1The Mechanism Analysis of Seafloor Silt Liquefaction Under Wave Loading显示文摘The sediment in Chengbei area of the Huanghe (Yellow River) subaqueous delta is the object of a reseach project in this article. The accumulating and dissipating effects following the change of time are considered first in the study area and the distributing curves of excess pore water pressure along with time and depth in the soil stratum are gained; the possibility of silt liquefaction is evaluated using the computing values and the affecting depth of liquefaction is given. 2Immunohistochemical localization of gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptors (GnRHR) in the nervous system,Hatschek's pit and gonads of amphioxus,Branchiostoma belcheri显示文摘Using gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) anti-idiotypic antibodies and APA immunohistochemical method, the immunoreactivity of GnRHR in the nervous system, Hatschek’s pit and gonads of amphioxus has been located. It is found for the first time that the immunoreactivity of GnRHR exists in the nerve cells and fibers in the amphioxus’s brain and nerve tube and the epithelial cells of Hatschek’s pit at the different stages of gonadal development. At the same time, it is also found that GnRHR also exists in the ovary and testis of different developed stages. 3Observational study of daytime ionospheric irregularities associated with typhoon显示文摘Spread-F is a manifestation of ionospheric irregularities and generally takes place at nighttime. However, it can also be observed seldom at daytime. It is recognized that acoustic gravity waves (AGWs) play an important role in triggering plasma instability which results in spread-F in the ionosphere. The typhoon is a main source of the AGWs. In this paper, two cases of ionospheric daytime spread-F in the period of typhoon were analyzed. One case was on July 29, 1988 and the other was on August 01, 1989. The results showed the following: 1) There were some wave-like disturbances appearing in the HF Doppler records firstly, consequently the Doppler echo traces became scattered, which indicated that the ionospheric spread-F was triggered; 2) the blurred echo traces in the both two cases appeared in the morning (08:30-11:30 Beijing time) and lasted for more than two hours; 3) with the blurred echoes gradually weakening, the traveling ionospheric disturbances (TIDs) still existed and became clearer; 4) the frequency shifts in the two cases were both positive, implying the effective reflecting surface of the radio wave in the ionosphere moved downwards. 4Microconchids from Microbialites near the Permian-Triassic Boundary in the Zuodeng Section, Baise Area, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, South China and Their Paleoenvironmental Implications显示文摘Abundant microconchid worm tubes were extracted from the microbialites deposit near the Permian-Triassic boundary at the Zuodeng Section, Baise area, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, South China. These calcareous worm tubes were studied in both petrographic thin sections and isolated specimens using optical microscope and sensitive electronic microscope(SEM), respectively. They are categorized into two morphological types: helically coiled and planispirally coiled tubes, which are assignable to Microconchus aberrans(Hohenstein, 1913) and M. utahesis(Zatoń et al., 2013), respectively. The tube wall ultrastructure is characterized by laminated micrites, which distinguish the studied microconchids from comparable microgastropods or spirorbid polychaete that usually has shell ultrastructure of spar texture. The overwhelm majority of microconchids from the microbialite possess the planispirally coiled tubes. The lifestyle of extant, morphologically convergent spirorbids suggests that these planispirally coiled microconchids may have colonized in some local oxygenic oases probably produced by photosynthetic cyanobacteria in the oxygen-poor microbialite ecosystem in which they may have settled densely with high competition among various individuals and with other associated animals for oxygen consumption and food soucres. The deleterious environment condition of the microbialite ecosystem immediately after the Permian-Triassic biocrisis is also indicated by various geochemical signals derived from the same section. 6Comparative expression analysis of three genes from the Arabidopsis vacuolar Na^+/H^+ antiporter (AtNHX) family in relation to abiotic stresses显示文摘Na^+/H^+ antiporters (NHX) are ubiquitous transmembrane proteins that play a key role in salt tolerance of plants. In this study, the sequence of 3 Arabidopsis NHX gene (AtNHX2―4) were compared with other AtNHX members. Putative cis-elements analysis identified elements that have been associated with stress responses. The activities of the promoters AtNHX2―4 were studied in transgenic plants carrying corresponding promoter-β-glucuronidase (GUS) fusions. The AtNHX2 promoter-GUS analysis indicated that AtNHX2 was expressed in constitutive pattern with high GUS activity in roots and leaves. AtNHX2 promoter activity was not up-regulated by NaCl or abscisic acid (ABA), in contrast to the AtNHX1 promoter which was previously studied. The AtNHX3 and AtNHX4 promoters showed tissue-specific activities. Strong GUS activity was detected in roots and vascular bundles of the stele in plants carry-ing an AtNHX4 promoter-GUS fusion, and GUS activity increased under salt stress suggesting a func-tion related to salt tolerance. Transgenic plants carrying the AtNHX3 promoter-GUS fusion showed strong GUS activity in petals, stamens and tops of siliques, suggesting a possible role of AtNHX3 in flower and seed development. Results of histochemical analysis suggested that AtNHX2―4 are involved in divergent functions and are differentially regulated under abiotic stress. The structure of AtNHX4 was predicted to include 12 transmembrane regions and a NHX domain. Overexpression of AtNHX4 in Arabidopsis transgenic lines confers greater salt tolerance than in wild type plants. 82-Ethyl-9,10-anthraquinone assisted sol–gel synthesis of Pd/γ-Al2O3 nanorods with enhanced catalytic performance in 2-ethyl-9,10-anthraquinone hydrogenation显示文摘A series of nanorod-like porous Pd/γ-Al2 O3 catalysts with controllable textural properties and enhanced catalytic performance in 2-ethyl-9,10-anthraquinone(eAQ) hydrogenation for H2 O2 preparation were successfully prepared via a facile sol-gel method using aluminum isopropoxide as aluminum precursor and eAQ as structure directing agent,sequential calcination and impregnation process with Na2 PdCl4 solution.The physicochemical properties of the catalysts obtained with different addition amounts of eAQ.were comparatively characterized by XRD,TG-DSC,BET,TEM,CO-TPR,H2-TPR and H2-O2 titration.The results show that addition of eAQ can not only effectively control the textural properties(surface area,pore volume and average pore size) of the catalysts,but also lower their reduction temperature of active metal.Importantly,the catalyst obtained with an addition amount of 4 wt% eAQ shows the highest hydrogenation efficiency of 10.28 g·L^-1,which is 37.3% higher than 7.49 g·L^-1 of the catalyst obtained without eAQ.Weiquan Cai Junlin Zhuo Jimin Fang Zhichao Yang 2019Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,8:4
9Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer outperforms Hong Kong Liver Cancer staging of hepatocellular carcinoma in multiethnic Asians: Real-world perspective显示文摘AIM To compare the Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC) and Hong Kong Liver Cancer(HKLC) classification systems when applied to HCC patients from the largest tertiary-level centre in Singapore.METHODS One thousand two hundred and seventy hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) patients prospectively enrolled in a tertiary-level centre registry in Singapore since 1988 were studied. Patients were grouped into their respective BCLC and HKLC stages. Data such as demography, aetiology of HCC and type of treatment were collected. Survival data was based on census with the National Registry of Births and Deaths on 31 st October 2015. Statistical analyses were done using SPSS version 21(Chicago, IL, United States). Survival analyses were done by the Kaplan-Meier method. Differences in survival rates were compared using the log-rank test.RESULTS The median age at presentation was 63 years(range 13-94); male 82.4%; Chinese 89.4%, Malay 7.1%, Indian, 2.8%. Hepatitis B was the predominant aetiology(75.0%; Hepatitis C 7.2%, Hepatitis B and C co-infection 3.8%, non-viral 14.0%). Both BCLC and HKLC staging systems showed good separation with overall log rank test confirming significant survival differences between stages in our cohort(P < 0.001). 206 out of the 240 patients(85.8%) assigned for curative treatment by the BCLC treatment algorithm received curative therapy for HCC [Stage 0 93.2%(68/73); Stage A 82.6%(138/167)]. In contrast, only 341/558(61.1%) patients received curative treatment despite being assigned for curative treatment by the HKLC treatment algorithm [Stage Ⅰ 72.7%(264/363); Stage Ⅱ 40.2%(66/164); Stage Va 35.5%(11/31)]. Patients who were assigned to curative treatment by HKLC but did not receive curative treatment had significantly poorer ECOG(P < 0.001), higher ChildPugh status(P < 0.001) and were older(median age 66 vs 61, P < 0.001) than those who received curative therapy. Median overall survival in patients assigned to curative treatment groups by BCLC and HKLC were 6.1 and 2.6 years respectively(P < 0.001). When only patients receiving curative treatment were analyzed, BCLC still predicted overall median survival better than HKLC(7.1 years vs 5.5 years, P = 0.037). 10Marsdenia tenacissima injection induces the apoptosis of prostate cancer by regulating the AKT/GSK3β/STAT3 signaling axis显示文摘Marsdenia tenacissima injection,a standard Marsdenia tenacissima extract(MTE),has been approved as an adjuvant therapeutic agent for various cancers.Our previous study showed that MTE inhibited the proliferation and metastasis of prostate cancer(PCa)cells.However,the underlying mechanisms and active ingredients of MTE against PCa were not completely understood.This study revealed that MTE induced significant decreases in cell viability and clonal growth in PCa cells.In addition,MTE induced the apoptosis of DU145 cells by reducing the mitochondrial membrane potential and increasing the expression of Cleaved Caspase 3/7,Cyt c,and Bax.In vivo,DU145 xenografted NOD-SCID mice treated with MTE showed significantly decreased tumor size.TUNEL staining and Western blot confirmed the pro-apoptotic effects of MTE.Network pharmacology analysis collected 196 ingredients of MTE linked to 655 potential targets,and 709 PCa-associated targets were retrieved,from which 149 overlapped targets were screened out.Pathway enrichment analysis showed that the HIF-1,PI3K-AKT,and ErbB signaling pathways were closely related to tumor apoptosis.Western blot results confirmed that MTE increased the expression of p-AKT^(Ser473) and p-GSK3β^(Ser9),and decreased the expression of p-STAT3^(Tyr705) in vitro and in vivo.A total of 13 compounds in MTE were identified by HPLC-CAD-QTOF-MS/MS and UPLCQTOF-MS/MS.Molecular docking analysis indicated that six compounds may interact with AKT,GSK3β,and STAT3.In conclusion,MTE induces the endogenous mitochondrial apoptosis of PCa by regulating the AKT/GSK3β/STAT3 signaling axis,resulting in inhibition of PCa growth in vitro and in vivo.LI Xiaolan HE Songhua LIANG Wei ZHANG Weiquan CHEN Xin LI Qiaofeng YANG Xin LIU Yanying ZHU Dan LI Li LIU Buming SU Zhiheng CHEN Jie GUO Hongwei 2023Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2023,21,2:2

13Antagonism between coral pathogen Vibrio coralliilyticus and other bacteria in the gastric cavity of scleractinian coral Galaxea fascicularis显示文摘Scleractinian corals host numerous microbial symbionts with different types of interactions. The gastric cavity of scleractinian coral, as a semiclosed subenvironment with distinct chemical characteristics(e.g., dissolved O2, pH, alkalinity, and nutrients), harbors a distinct microbial community and a diverse array of bacteria that can be pathogenic or beneficial. Galaxea fascicularis is one of the dominant massive scleractinian coral species on inshore fringing reefs in the northern South China Sea.Although the abundance of coral-associated bacteria has been investigated in G. fascicularis, less is known about the microorganisms in the gastric cavity. In this study, we specially isolated cultivable bacterial strains from the gastric cavity of G.fascicularis collected from Hainan Island using a noninvasive sampling approach. Among the 101 representative bacterial strains, one Vibrio coralliilyticus strain, SCSIO 43001, was found to be a temperature-dependent opportunistic pathogen of G.fascicularis. The antagonistic activity between the 100 strains and V. coralliilyticus SCSIO 43001 was tested using a modified Burkholder diffusion assay. Our results showed that V. coralliilyticus SCSIO 43001 inhibits the growth of Erythrobacter flavus and Sphingomonas yabuuchiae. 14Apelin inhibits motor neuron apoptosis in the anterior horn following acute spinal cord and sciatic nerve injuries显示文摘Rat models of acute spinal cord injury and sciatic nerve injury were established.Apelin expression in spinal cord tissue was determined.In normal rat spinal cords,apelin expression was visible;however,2 hours post spinal cord injury,apelin expression peaked.Apelin expression increased 1 day post ligation of the sciatic nerve compared with normal rat spinal cords,and peaked at 3 days.Apelin expression was greater in the posterior horn compared with the anterior horn at each time point when compared with the normal group.The onset of neuronal apoptosis was significantly delayed following injection of apelin protein at the stump of the sciatic nerve,and the number of apoptotic cells after injury was reduced when compared with normal spinal cords.Our results indicate that apelin is expressed in the normal spinal cord and central nervous system after peripheral nerve injury.Apelin protein can reduce motor neuron apoptosis in the spinal cord anterior horn and delay the onset of apoptosis.Zhiyue Li Weiguo Wang Qun Zhao Weiquan Ning Bin Yang Suling Zhang Siyin Feng 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,20:2
15Flexible Humidity Sensitive Fiber with Swellable Metal-Organic Frameworks显示文摘Humidity sensors have become an essential need for improving daily life quality.Here,a novel humidity sensitive fiber was fabricated using the soft polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)as the core layer and the non-swellable polyvinylidenedifluoride(PVDF)embedded with a swellable MIL-88A as the outer layer.Noticeably,the PDMS fiber was chosen as a carrier due to its smoothness,softness and good tensile properties.The isoreticular FeIII dicarboxylate MIL-88 family with swellable metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)can undergo reversible dynamic structural transformations with a response to external humidity change.The resulted fiber with swellable MOFs showed three kinds of deformation for a single solvent and also had good deformation performance for two-component miscible solution with different volume ratios.As a proof of concept,a shape-memory effect at relative humidity from 10 to 90%and the simulated salt solutions instead of relative humidity changes were used to evaluate humidity change.In addition,a deep insight into the self-shape-change mechanism among those phenomena was investigated,wherein expansion deformation of the PDMS fiber as well as the structural transforma-tion of the MIL-88A worked in different conditions.Sijia Lv Luyizheng Shuai Wenfeng Ding Weiquan Ke Bing Wang Junmin Wan 2021Advanced Fiber Materials2021,3,2:2
