JIN Qiang5, LI Jian6, WANG WanChun2, HU GuoYi3, XIA YanQing2 & ZHANG DianWei2 1 Exploration & Production Research Institute, SINOPEC, Beijing 100083, China 2 Key Laboratory of Gas Geochemistry, Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou 730000, China 3 Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration & Production, PetroChina, Beijing 100083, China 4 School of Earth and Space Sciences, Peking University, Beijing 100871, China 5 China University of Petroleum (East China), Dongying 257062 ,China 6 Longfang Branch, Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration & Production, PetroChina, Longfang 065007, China | 2007 | Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,10: | 7

Archaeological study of ostrich eggshell beads collected from SDG site显示文摘Ostrich eggshell beads and fragments collected from SDG site reflect primordial art and a kind of symbolic behavior of modern humans. Based on stratigraphic data and OSL dating, these ostrich eggshell beads are probably in Early Holocene (< 10 ka BP). Two different prehistoric manufacturing pathways are usually used in the manufacture of ostrich eggshell beads in Upper Paleolithic. According to statistic analysis of the characteristics of ostrich eggshell beads, Pathway 1 is identified from these collections. In pathway 1, blanks are drilled prior to being trimmed to rough discs. They exhibit great potential for the study of the origin of primordial art and the development of ancient cultures and provide important data for studying behavioral options adopted by hominids in SDG area. | 19 | Smashing Tissue Extraction and HPLC Determination of Paclitaxel and 10-Deacetylbaccatin from Taxus x media显示文摘Objective To optimize the extraction technology of Taxus x media by using the contents of Paclitaxel and 10-deacetylbaccatin(10-DAB) ,two representative active diterpene alkaloids of taxane type from T.x media,as evaluation standard. Methods The smashing tissue extraction(STE) of Paclitaxel and 10-DAB from T.x media, was investigated by comparing with ultrasonic extraction(UE) which was one of the modern technologies of extraction. Results STE was more efficient than UE,and the contents of 10-DAB and Paclitaxel in the extracts obtained by STE were higher than those by UE.Conclusion STE is a fast,high-performance,and energy-saving technology for the extraction of diterpene alkaloids of taxane type.STE also provides a simple,component-safe,workable,and highly efficient method for the extraction of active natural product. | LIU Yan-ze1,2,GAO Wen-qin3,WANG Ji-wen4,ZHANG Yu3,ZHAO Yu-qing4,5 1.Institute of Medicinal Plant Development,Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences,Beijing 100193,China 2.Bio-Organic and Natural Product Laboratory,McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School,MA 02478,USA 3.Shenyang Pharmaceutical University,Shenyang 110006,China 4.Shenyang Tianfeng Bioengineer Technology Co.,Ltd.,Shenyang 110015,China 5.Key Laboratory of Structure-Based Drug Design & Discovery,Ministry of Education,Shenyang Pharmaceutical University,Shenyang 110016,China | 2011 | Chinese Herbal Medicines2011,3,3: | 4
| 20 | Hydrocarbon accumulation in network and its application in the continental rift basin显示文摘The concept of hydrocarbon accumulation in network was presented on basis of the overall analysis of the formation and evolution characteristics of the continental faulted basin and of the systemic re-search on the major controlling factors on the hydrocarbon accumulation. The hydrocarbon accumu-lation in network can be defined as hydrocarbon accumulation in a three-dimensional network system which is constituted by the hydrocarbon migration passages under multiple dynamics, following the hydrocarbon generation from source rocks. The research shows that the hydrocarbon accumulation in network is composed of four elements,i.e.,hydrocarbon source (source rock kitchen),hydrocarbon accumulation terminal (trap),network pathway connecting source and terminal (transporting system),and network potential driving hydrocarbon migration in the network pathway (migration dynamics). Compared with other networks, hydrocarbon accumulation in network has three basic characteristics: the irreversible geological process of material and information flow in the network; the loss of material and information in the flow process in the network; the multiple dynamics in the flow process. Interac-tion of all the elements in the geological process can be called hydrocarbon accumulation in network. There are three basic models for hydrocarbon accumulation in network, that is,hydrocarbon accumu-lation in the network source area, hydrocarbon accumulation in the network pathway, and hydrocarbon accumulation in the network terminal. The key in the application of the hydrocarbon accumulation models in network in practice is to confirm the major accumulation stage and the function range of the four elements controlling the hydrocarbon firstly,to predict the profitable accumulation region by su-perposition of the favorable areas confirmed by four elements consequently, and to evaluate the oil-bearing property of the trap as well as confirm drilling targets. This paper takes the Dongying De-pression in the Bohai Bay Basin as an application example. | PANG XiongQi1,2,CHEN DongXia1,ZHANG ShanWen3,HAO Fang1,LIU Zheng1,LIU KeYu3,SONG GuoQi4,WANG YongShi4,LUO XiaoRong5 & WU XiaoChun61 State Key Laboratory of Petroleum Resource and Prospecting,Chinese University of Petroleum,Beijing 102249,China 2 Basin and Reservoir Center,Chinese University of Petroleum,Beijing 102249,China 3 SINOPEC Shengli Oilfield,Dongying 257051,China 4 CSIRO Petroleum,P.
