| 1 | Identification of a combination of SNPs associated with Graves' disease using swarm intelligence显示文摘Graves' disease,the production of thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor-stimulating antibodies leading to hyperthyroidism,is one of the most common forms of human autoimmune disease.It is widely agreed that complex diseases are not controlled simply by an individual gene or DNA variation but by their combination.Single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs),which are the most common form of DNA variation,have great potential as a medical diagnostic tool.In this paper,the P-value is used as a SNP pre-selection criterion,and a wrapper algorithm with binary particle swarm optimization is used to find the rule for discriminating between affected and control subjects.We analyzed the association between combinations of SNPs and Graves' disease by investigating 108 SNPs in 384 cases and 652 controls.We evaluated our method by differentiating between cases and controls in a five-fold cross validation test,and it achieved a 72.9% prediction accuracy with a combination of 17 SNPs.The experimental results showed that SNPs,even those with a high P-value,have a greater effect on Graves' disease when acting in a combination. | WEI Bin PENG QinKe ZHANG QuanWei LI ChenYao | 2011 | Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,2: | 6 |
| 2 | Effects on Growth Performance and Feed Digestibility of Hainan Black Pigs by Adding Lysine in Low Protein Diet显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to study the effects on growth performance and feed digestibility of Hainan black pigs by adding lysine in low protein diet.[Method] A total of 36 Hainan black pigs with the body weight of(46.34 ±3.06) kg were randomly divided into three groups:control group(protein level 15%,lysine level 0.83%),experimental group I(protein level 13%,0.83%),and experimental group II(protein level 13%,lysine level 1.03),each group had three replicates of four pigs.The trial lasted 35 d.[Result] The growth performance of Hainan black pig in group II had no significant difference with that in control group(P>0.05).The apparent digestibility of crude protein and phosphorus of Hainan black pigs in Group II increased significantly(P<0.05),which were increased by 10.08% and 11.85% respectively compared to the control group;the apparent digestibility of calcium was increased,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).[Conclusion] It will not reduce the growth performance of Hainan black pig when the protein level of diet is reduced by 2% and the lysine level is increased to 1.03%.It is recommended that the diet can be used in the production of Hainan black pig. | Wei Limin Liu Quanwei Sun Ruiping Zheng Xinli Wang Feng Tan Shuyi Huang Lili Xing Manping | 2018 | Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2018,10,2: | 4 |

The trial lasted 50 d.[Result] The final weight, daily gain and feed intake of experimental group were significantly higher than those of control group(P<0.05), but the feed/gain ratio of experimental group was markedly lower than that of control group(P<0.05). By using the basis function projection, the component separation becomes a problem of limited parameter estimation. Then, a Bayesian model for estimating parameters is set up. The reversible jump MCMC (Monte Carlo Markov Chain) algorithmis adopted to perform the Bayesian computation. The method can jointly estimate the parameters of each component and the component number. | 5 | Effects of Dietary Crude Fiber Levels on Growth Performance and Serum Biochemical Index of Dingan Geese Aged from 35 to 70 Days显示文摘[Objective] The study was carried out to investigate the effects of dietary crude fiber on growth performance and serum biochemical in-dex of Dingan geese aged from 35 to 70 days.[Method] A total of 120 Dingan geese on day 28 with the same genetic background and similar initial weight(1 384.83.73±0.76 g) were randomly assigned into 3 groups, with 4 replicates per group and 10 geese per replicate. Geese were fed the diets containing 4.29%, 5.29% and 6.29 % crude fiber, respectively. The experiment lasted 35 d.[Result] Final weight and daily gain of 5.29 %CF group were significantly higher than those of 6.29 % CF group(P<0.05);Feed intake was markedly higher than those of 4.29% and 6.29 % CF groups(P<0.05);Feed gain ratio was significantly lower than that of 6.29 % CF group(P<0.05). The main idea of the method is based on using the energy operator and differential energy operator to estimate instantaneous frequencies and amplitudes of each component and then to reconstruct these components. Goats were fed with Juncao+concentrate(control group), pel-leted total mixed ration I(particle size 6 mm, experimental group I) and II(particle size 5 mm, experimental group II), respectively. The trial lasted 45 d.[Result](1) The final weight and daily gain of experimental group II were significantly higher than those of control group( P<0.05), and the daily gain of experimental group II was also higher than that of experimental group I(P<0.05);the feed intake of experimental group II was markedly higher than that of control group(P<0.05), but was significantly lower than that of experimental group I(P<0.05). The results showed that hybridization of Nubian black goat and Hainan black goat significantly improved the production performance and slaughter performance of hybrid offsprings (P>0.05). The meat quality of F1 hybrid black goat had no significant difference with that of Hainan black goat except for the hardness and elasticity (P<0.05). | 17 | Maternal stevioside supplementation improves intestinal immune function of chicken offspring potentially via modulating gut microbiota and down-regulating the promoter methylation level of suppressor of cytokine signaling 1(SOCS1)显示文摘The intestinal immune function of chickens is limited during the early growing stage.Maternal nutritional intervention has been suggested to affect the innate immunity of offspring.The present study aimed to investigate the effects of maternal stevioside supplementation on the intestinal immune function of chicken offspring.A total of 120 Jinmao yellow-feathered breeder hens were fed a basal diet or a diet supplemented with 250 mg/kg stevioside for 5 weeks.During the last week,200 breeding eggs from each group were collected for incubation.After hatching,80 male offspring(40 chickens from each group)were randomly selected and fed the same basal diet for 28 d.In addition,90 well-shaped fertile eggs of non-treated breeder hens were incubated for the in ovo injection experiment.Steviol dissolved in 20%glycerol was injected at 7 d of incubation.The results showed that maternal stevioside supplementation could improve embryonic development,jejunal integrity and proliferation in the jejunal crypt(P<0.05).Maternal stevioside supplementation could also increase the innate transcription levels of cytokines and endotoxin tolerance-related factors in the jejunum of chicken offspring(P<0.05).At 28 d of age,the offspring following maternal stevioside supplementation exhibited higher jejunal secretory immunoglobulin A and serum interferons levels(P<0.05).A higher abundance of Lactobacillales induced by maternal stevioside supplementation was positively correlated with intestinal immunerelated factors(P<0.05).The in ovo injection with steviol did not alter either embryonic development or intestinal immune function of hatching chickens(P>0.05).Furthermore,maternal stevioside supplementation could induce hypo-methylation on the promoter region of suppressor of cytokine signaling 1(SOCS1).In conclusion,maternal stevioside supplementation could improve the intestinal immune function of chicken offspring potentially via modulating the gut microbiota and downregulating the promoter methylation level of SOCS1. | Jingle Jiang Lina Qi Quanwei Wei Fangxiong Shi | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,3: | 1 |

| 20 | Platycodon grandiflorus polysaccharide regulates colonic immunity through mesenteric lymphatic circulation to attenuate ulcerative colitis显示文摘Platycodon grandiflorus polysaccharide(PGP)is one of the main components of P.grandiflorus,but the mechanism of its anti-inflammatory effect has not been fully elucidated.The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic effect of PGP on mice with dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)-induced ulcerative colitis(UC)and explore the underlying mechanisms.The results showed that PGP treatment inhibited the weight loss of DSS-induced UC mice,increased colon length,and reduced DAI,spleen index,and pathological damage within the colon.PGP also reduced the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and inhibited the enhancement of oxidative stress and MPO activity.Meanwhile,PGP restored the levels of Th1,Th2,Th17,and Treg cell-related cytokines and transcription factors in the colon to regulate colonic immunity.Further studies revealed that PGP regulated the balance of colonic immune cells through mesenteric lymphatic circulation.Taken together,PGP exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effect and regulates colonic immunity to attenuate DSS-induced UC through mesenteric lymphatic circulation. | LIU Yang DONG Yahui SHEN Wei DU Jiahui SUN Quanwei YANG Ye YIN Denke | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2023,21,4: | 0 |
