| 1 | Modified unscented particle filter for nonlinear Bayesian tracking显示文摘A modified unscented particle filtering scheme for nonlinear tracking is proposed, in view of the potential drawbacks (such as, particle impoverishment and numerical sensitivity in calculating the prior) of the conventional unscented particle filter (UPF) confronted in practice. Specifically, a difierent derivation of the importance weight is presented in detail. The proposed method can avoid the calculation of the prior and reduce the effects of the impoverishment problem caused by sampling from the proposal distribution. | 4 | Near lossless compression of hyperspectral images based on distributed source coding显示文摘Effective compression technique of on-board hyperspectral images has been an active topic in the field of hyperspectral remote sensintg.In order to solve the effective compression of on-board hyperspectral images,a new distributed near lossless compression algorithm based on multilevel coset codes is proposed.Due to the diverse importance of each band,a new adaptive rate allocation algorithm is proposed,which allocates rational rate for each band according to the size of weight factor defined for hyperspectral images subject to the target rate constraints.Multiband prediction is introduced for Slepian-Wolf lossless coding and an optimal quantization algorithm is presented under the correct reconstruction of Slepian-Wolf decoder,which minimizes the distortion of reconstructed hyperspectral images under the target rate.Then Slepian-Wolf encoder exploits the correlation of the quantized values to generate the final bit streams.Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has both higher compression efficiency and lower encoder complexity than several existing classical algorithms. | NIAN YongJian WAN JianWei TANG Yi CHEN Bo | 2012 | Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,11: | 7 |
| 5 | Characterization of 500 Chinese patients with cervical esophageal cancer by clinicopathological and treatment outcomes显示文摘Objective: There are no comprehensive studies on survival outcomes and optimal treatment protocols for cervical esophageal cancer(CEC), due to its rare clinical prevalence. Our objective was to determine the relationship between pathological characteristics, treatment protocols, and survival outcomes in Chinese CEC patients.Methods: A total of 500 Chinese CEC patients were selected from our 500,000 esophageal and gastric cardia carcinoma database(1973–2018). There were two main groups: patients treated with surgery, and patients receiving non-surgical treatments(radiotherapy, radiochemotherapy, and chemotherapy). The Chi-square test and Kaplan–Meier method were used to compare the continuous variables and survival.Results: Among the 500 CEC patients, 278(55.6%) were male, and the median age was 60.9 ± 9.4 years. A total of 496 patients(99.2%) were diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. In 171(34.2%) patients who received surgery, 22(12.9%) had undergone laryngectomy. In 322(64.4%) patients who received non-surgical treatments, 245(76.1%) received radiotherapy. Stratified survival analysis showed that only T stage was related with survival outcomes for CEC patients in the surgical group, and the outcomes between laryngectomy and non-laryngectomy patients were similar. It was noteworthy that the 5-year survival rate was similar in CEC patients among the different groups treated with surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or radiochemotherapy(P = 0.244). Conclusions: The CEC patients had similar survival outcomes after curative esophagectomy and radiotherapy, including those with or without total laryngectomy. | 7 | DIMENSIONALITY REDUCTION FOR HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGERY BASED ON FASTICA显示文摘The high dimensions of hyperspectral imagery have caused burden for further processing. A new Fast Independent Component Analysis (FastICA) approach to dimensionality reduction for hyperspectral imagery is presented. The virtual dimensionality is introduced to determine the number of dimensions needed to be preserved. Since there is no prioritization among independent components generated by the FastICA,the mixing matrix of FastICA is initialized by endmembers,which were extracted by using unsupervised maximum distance method. Minimum Noise Fraction (MNF) is used for preprocessing of original data,which can reduce the computational complexity of FastICA significantly. Finally,FastICA is performed on the selected principal components acquired by MNF to generate the expected independent components in accordance with the order of endmembers.
