1High pulse energy fiber/solid-slab hybrid picosecond pulse system for material processing on polycrystalline diamonds显示文摘We demonstrate an all polarization-maintaining(PM) fiber mode-locked laser seeded, hybrid fiber/solid-slab picosecond pulse laser system which outputs 40 μJ, 10 ps pulses at the central wavelength of 1064 nm. The beam quality factors M2 in the unstable and stable directions are 1.35 and 1.31, respectively. 15 μJ picosecond pulses at the central wavelength of 355 nm are generated through third harmonic generation(THG) by using two Li B3 O5(LBO) crystals, in order to get better processing efficiency on polycrystalline diamonds. The high pulse energy and beam quality of these ultraviolet(UV) picosecond pulses are confirmed by latter experiments of material processing on polycrystalline diamonds. 2Seismic cyclic loading test of SRC columns confined with 5-spirals显示文摘Presented herein is an experimental study on seismic resistance of rectangular steel reinforced concrete (SRC) columns confined with a new type of multi-spiral cage. The multi-spiral cage is a device of five interconnected spirals, named '5-spirals', with a large spiral at the center and four small ones at the corners. The innovation of applying the 5-spirals to SRC column is to take its superiority in concrete confinement and efficiency in automatic production for the precast construction industry. Four full-scale SRC columns were tested under horizontal cyclic loading. All of the tested columns were capable of sustaining a drift angle up to 6% radians. The hysteresis loops observed from the cyclic loading tests indicated that the spirally confined SRC columns demonstrated excellent performances in both strength and ductility. 3High pulse energy femtosecond large-mode-area photonic crystal fiber laser显示文摘A high pulse energy femtosecond fiber laser based on a large-mode-area photonic crystal fiber is demonstrated. A segment of Yb-doped single-polarization large-mode-area photonic crystal fiber with extremely low nonlinearity is explored as gain media of this fiber laser, resulting in intrinsically environmentally stability. The fiber laser is based on a linear cavity with dispersion compensation free configuration, and the stable mode-locking is obtained by a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). The fiber laser directly generates 2.5 W of average power at a repetition rate of 51.4 MHz, corresponding to a single pulse energy of 50 nJ. The output pulse duration is 4.2 ps, which is dechirped to 410 fs after extracavity dispersion compensation. The nonlinear absorption of SESAM determines the pulse shaping at low output power, while the mode-locking mechanism is under the balance between spectrum broadening from self-phase-modulation and gain filtering at the high output power.SONG YouJian HU MingLiet ZHANG Chi CHAI Lu WANG ChingYue 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,23:4

7Nonlinearity optimization of dissipative-soliton fiber laser for generation of pulses with 350 kW peak power显示文摘We demonstrate a nonlinearity optimization method by altering distribution of passive fibers in a dissipative-soliton mode-locked fiber laser to level up output parameters. In the numerical simulation, we found that the passive fiber segment after gain fiber characterizes the highest average B-integral among fiber segments. By reducing the length of this fiber section and keeping the total passive fiber length as constant, the output pulse energy can be effectively scaled up while maintaining a short dechirped pulse duration, resulting in boosting peak power. With this method, 37-n J pulses are generated from a dissipative-soliton mode-locked cladding pumped ytterbium-doped single-mode fiber laser in the experiment. The pulse can be dechirped to 66 fs with 350 k W peak power. 9Investigation of photodamage by femtosecond laser to cells via gold nanorods显示文摘Usually,only focused femtosecond(fs)lasers at near-infrared(NIR)range can induce photo-damage to transparent cells,making it difficult to treat large amount of cells by such optical methods for photostimulation.In this study,we clarify the mechanism of photodamage to cells that are co-cultured with gold nanorods(GNRs)by fs laser.The pulse duration and repetition rate of the fs laser play a key role in cell damage suggesting that the heat accumulation con-tributes to the major part for the cell damage rather than the high peak power which mainly determines the efficiency of multiphoton excitation.We further show that cellular Ca^(2+)can also be released in this scheme,but the process is more sensitive to peak power.Our results can provide a large-scale GNR-mediated photostimulation for cell signaling modulation.Yang Li Hao He Huanyu Song Bowen Liu Mingle Hu Chingyue Wang 2017Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2017,,1:0
